Chapter 103: A Guest (2)

After peeking through the security viewer, Shirley’s mother slowly opened the door.

But as soon as she saw who stood outside, her body trembled.

"Mom? Who is it?" Shirley asked, stepping forward curiously.

The moment her eyes landed on the visitors, she froze in disbelief.

"You—! You’re that guy from earlier. The one at the accident! Why are you here? Don’t tell me... you followed me?" she asked, her brows furrowing in suspicion as she stared at Igaris.

But her mother didn’t listen to her. On the contrary, her eyes welled with tears, and her voice quivered.

"Uncle Jeffrey... it’s really you..." she whispered, almost breathless. "It’s been ten years... You finally remembered us?"

The weight of ten years of sorrow, longing, and grief trembled in her voice as she stepped forward, visibly shaken.

"It’s nice to see you again, Lady Sophia," Jeffrey said with a warm smile. "Sorry to disturb your peace, but your nephew has come to visit you."

He stepped aside slightly and gestured toward Igaris.

"Hello, Aunt," Igaris said with a respectful half-bow. "I apologize for the intrusion."

Sophia’s eyes widened as she looked closely at him. She didn’t recognise the young man immediately. But her heart stirred with both shock and nostalgia.

She had left the Vance household behind, along with her husband, when news broke that Vance family had allegedly colluded with the Skadi Empire to sabotage the Earth Faction during the war. The betrayal had been too much for her to accept, and in anger, she had severed ties—never knowing the full truth behind what really happened.

"My nephew?" she whispered, scanning his features. "You mean... he’s Brother-in-law’s second son Igaris? But I thought he was... crippled."

Jeffrey beamed with pride. "He was," he said. "But recently, he awakened the God Particle, and initiated his first World Dive. It restored his physique entirely. Isn’t that incredible?"

Sophia blinked, struggling to process it all.

By her side, her daughter Shirley was more stunned.

"Igaris?" Shirley echoed, turning to her cousin in disbelief. Her eyes widened as the realization dawned on her. He looked nothing like the sickly child she remembered from their early days in the Vance estate. He had become tall, handsome—almost unrecognizably so.

"Wait... They actually let him enter the World Dungeon after everything they did to the Vance family?" Sophia asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

"Yes," Igaris replied, his hand clenching into a fist. "But I had to trade Brother Izroth’s honor for the opportunity."

Sophia’s expression softened as she looked at her nephew, pain and understanding flickering in her eyes.

"I see... Come inside, Igaris. Let’s talk more in detail."

She opened the door fully, this time with a warmth that hadn’t been there moments before.

Later, seated on the sofa in the modest but well-kept living room, Igaris recounted his story.

He spoke of his escape from Guava City, of the threats looming over him, and most importantly, his purpose in coming to Stargaze City.

"I’m here to enter the World Dungeon located in this city," he explained in his steady tone. "It’s called the Martial Sanctuary."

Sophia raised a brow. "I’ve heard of that one. It’s said to be extremely dangerous, even more than others. It’s only meant for those who’ve already chosen the path of the Martial Warrior. Are you Martial Warrior Igaris?"

"No." He shook his head. "I know the World inside the Martial Sanctuary nurtures only those on that path. But It’s the perfect place for my next mission."

He paused before continuing, eyes sharp with determination.

"I’m not just trying to grow stronger for myself. My goal is to build an unshakable army inside that world, an empire strong enough to crush the Skadi Empire once and for all."

The room fell quiet. Even Shirley, who had been quietly listening from the corner, couldn’t hide the awe in her eyes. This wasn’t the cousin she remembered. This was someone different. He was determined, resolute, and possibly... destined for something greater.

His aunt looked at him with visible doubt. "You want to build an Empire? But how, Igaris? You can’t bring people out of those worlds. No one can."

Igaris offered a faint smile. "I have my own ways, Aunt Sophia. Secret ones. You don’t have to worry about that. All I ask is a place to stay until my departure. And if that’s too much, Jeffrey and I can find somewhere else."

"Huh? What are you saying nephew?" Sophia stepped forward, placing a hand over her chest. "You’re my elder sister’s son. Why would I ever turn you away? Yes, I left House Vance after what I believed to be a betrayal... but now I know the truth. Their sacrifice, their fall—it shouldn’t be in vain. You will carry their legacy forward. You will free this land from the Skadi Empire’s grip."

Her voice grew firmer, laced with conviction. "And we’ll help you make that happen."

Shirley, standing nearby, hesitated a moment before speaking up. "I’m with you too, Igaris." Her voice was quieter, more personal. A faint blush rose to her cheeks. "I want to help you achieve your goal..."

Igaris turned to her, his eyes appreciative but unaware of the emotion behind her words. "Then I won’t be a jerk and reject your support, Shirley," he said with a slight smile. "May we have a happy cooperation."

They shook hands as if marking a relationship that would rembered throughout the history. In a tale of companionship and love.

Inside His Inner World

Evernight finally stirred from her long slumber, rising slowly with a relaxed sigh. She felt refreshed—light, unburdened.

Then the memories came flooding back.

The Sun God Helios. His divine wrath. Her final scream before death.

But she was still here.

"So... my gamble paid off. I’m not dead after all. Even that fool of a god couldn’t detect my survival. How fascinating..."

Her sultry lips curled into a wicked grin.

"My Liege’s ability truly defies the divine."

"What are you muttering about, Second Master?"

The hollow, monotone voice of Malthius reached her ears, interrupting her thoughts.

Evernight blinked, then turned toward the source of the voice. Malthius stood with his usual blank expression. Beside him were Serynthia, Dred, Alpha, and several others—all staring at her curiously.

She immediately rose to her full height, brushing dust from her robes with a flick.

"It’s not something that concerns you, Bald Head," she replied, her voice laced with teasing disdain.

"I am not Bald though..."

"Forget it. Tell me where are we now?"

Malthius replied calmly. "We have been transported into Master Igaris’ Home World, it seems."

Evernight’s eyes widened slightly, intrigued. "Ohhh... now this is interesting."
