Chapter 104: Infiltrating Welit
Velmira and Yur traveled the whole day after waking up.
The distance between the two kingdoms was massive, but with the speed of the two surpassing human standards, they managed to reach their destination by morning the next day.
"So, this is the capital of Welit?" Yur stared at the city entrance and found it more heavily guarded than Freau. Even the entrance itself had guards who were already at the third rank.
Velmira wore a veil to make sure she didn’t attract too much attention. Even if she hid all of her aura, her beauty alone would attract unwanted attention, which would be against the plan.
Jisvruul, how are things with Renri? Yur quickly communicated with Jisvruul. Aside from his first task, Jisvruul was helping him with the Rite of the Hollow as well.
Master, based on your instructions, I have completed two of the ritual circles. I am on my way to complete the next one.
He nodded at Jisvruul’s quick work. If you need more, let me know.
Master, Renri may not be enough for this.
Rubbing his chin, Yur thought of another method. I’ll find a way to send another. Just continue for now.
Yes, Master!
Also, the King will be heading towards Verlont Mortal Kingdom. Nyz, trail him and use this chance to rank up.
Yes, Master.
The reply came quickly, and Yur turned to Velmira. "You and I will begin the plan here."
"Why are we making it so intricate? I can get it done in an instant," she said with a bit of doubt. "No one in Vestranor can compete with me."
"The Rite does not work that way. It needs to be done in a particular manner," he said. "Just do as you’re told."
She nodded, sighing slightly.
Yur took the lead and walked towards the guards.
"Identity," one guard called out.
Yur didn’t bring anything out. Instead, he looked at them directly, his eyes shining faintly. "Make way."
"Y-yes." One of the guards quickly stepped aside.
Without hesitation, Yur entered the city, finding the style to be very similar to Freau. It was bustling with mortals as well as cultivators, and shops filled the streets. However, the capital of Welit appeared stronger than Freau.
The people here had a higher average cultivation rank, which was clear at a glance.
There were also many disciples from sects wandering around the area. Yur noticed that unlike Freau, which mostly had ordinary citizens and some rogue cultivators, Welit’s capital was filled with sect disciples who roamed freely, entering shops and gathering together.
Though these disciples were not terribly powerful, Yur still noticed several third-ranked cultivators—the same rank as Renri, who was among Freau’s top five.
"Velmira, go find out if the Luminous Heart cultivators are in the city," Yur said. With the war about to fully break out, it would be difficult to find any higher-ups still in the city. Most would be positioned elsewhere, preparing for battle. "Also, see if you can find someone with royal blood."
"Understood." She nodded and vanished from her spot.
Yur began exploring the city more thoroughly. Unlike Freau, which had expansive territory, Welit was much more condensed. It had only two major cities, with a few distant trade cities.
Despite this, Welit still had a larger population and a stronger army than Freau. That was partly due to Raging Dragon’s influence, but Welit overall appeared more prosperous despite Freau having around five major cities.
He explored the city carefully, searching for something specific.
Zul, based on the map you saw in Freau, how close do you think that landmark is? he asked.

Suddenly, Yur saw a green trail appear before him, leading through alleyways and between shops.
With his gaze locked on the trail, he began to follow it.
"Hey, young man. Where are you going?" As he passed a stall selling fruits and vegetables, the man behind it suddenly called out to him. "The alleys aren’t safe; you shouldn’t go in there."
Turning his head, Yur looked at the man. He stared quietly, noticing something odd.
What’s with the Glythari? They’re all around him. Because of his Eyes of Lingering Glyphs, Yur could constantly see the Glythari. Usually, they were scattered everywhere, but this man was completely surrounded by them, most being Glythari he didn’t yet understand.
Walking over, Yur smiled at the man. "I see. I just lost something and thought it might be there."
"What could you have lost in an alley?" the man raised an eyebrow.
"A special coin," Yur sighed. "A group of guys attacked me and stole it along with other things. But the coin is important—it was left to me by my late mother."
"I see." The man nodded, sighing. "Ever since the war started, this place has been filled with more rowdy people. The disciples are especially arrogant." He spoke with a frown. "They always take food from me without paying. I can’t do a thing."
"But you’re not a weak man, right?" Yur instantly knew the stall owner wasn’t a simple mortal. His aura was subtle, yet Yur could sense it—Shining Core realm.
Hearing this, the man looked at Yur seriously. "You could tell?"
"I’m also a cultivator." Yur nodded. "Though I can’t tell exactly how powerful you are, I know you’re stronger than me, at least." Yur allowed some of his aura to seep out, revealing his Seeker of Embers cultivation.
"You’re quite strong for your age. Are you a disciple as well?" he asked curiously.
"No. I’m a rogue cultivator—which is why I got robbed." Yur shook his head. Inwardly, he grew alert about the stall owner. This person was unusual and powerful, not just an ordinary cultivator.
"Here, why don’t I help you?" the man offered.
"What about your shop?" Yur asked. "Don’t you need to watch it?"
"Not like I get any sales." The man shrugged. "Besides, those disciple kids piss me off too. Maybe I’ll teach them a lesson."
Yur watched him quickly close up the shop.
"Alright, let’s go." The man smiled as he approached.
"Thank you again." Yur gave a slight bow.
"No need. Those people irritate me too. You seem like a good guy, so why not help?" The man lifted his hand and patted Yur’s shoulder.

Seeing this message, a faint smirk appeared on Yur’s face, but he didn’t stop the infiltration. There was no need. With his Ashen Veil, he could simply store it away.
"Let’s go then," the man said, smiling gently.

"Let go of me!" Inside a dimly lit room, a young man was chained to the wall. His single remaining arm was bound, and his legs were reduced to mere stumps.
"Calm down." A shadowy figure spoke from beyond the bars. "This will be over quickly." The figure stepped forward, grabbing the chained man’s remaining arm.
"No! No!" the young man shrieked, begging desperately. "Please! I’ll do anything! No more!"
"This counts as anything, no?" A cruel smirk appeared on the figure’s face.
Clutching the arm tightly, he ignored the chained man’s horrified gaze.
"Ah! AH!" His howls filled the cell.
