Chapter 59: Interrogation; Return to Barren Canyon
[WARNING: The first scene is not pleasant to read, so skip if you will (but this is the type of book this is). Just keep in mind, the first scene is against someone who is not meant to be good, someone who has done worse to innocent people. All fiction, so read ahead knowing such things)

"Where am I?!"
The naked leader looked around, but he couldn’t see a thing. Everything was shrouded in complete darkness. It was blinding.
He felt his arms bound behind his back by something he couldn’t break through. His legs were twisted at an odd angle, restrained just as tightly. Yet, the worst part was the seething pain radiating from his crotch.
At first, he didn’t feel anything. Then, like a delayed nightmare, the pain began to register in his mind.
What started as a dull burning sensation quickly transformed into a mind-shattering agony.
"ARGH!" It wasn’t just his crotch. The pain spread to his stomach, to his brain.
It was nauseating—excruciating.
"How does it feel?" A voice whispered into his ear.
The same voice he had heard before everything went black.
"Let me go! I’ll fuck you up!" The man growled through the pain, but his voice trembled, and his body betrayed him—tears threatened to spill.
"That makes me want to let you go even less." The voice was mocking, amused. "But let me help you with something."
Suddenly, a powerful grip clamped onto his chin, forcing his mouth open.
"UGH!" He struggled, but it was futile. The strength holding him down was something far beyond his ability to resist.
"Here. Make sure you savour this." Something soft and heavy was shoved into his mouth. It was forced in, over and over again. No matter how much he fought, his mouth remained pried open.
"Ugh! Ugh!" The constant smacking against his lips, his tongue, his throat—
He knew. Even if he didn’t want to admit it, he knew. Fear curdled inside him, twisting into revulsion.
Then, the voice was next to his ear again, the warm breath sending shivers down his spine. "Want to see what you’re tasting right now?"
Light flooded back into the space. His eyes adjusted slowly. And then he saw it. A massive, red, veined monstrosity, right in front of his face.
It was too large for a human mouth to handle, but that wasn’t the worst part. It belonged to a demon.
A disgusting, hideous, grinning demon. Though its face barely resembled anything human, he could see it—the blush of excitement. The sickening pleasure.
"ARGHH!!" He tried to bite down, but he couldn’t. His jaw was locked open, the restraints unforgiving.
"Now, now, don’t get so worked up." The voice was mocking. Cold. "I saw back then how much you enjoyed these things near your mouth. So I thought, why stop at a simple kiss?"
The leader thrashed, his muffled screams filling the dark space.
"Master, let’s let him enjoy this a little longer before we ask questions." The whispering voice belonged to Damon. "These bastards did far worse to their victims. Let him go through something similar."
"No issue." The second voice was calm. Indifferent. The Black Lord stood beside Damon, completely unfazed by the horrific act unfolding before them.
Demonic cultivators were the most reviled beings among humans. They did things that were truly monstrous. Things beyond forgiveness.
"Alright then." Damon’s lips curled into a twisted grin. "Time for you to bend over." His voice was eerily playful.
"Let the interrogation—"
He took a step closer.
"I mean penetration—begin."
"AGHHHH!!!"
————————————————————————
Jisvruul waited with Ris for a few days. The time to meet was approaching, and Velmira would arrive soon.
"Jisvruul!" A loud voice rang from outside the tower. "Come out!"
Without hesitation, he grabbed Ris by the nape and shot into the sky. "Let’s go now."
Once in the air, he spotted Velmira, her expression brimming with satisfaction. "Why are you happy?"
Velmira glanced at Ris before grinning. "So, you found her?" She then answered his question. "I got my revenge. I killed those bastards—so many of them!"
"Y-you’re the Mother of Pus?"
Velmira’s gaze snapped to Ris. "Shut up!" She scowled. "My name is Velmira. Vel. Mira. Do not call me anything else."
From the very start, Velmira found Ris irritating.
"Alright, let’s go now," Jisvruul interjected, his impatience growing. "Master said we need to go to the Barren Canyon."
"Fine, let’s go then." Velmira nodded, still basking in the thrill of her vengeance. She shot one last glare at Ris before flying ahead.
Why is Velmira here?!
Ris had countless questions, but Yur remained inside Jisvruul, and it was clear neither Velmira nor Jisvruul cared for her presence.
Jisvruul made that abundantly clear. She had no choice but to follow.
They flew through the sky, ignoring the groups of demons scattered across the land. Within two hours, they reached the border.
"Why are there so many demons?" Ris finally spoke her thoughts aloud.
Neither of them responded.
"Jisvruul, no need to fight—just ram through them," Velmira said with a shrug.
She had already slain hundreds of Mawstriders and dozens of Husked Lords. She had no desire for more bloodshed.
Jisvruul, though craving more carnage, prioritized Yur’s orders above all else.
"Let’s go then."
With a smirk, they dove headfirst into the mass of demons. For Velmira, getting past them was effortless, but Jisvruul found it a bit more difficult. He was strong, but their sheer numbers were an obstacle.
"ARAA!" Flying past, he opened his mouth and unleashed a piercing shriek, freezing the Husked Lords for a brief second—just enough time to slip through.
Ris, still clutched in his grip, screamed as blood gushed from her eyes and mouth.
The shriek tore through her skull, sending excruciating waves of pain through her head.
"S-s-stop..." She barely managed to whisper before falling unconscious.
As an instinctive defence, she transformed, her horns and wings manifesting.
Jisvruul glanced down, watching her struggle weakly.
Pathetic.
Despite having access to a higher tier of essence, she was useless. Jisvruul’s demonic essence was pure—far beyond hers.
"Stay still. You’re annoying." His grip tightened slightly. "If not for Master, I would have eaten you."
Ris, barely conscious, couldn’t process his words. "Huh...?"
Jisvruul lowered his head, his silver eyes glowing as they locked onto hers. "Shut. Up."
The words paralyzed her. A cold wave of fear crashed over her. For the first time in her life, she felt true terror.
Jisvruul’s gaze wasn’t just dangerous—it was consuming. He wasn’t looking at her. He was looking into her.
From ahead, Velmira waved. "Vru, this way."
She had given him the nickname and had grown accustomed to using it. Since their bloodlines were closely linked and both served Yur, she treated him in a more familial way. Jisvruul, over time, had come to trust her.
Spotting her, he bolted toward her.
Jisvruul, once you reach the Barren Canyon border, I’ll open a portal. Everyone will enter.
Understood, Master.
"You, stay behind me now." Unlike Velmira, Jisvruul was still rough in how he spoke to her. Rarely did he ever call her by name.
"Why?" She frowned, flying slightly ahead.
"Master said." That was all the explanation she got.
"Ok." Nodding, she slowed and fell behind him.
As they soared over the Land of the Mother, the world below blurred beneath them.
The eerie, hauntingly beautiful trees flashed past, their shadows stretching and twisting in unnatural patterns.
"Vru, where’s the Barren Canyon? It’s not there."
With her keen eyesight, she scanned far ahead. But no matter how hard she focused, the canyon was missing. She had been there before—but never stayed long. The land was too barren to be of use to her.
"Master will create a portal." Jisvruul didn’t know how it worked. But he didn’t care. Yur’s words were absolute.
"Huh?"
Velmira raised an eyebrow. Though she had more questions, she knew Jisvruul wouldn’t answer.
[Creating Portal to Home]
A large portal appeared before them. A gateway. Beyond its swirling veil, a different world was visible.
Towering trees.
A sky stained in shadow.
Distant creatures drifting in the air.
The Barren Canyon.
"That’s it."
Jisvruul wasted no time. He flew straight through, dragging Ris with him. Velmira followed without hesitation.
Finally back.
