Chapter 86: Back to Afloria; Arrangement
"Fuck that guy!" Celis sat on the blue ground of the Azure world. His left arm was slowly healing, but his face was filled with anger.
The fight, though remarkable, was still a loss for Celis in the end.
But what could he expect? The opponent he faced was a successor like him, so his talent was no less.
Plus, he was a rank higher than him, making him incredibly powerful.
"I swear, next time I run into his dumbass face, I’ll smash it in!" He growled, but his face winced as the healing process was far from peaceful.
It was happening visibly fast, but the anger boiled within him.
"For now, I’ll leave Zulmasharr." He sighed. Although the Azure world had everything he needed to rank up for a while, he couldn’t sit still in such a place for too long.
He enjoyed different excitements and adventures. He had a mission, but that could be put aside for now.
Celis spent another hour healing before stepping out of the Azure world once again.
He reentered the destroyed castle—or whatever was left of it. Damon was long gone, and unfortunately, Celis hadn’t been able to injure the man too much. Despite his slightly more powerful Blood Azure, it was still not enough to match a stronger successor.
Stepping outside, he didn’t take his beast form. Though it made him stronger, his current strength was still formidable.
It would easily decimate any Valgath, even matching a Prince. As for his beast form, Celis was confident it was more powerful than Aglazeth’s, but he couldn’t be certain—he had never seen Aglazeth at his strongest.
Pressing his foot against an invisible wall, he pushed into the air, flying rapidly toward a different portal—the one in the Nor region, the exact one Damon had come from.
"If Fyr and the others survived, they would have escaped there." He sighed deeply, thinking about the friends he had lost while hoping Fyr and the rest had made it out alive.
With the torture and battle against Damon, their escape had slipped his mind.
Now that he remembered, he needed to find them as soon as possible. He had to make sure they were alright.
He rushed through the region but suddenly halted. Looking around, shock overtook him.
"Where is the Eyes of Dripping Blood?!"
What stood before him was a section of the Land of the Mother.
Normally, in this direction, the Eyes of Dripping Blood should have been there. He had just been there before, so he knew it should have been.
Yet now, it was gone.
Instead, there was only the Land of the Mother—and even then, it was an odd part of the land.
What is going on? He frowned and dived down.
He noticed a few disciples moving through the region.
"You guys." Landing firmly on the ground, he found a group of Ignited Core
disciples. Why are these guys here? They should be in a completely different area, much farther away. The training area that the Green One group had been sent to was far from the weaker zones. Normally, one would have to traverse the Land of the Mother, an extremely vast region, before reaching where the weaker disciples trained.
"Senior Celis!" The disciples, who had been walking lazily through the demonic forest, heard the noise. When they saw who it was, they quickly bowed.
"Why are you guys here?" He landed and looked at the group with a puzzled expression. "Shouldn’t you be in the Vashra and Morruk territories?"
Although the Land of the Mother contained Morruk and Vashra, it was more of a transition region. It was actually known for the Nulith demons, which were incredibly common.
Plus, there was no portal that directly connected to the Land of the Mother.
"We don’t know." The leader of the group shrugged. "We were supposed to be in the Pit of Retch, but suddenly we found ourselves here."
"Yeah, it was weird. Like, we had just entered the Pit, and suddenly, we found ourselves in the Land of the Mother." Another disciple spoke up, sighing.
"How long ago was this?" Celis wondered. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed since he had been in the Azure world, but he knew it hadn’t been too long.
"It was hours ago," the disciple answered. "It was crazy. We even saw a large section of the Land of the Mother suddenly disappear."
"Really?" Celis rubbed his chin. That must be the successor. Master did say he was here.
"Really. We’re trying to figure out how to get back right now." They sighed. Although the Land of the Mother contained Vashra and Morruk, they were rare. The majority of demons were Nulith, which were useless for their training.
"Thanks for the information." Celis then pulled out a map and tossed it to them. "This should lead you guys back."
Then, without hesitation, he flew away—his speed blinding to them.
"Did Senior Celis get stronger?" They all wondered, shocked by his speed.
"He’s always getting stronger." One of them sighed. "It’s only us who make slow progress. He is a genius."
"That’s true." Despite feeling a bit disheartened, they didn’t dwell on the topic for too long. Instead, they quickly gathered around the map, trying to find their way back.
"So, the heir is here somewhere?" Celis was very interested in this so-called heir—said to be world-destroying and world-changing.
A talent like no other.
The true leader of Zulmasharr.
Such a being was meant to be at the peak.
And now, Celis was witnessing signs of his work—like the sudden disappearance of an entire section of the Land of the Mother.
Even Demon Lords and Demon Gods couldn’t do such a thing.
"Well, I can think about that later. First, I need to find out what happened to the guys."
He sped up, blasting through the air.
————————————————————————
"What? You want me to move into his mansion?" Xia looked at her dad in shock.
It was the middle of the night, yet this was the news she was given.
"I’m asking you to move into one of the large rooms in his large mansion, nothing else." Julian looked at her in puzzlement but sighed internally.
So, that’s why she’s acting so annoyed. She’s interested. But this soon?
He had expected it to happen eventually, but not this fast—it was outside his expectations.
"Still, Dad, that’s not alright." She puffed her cheeks. "I want to stay here, far away from that annoying guy!"
You could have just said the first part, but the second part... jeez.
Julian didn’t think his daughter was in love or anything of that nature, but just having interest was enough to plant the seeds. It was only a matter of time before something happened.
It’s fine. You wanted this anyway. Plus, that guy is strong. Although suspicious, if I can learn more and ensure there’s nothing dangerous about him, then that would be ideal.
Julian walked over and patted her head lovingly.
"Why are you so frustrated? Normally, you listen to me. What happened?" He was still curious about what had made his daughter act out this way.
"This guy..." She fumed, thinking about how he had simply ignored her. She couldn’t help but feel humiliated—hurt, even.
He’s the first guy I show even a little interest in, and he just rubs it in—no, completely ignores me!
Seeing her unwillingness to answer, Julian sighed and sat his daughter down.
"Xia, I actually wanted to talk to you about something."
Seeing how she was already showing interest without him having to do anything, he decided to help things along.
You owe me one, Yur.
"What is it?" She was still frustrated, but she never disrespected her father.
"Well." He felt troubled, unsure how to bring up the topic. "It’s about Yur. I think he’s powerful enough to protect you."
"He’s already doing that." She frowned, not understanding what her father was trying to say.
Who could blame her? Julian was a loving father, but he had never spoken about topics like this before.
"That’s not what I mean." He scratched the back of his head. "If you want... if you’re interested, I can maybe arrange something between you and him?"
"What?" She shot up, staring at him in shock. "What do you mean arrange?"
"Yur is now a duke. He is powerful. And honestly... aside from his background, he is the best match for you."
Julian didn’t completely believe his own words, but in the end, Yur was his best bet for keeping Xia safe.
"Are you asking me to marry him?" She gawked at him.
"I’m only saying that if you want to start something, I can try and help." Julian felt his energy drain just making these statements.
Xia looked at him in surprise but then thought back to Yur’s handsome face and his cool, indifferent demeanor.
Though he was blunt and did as he pleased... was that so bad?
He didn’t hide his thoughts, which in her book was a great thing.
Although she was still annoyed by his attitude toward her, her father’s words stirred a different kind of excitement.
Now that my dad seems okay with this... I should give it another try!
She blushed, thinking about how they could be married soon.
And the thought of doing things...
