Chapter 180: Chapter 168: The Sick Cat Shows Its Claws
"Qianqian." Li Qi turned pale as soon as she came back to the classroom and saw Luo Qianqian.
"A clear conscience laughs at false accusations. I will not rest until this matter is thoroughly investigated!" Luo Qianqian looked at Wang Wei’s empty seat and snorted coldly. The prime suspect behind the rumors about her was naturally Wang Wei, but now she couldn’t wait for wisdom to stop the rumors.
Luo Qianqian turned and left Class Nine, headed to Class One. She saw that the girls who had been gossiping belonged to Class One and couldn’t help but snort in disdain. She felt fortunate she hadn’t chosen such a class; otherwise, she really didn’t know how she could have been quietly sabotaged to death.
Luo Qianqian walked straight into the classroom of Class One. Li Qi, Pei Yuhao, and the others who followed her were stunned. Luo Qianqian slapped the lecture desk, and everybody froze and turned to look at her. Only a few people from Class One were not in the classroom; the rest were all there. Seeing Luo Qianqian standing on the podium, the girls who had been talking nonsense turned pale. They never would have imagined that Luo Qianqian would dare to come into the class to seek justice.
"Who are you, and what do you want in our class? Get lost if you have nothing better to do..."
Luo Qianqian looked indifferently at the bespectacled boy in the front row who had just spoken, "I am Luo Qianqian, the first-ranked Luo Qianqian in our grade." She finished speaking and coldly smiled at those girls, "I occasionally heard that some people in your class are dissatisfied with me, saying that I copied my grades. I’ve come here to address this issue."
The boy frowned and spoke to Luo Qianqian, "Even if someone is dissatisfied with you, they wouldn’t be stupid enough to say it out loud. Cheating once might be possible, but not for multiple terms—it can’t all be cheating. Our class doesn’t have that kind of senseless people."
"You are too confident. I encountered it personally. I am right here, you can raise any objections to my face. There’s no need to talk behind my back," Luo Qianqian snorted twice.
When Gu Yanzhi entered the classroom, he saw Luo Qianqian standing at the podium, glaring at her classmates. He was slightly startled and stood beside Luo Qianqian, asking in a low voice, "What’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing. They don’t even want the opportunity to challenge me, so on what basis do they say my achievements are copied?" Luo Qianqian hated being falsely accused of plagiarism because Luo Shufan had faced such a situation before. It almost turned her cheerful brother back into the brooding one from her previous life, the brother who would silently work and never complain.
Gu Yanzhi chuckled softly, "Even I admit defeat to you; how could they dare to challenge you?"
"You can’t represent everyone," Luo Qianqian coldly laughed at the girls, "With insufficient intelligence, dragging me down won’t change the fact that there will be another Zhang Qianqian or Li Qianqian surpassing you. If you don’t even have the courage to challenge me, what right do you have to gossip?"
"Don’t you ever pay attention to the grade-wide rankings?" Gu Yanzhi touched his nose, "My position is right behind yours."
Luo Qianqian was stunned for a moment, then smiled and patted Gu Yanzhi’s shoulder, "Not bad, not bad, but right now this is my problem. You can go play." She then continued to address the girls.
"If you’re so good, why didn’t you come to Class One? Why stay in that sponsored class?" A girl couldn’t bear Luo Qianqian’s gaze and the stares of her classmates, and she blurted out.
"Is the reason you’re hostile toward me because I’m not in Class One? Why didn’t I join Class One? It’s because of people like you, who could ruin my entire life!" Luo Qianqian sneered and turned to the students from Class Nine at the door. "Class Nine is no worse than you are. If we must differentiate, it’s only that we focus on different things. Class Nine can produce elites just as Class One can produce trash. Doesn’t the same teacher teach both you and Gu Yanzhi? Circumstances are just one factor. I prefer the kindness in Class Nine. Is it any of your business?"
"If you were in Class One, we wouldn’t target you," the girl continued.
"Am I afraid of being targeted? Naive. Your targeting won’t cause me to lose an ounce of flesh, nor will it diminish my abilities one bit. The environment is not the deciding factor of someone’s capabilities, merely an influencing factor." Luo Qianqian snorted, "There are also those in our class who target me. So what? A class is only outwardly calm; you know very well what goes on underneath, especially in a class like yours." It’s uncertain whether there are any real friends.
"Qianqian," Gu Yanzhi frowned. He had already understood the situation from Pei Yuhao outside, "Right now, the priority is identifying the source."
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. Did she not know who the source was? It was those who knew they were spreading rumors and still did it that she found more annoying.
She picked up a piece of chalk and wrote a math problem on the blackboard, "Only those who can solve this problem have the right to claim I’ve plagiarized. If you can’t even do this much, you should really go replenish your brains." After speaking, she threw down the chalk and left Class One.
"Cool." Pei Yuhao gave a thumbs up, "What are we doing now?"
"Going to find the one who has the biggest problem with me." Luo Qianqian huffed and headed towards Class Nine.
"What do you plan on doing?" Li Qi grabbed Luo Qianqian, "Don’t go too far, you might get disciplined."
Luo Qianqian patted the hand Li Qi was holding her with and whispered, "Don’t worry, I won’t do anything. Otherwise, what would I play with for the next three years?"
After Luo Qianqian said this, Li Qi felt a chill down her spine, but the feeling was fleeting, after all, Luo Qianqian was her friend.
When she returned to the classroom and saw Wang Wei sitting on the desk with his legs crossed, Luo Qianqian said coldly, "Wang Wei, the homeroom teacher is looking for you. It seems your parents have been called as well." Luo Qianqian shrugged, feigning ignorance.
Wang Wei turned pale, his parents called in? "Luo Qianqian, let me tell you, tattling to the homeroom teacher won’t do you any good. What can my parents do even if they come? You’re no saint yourself." If it weren’t for Wang Wei’s clenched fists, Luo Qianqian might have believed his bluff.
"What’s that?" Luo Qianqian chuckled lightly, "I don’t quite understand. I was just passing by the office, and the teacher asked me to pass the message. Have you done something wrong to me again?"
"No! I didn’t," Wang Wei hurriedly denied, but the homeroom teacher’s matter still unsettled him, "I didn’t tell anyone about your cheating or stealing test papers."
"Oh." Luo Qianqian waved her hand dismissively and sat down at her seat.
Li Qi was completely surprised. When had Luo Qianqian gone to the office? How did she not know or remember?
Pei Yuhao said coldly from the side, "Just catch a few more people and ask around. Surely not one or two will point out different people, right?"
Wang Wei’s face turned ashen. He glared at Pei Yuhao and then left the classroom for the office.
"Qianqian, why are you doing this? It’s affecting your reputation, isn’t it?" Li Qi frowned, "Why don’t you just call the police and catch him?"
"Heh, you’re the one who told me what his family does. If I really called the police, my reputation would be even more tarnished. Truth exists in time and in the minds of the wise. As the old saying goes, ’Time will tell.’" Luo Qianqian narrowed her eyes, she didn’t care that some people accused her of plagiarism. After all, she had the ability to outdo everyone since middle school.
"I don’t need time to see that Wang Wei is against you, always against you." Li Qi pouted, clearly dissatisfied with Luo Qianqian’s approach, "For such people, you should make an example out of them, administering small punishments to avert larger ones, killing one to warn a hundred, better to wrongly kill than to let off..."
"I got it, you’re good at Chinese, my dear." Luo Qianqian said, her face lined with exasperation. If Li Qi kept going, would they end up quartering and beheading people? The thought was too bloody; it would ruin her appetite for dinner.
"I’ll go buy a rooster tomorrow." Pei Yuhao nodded his head upon hearing Li Qi’s words, then made his stance clear.
"Buy a rooster for what?" Li Qi was just as curious and turned her head to look at him along with Luo Qianqian.
Pei Yuhao clenched his fist, "To kill the rooster to scare the monkey. Monkeys are hard to find, but roosters should do. Though, I’m not sure if killing a chicken in the classroom will get me disciplined? I’ve never killed a chicken before, should I hire someone to do the cutting?"
Luo Qianqian and Li Qi were stunned for a moment, then burst into loud laughter, "No wonder you’re failing Chinese."
