Chapter 299 - Chapter 299 Chapter 288 The Anxious He Zhuliang
Chapter 299: Chapter 288: The Anxious He Zhuliang Chapter 299: Chapter 288: The Anxious He Zhuliang Lu Jiaxin was a person who valued life, and He Zhuliang was not a pushover, so she didn’t blame Nie Zhan and Su Heyuan.
Su Heyuan said, “It was a good thing you didn’t come back. He Zhuliang took over all of Madam Guh’s assets in just three days, which shows that he had completely figured out the situation beforehand.”
Lu Jiaxin’s face changed as she asked, “All of Aunt’s assets were transferred to his name within three days?”
Su Heyuan hummed in confirmation and said, “The stocks that Madam Guh held have been sold off, and the retail spaces and properties she owned have been listed for sale through an agent. Now that real estate is picking up again, those well-located retail spaces and office buildings have all been sold.”
“By the way, the residence where Madam Guh lived is also up for sale by He Zhuliang. It’s already listed with an agency for two million four hundred and eighty thousand greenbacks.”
Madam Guh’s residence, known for its prime location, large living area, and a big garden, could easily be listed for three million greenbacks in the current market. But to get the money more quickly, He Zhuliang lowered the price to sell it off.
Lu Jiaxin, recalling words once said by Guh Xiuxiu, sighed to herself that she knew He Zhuliang very well after living under the same roof for over forty years, “Has that residence of my Aunt been sold yet?”
Su Heyuan indicated it hadn’t been sold, “A residence like that is beyond the reach of ordinary people, and most of those who can afford it believe in Feng Shui. Initially, Madam Guh was almost harmed, and when she was saved, she developed Alzheimer’s symptoms. Now she is unable to care for herself, and all her assets have fallen into the hands of her stepson. There’s news that the Feng Shui of the residence is bad.”
Although Lu Jiaxin felt one shouldn’t be superstitious, this rumor was actually beneficial at the moment, as it meant He Zhuliang wouldn’t be able to sell the house immediately.
“I know you all mean well for me, but Aunt and Haifan have both been taken away by him. I can’t just stand by and do nothing.”
Su Heyuan had not wanted to say it, but since Lu Jiaxin was considering coming back, he had to speak up, “The He family’s third branch heard that Madam Guh was taken back to the old house to divide up the inheritance, but they didn’t expect He Zhuliang to produce a will. He Lao San claimed the will was forged and wanted to sue him over it, but unexpectedly, He Lao San was involved in a car accident the next day. He didn’t die but was seriously injured; He Shengbin played with a woman’s feelings and, as a result, got stabbed in the belly twice and is now in the ICU. The second branch of the He family has immigrated to Australia and hasn’t shown up to this day. I guess they are too afraid to come back.”
“Jiaxin, I heard from Nie Zhan that Madam Guh once had a will expressing her wish to leave the property to you and Guh Haifan, and there was even a video recording of it. If He Zhuliang finds out about the will, you will be in danger. That’s why we didn’t tell you right away.”
Lu Jiaxin was afraid that He Zhuliang would harm her in his eagerness to monopolize the property, and so she dared not claim the shop in Causeway Bay but instead went around in circles to buy it herself. She just couldn’t bear the thought of Guh Xiuxiu and Guh Haifan in He Zhuliang’s hands and knew she couldn’t just hide.
Su Heyuan said, “Don’t worry, the properties under Madam Guh’s name should be liquidated within a month at most. Once you come back and make your stance clear, this issue will be resolved.”
Lu Jiaxin was somewhat puzzled by He Zhuliang’s urgency.
Su Heyuan added, “I call Guh Haifan every day, and Nie Zhan even visited Madam Guh and Guh Haifan at the He family old house yesterday. Madam Guh now fails to recognize people again, but the maid is taking very good care of her.”
“Jiaxin, once He Zhuliang has all the assets in hand, at most he will send Madam Guh to a nursing home, but he won’t harm her. Otherwise, if he even harms an incapacitated old lady, how ruthless and merciless that would be, and who would dare do business with him in the future?”
Lu Jiaxin didn’t say a word.
Knowing her temperament, Su Heyuan said, “Madam Guh has been good to you, and I understand you can’t bear to see her in a nursing home. However, to take care of her, you will need to wait until you’re eighteen. In your current state, even if you apply to the court, they won’t consider it unless He Zhuliang is mistreating Guh Xiuxiu. Before you turn eighteen, visit her often or have someone else visit her; the staff at the nursing home will take good care of her.”
With people visiting, the staff at the nursing home wouldn’t dare mistreat her, but it was impossible for her to feel as comfortable as she did living in the Guh Residence.
Su Heyuan saw that she didn’t speak of returning and secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He feared she wouldn’t listen to advice and would stubbornly come back. It was good she was aware of the danger and avoided it. “Jiaxin, I’ve already gathered forty million. With this forty million, I’ll buy thirty percent of your shares, and you’ll keep the remaining thirty percent for yourself.”
Lu Jiaxin was surprised and said, “The audit valued our company at one hundred million, thirty percent of the shares should only be worth thirty million. You’ve overpaid by ten million.”
Su Heyuan didn’t beat around the bush and said, “It is an overpayment, but without you, the company wouldn’t be worth as much.”
Lu Jiaxin replied, “That’s fine, but I want to transfer the remaining thirty percent to Xue Mao’s name. If you agree, we can sign the contract once I get back.”
After Su Heyuan agreed, he said, “In the future, you still need to be involved in the company’s affairs as the second-largest shareholder.”
With a smile, Lu Jiaxin said, “I don’t have time to get involved in the company’s production and operations, but I can still offer advice.”
That’s exactly what Su Heyuan wanted to hear, so he directly asked, “Jiaxin, what direction do you think our company should take in the future?”
Lu Jiaxin thought for a moment and answered, “I can’t explain it all in such a short time. I’ll write up a charter when I get back and give it to you after I return to Hong Kong.”
Su Heyuan was eager to see a written document, fearing he might forget what was said over a phone conversation.
The two talked for a long while before hanging up. Lu Jiaxin felt somewhat upset. She picked up a long-sleeved jacket, draped it over herself, and walked out.
Gu Wenfeng heard the noise and came out of the room, noticing Lu Jiaxin’s troubled expression, which he found odd. For the past half-month, she had been as energetic as if injected with adrenaline, climbing all five main peaks of Huashan Mountain–the east, south, west, north, and central peaks. Even when exhausted to the point of being unable to stand, she never gave up. He couldn’t understand why she was so obsessed with climbing mountains and insisted on reaching every summit.
Stepping outside, Gu Wenfeng asked, “Jiaxin, is there trouble in Hong Kong?”
Lu Jiaxin nodded and said, “He Zhuliang found out about Aunt’s illness, and the day he learned of it, he brought her and Haifan back to the old family house. Su Heyuan just told me that he has already liquidated many of Aunt’s assets, and the remainder should be handled within the next half a month.”
Gu Wenfeng’s expression changed abruptly, “Are you going back?”
Lu Jiaxin recounted the issue involving He Lao San and his sons, “Aunt recorded a message before, saying she wanted to leave her property to Haifan and me. Just to be safe, I won’t go back for the time being. I’ll return after all of Aunt’s assets are dealt with. By then there should be no problems.”
“So you’re saying you’re not going back for now?”
Lu Jiaxin shook her head and said, “Today I couldn’t get through to Nie Zhan. I’ll make a decision after I speak with him.”
If Gu Xiuxiu and Guh Haifan received good care after returning to the old family house, then she could afford to go back half a month later. Being a minor herself, she couldn’t obtain guardianship of Xiuxiu and Haifan, and it was not wise to confront the He Family head-on. However, if the two were not well-cared for and in danger, she would have to go back, or she would never have peace of conscience for the rest of her life.
The bomb had exploded, and Guh Wenfeng didn’t persuade her not to go. Whether to stay or return was for Lu Jiaxin to decide for herself, “If you decide to go back, we need to take more people with us.”
“Alright.”
