Wu Ziyue reached out and said, “Miss Lu, congratulations to you!”

Lu Jiaxin wanted to continue short selling, but by then, there weren’t as many short contracts available for her to purchase.

Wu Ziyue conveyed that he would try to get her a deal with his superiors, “Miss Lu, I can try to get up to 50 million for you, but no more than that, there just aren’t enough contracts available.”

Lu Jiaxin didn’t specify, only suggesting they discuss it in person as it was too complicated to explain over the phone.

When Nie Zhan arrived, he found many potted plants arranged in the courtyard and learnt from the servants that Lu Jiaxin had bought them that day.

Entering the living room, he noticed a bouquet of lush, vibrant roses on the table. Alright, this investment must have made quite a profit, otherwise the usually frugal Jiaxin wouldn’t be so willing to spend like this.

Upon seeing him, Nie Zhan asked, “Tell me, how much did you make on this investment?”

After sending everyone away, Lu Jiaxin, snuggling Nie Zhan’s arm, said coyly, “I made quite a bit, enough to short sell with 80 million.”

In October, she left 10 million greenbacks untouched, and this time, with the principal plus the profit amounting to 173 million greenbacks, she continued to short sell with 50 million at HSBC. Lu Jiaxin explained it was a legitimate business but did not reveal what it was, “Nie Zhan, can we manage to get some contracts to sell? If not, I need to make other plans.”

Nie Zhan smiled and said, “It’s possible, but not here in Hong Kong; we’ll have to go to Wall Street. Transfer the money to my account and I’ll buy them for you.”

After Lu Jiaxin agreed, she asked, “Nie Zhan, I want to leverage ten times on the purchase, can I?”

“Ten times is too high, how about five? I’m also buying in at a five times leverage.”

This time, Lu Jiaxin didn’t go along with him, insisting, “Ten times it is. I still think it will fall, a drop of one to two percent shouldn’t be a problem.”

In utilizing ten times leverage, she was actually being conservative. But the initial accumulation was now done, and though she would continue to make money in the financial circle, she planned to turn her core focus towards the real industry.

“Alright, I’ll transfer the money to your account tomorrow.”

Nie Zhan, seeing her decisiveness, said with a smile, “No wonder the villa is decked out in fresh flowers today, our Xinxin must have made a big fortune.”

Lu Jiaxin pulled him into the guest room, pointed at the bags on the bed, and said, “Look, all of these are for you.”

After putting it on, Nie Zhan raised his hand to Lu Jiaxin’s face and asked with a smile, “Does it look good?”

“Of course it looks good, I picked it out.”

Although Lu Jiaxin bought so many things for her, Nie Zhan still said, “Jiaxin, there’s no need to buy so many things for me. Now that you’re earning money, you should buy a villa, and once you have it, you can decorate and arrange it to your liking.”

This time, Lu Jiaxin readily agreed, “I plan to find a real estate agent in the next couple of days, tell them what I’m looking for, and buy something if it appeals to me.”

The decor in the house was alright, but she didn’t like the furnishings; Jiaxin didn’t want to touch other people’s property. Now that she was earning money and not as hard-pressed as before, buying a villa was on her agenda.

Nie Zhan inquired about her requirements.

Lu Jiaxin said, “I want to buy in Shallow Bay or Deep Water Bay, it must have a large garden and a swimming pool. It would be even better if there’s a basement, which could be turned into a gym and a home theater.”

She never even considered living on the mountain top. Right now, only top-tier tycoons reside there, and since she currently has no fame or company, even if she has the money, she wouldn’t qualify to buy there.

“A home theater? You like watching movies?”

In her previous life, she had been so busy that watching movies was her primary form of entertainment. She couldn’t spare the time for travel, but a movie took just three or four hours. After saying that, she pointed to the still steaming kettle, “Miss Cousin, the water is still here.”
