"I’ve got no signal on my phone," Luo Qianqian said with a mournful expression, her heart seemingly crushed. If she were to make a move, then Bai Yixian might as well wait for death.

"Signal? I have a satellite phone." Bai Yixian took out something from his bag but he looked at Luo Qianqian very seriously, "Are you sure the person you’re contacting is reliable? Won’t it lead to exposure?"

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, "What other choice do I have but to trust you now? You’re a dead man in my hands, with no tetanus shots or means of disinfection and anesthesia. If the pain doesn’t kill you, the wound infection will."

Bai Yixian didn’t reply. He had a lighter in his hand, but he truly had nothing else.

Luo Qianqian took out her phone, which had become somewhat unresponsive from the cold, located the office number, and dialed it using the satellite phone.

"Hello, this is 168th Company."

Luo Qianqian smiled as if she thought of something amusing. She was silent but took off her coat to keep Bai Yixian warm. He was wearing even less than Luo Qianqian who had not taken off her own coat.

"Ye Meng, do you choose to help or to keep watch?" Qin Liang didn’t start working right away, instead turning to look at Luo Qianqian, who didn’t know what to do and was at a loss for action, yet still smiled awkwardly.

Luo Qianqian hesitated, "If my help is definitely needed, then I’ll assist; if not, I’ll keep watch." Watching Qin Liang use a flashlight to inspect the wound carefully, the shocking red made her turn away.

Seeing her reaction, Qin Liang decisively said, "Then come over and help."

"???" Luo Qianqian’s eyes widened in disbelief. Clearly, you can do this alone, so why do you insist on me coming?

"Help me twist open the bottle; I need to wash my hands," Qin Liang instructed with a slightly dark look in his eyes.

Luo Qianqian quickly got the water ready and approached Qin Liang’s hands, pouring slowly.

The medical bag laid to the side, filled with various tools. Luo Qianqian dared not look at the two men, focusing only on the contents of the bag. Whatever Qin Liang asked for, she just handed it over without looking.

"Alcohol," Qin Liang said softly.

Luo Qianqian hurriedly passed it over.

"Knife." Luo Qianqian handed over the dagger.

Qin Liang was taken aback for a moment, "Scalpel."

She quickly replaced the dagger with a scalpel from a sterile bag.

"Tweezers."

"Needle."

"And the thread??? The thread comes with the needle, isn’t that obvious?"

Luo Qianqian quickly threaded the needle and handed it over.

"Alcohol."

"Gauze."

"Big Sister, this is a cotton ball."

"Pack up everything; come to the office tomorrow and clean these up," Qin Liang said, looking at Luo Qianqian who dared not raise her head.

Luo Qianqian nodded, head still lowered.

"Can you walk?" Qin Liang helped Bai Yixian to his feet. "Where were you planning to go?"

"There’s a place to stay in town," Bai Yixian said through clenched teeth. After receiving an anesthetic shot, you’re supposed to wait a while before surgery to let the medicine take effect, but now I’ve already lost all sensation.

"No one’s here to send you back now, I mean are you planning to camp out here or come back with us?" Qin Liang asked coldly, watching as Luo Qianqian shouldered his pack and nodded in satisfaction.

"Come back with us," Luo Qianqian said hastily. It’s freezing here, and Luo Qianqian, who no longer had her military coat, already felt very cold.
