Race With a Heart -
Chapter 235: He Is His Life, Now and Forever
Chapter 235: He Is His Life, Now and Forever
"I have long since forgiven you for how things started between us," Martin explained. "You know, what was going on between us at the time was... difficult for me. For many reasons. I think I was a hair’s breadth away from hating you and running away from the Fergus Stables."
Steve grimaced. He was so ashamed of that past! He would give anything to change it and start all over again, decently. Only then, would something exist between him and Martin? Would either of them have taken the first step to their relationship together? Would it have occurred to either of them to take an interest in the other?
Paxton’s heart beat hard. It would happen, which it would, but at least Martin would not be hurt by him so much that he still painfully remembered that wound.
"You would have had the right to do that," he replied grimly and sincerely.
"Yes, I would have," he admitted. "But then Jack appeared by my side and... it was he who helped me understand what was going on inside me and... with you. If Jack hadn’t explained things to me then, I wouldn’t have been able to look at it all from a different angle and accept... sex with a man."
"I was so clueless then... Such a fucking idiot..."
"You were," Martin admitted, and after a moment, all of a sudden, the whole interior was drowned in his beautiful, radiant smile. "But now you are completely different, and I really love you very much."
Steve humbled upon hearing these words. If there is anything in the world that can assist in redemption, then surely that something is love. Until he knew Martin and his love, he was just a scrap of a human being. He was nothing. His partner was the best this world had to offer Paxton. He not only forgave Steve for his unforgivable behavior, but also saved him from the nothingness into which he was sinking. If it weren’t for Martin and his love...
"I love you too," he assured from the bottom of his heart. "Do you know that it’s thanks to you that I’m not that me anymore?"
"I know," Martin admitted and reddened even more. "But I wouldn’t have plucked up that courage if it weren’t for Jack. When I heard that he was gay too, I just stopped being embarrassed. If a super guy like him can hang out with men, so can I..."
"Hey, and me? I’m not a super guy?"
"At the time I wasn’t so sure about that," sighed Martin.
"And now?"
"After all, I’m with you, no?"
"So what?" Paxton inched closer to his lips, his heart beating enthusiastically. "Will you try on the track to make me feel the pressure in front of the young contender for next year’s champion?"
Martin was all red, his breathing shallow and his eyes lit up. He looked like the embodiment of innocence exploring its sexuality. Absolutely appealing!
"I don’t know what’s going to happen next year," he said quietly, "but in this race I’m not going to give you any discount."
"My boy!" the heart of Steve jumped up at a gallop. He couldn’t resist and plunged his lips into Martin’s again. They were as soft and juicy as a ripe cherry. Their taste gave him an electrifying delight he had not experienced from any other lips.
Martin was more than willing to kiss him and their tongues came together again. His breath was burning with passion and hunger. A request from Karl echoed silently in Steve’s head, asking him to spare Martin’s ass so that he could feel comfortable spending time behind the wheel of the car. But Karl didn’t say anything about the front end, and Paxton knew how uncomfortable it was to sit with a bulge between his legs.
His hand slid lower and touched Martin’s crotch. His boyfriend was hardening. So was he. Some coaches forbade their athletes to have sex before competitions believing that they were then more tense, more hungry to win. These two didn’t have to worry about such things. They craved sex with each other even after sex.
His lips stroked Martin’s and his hand gently caressed his member.
"Uhm... um..." muttered Martin delightedly and at the same moment Steve felt his hand through his pants. Joyful excitement flooded his heart. Suddenly a bit of sanity came over him.
"We don’t have... much time," he muttered through the kiss.
However, he did not want to stop. He couldn’t. If he didn’t satisfy the aroused Martin now, he would torment himself for hours. He could do this if it were a casual lover, but there was nothing casual about Martin. Martin was his life.
"Sixty... nine..." muttered the younger man.
"Oh...!" groaned a pleasantly surprised Steve. "You’re so naughty...!"
"I’m in love... Oh, Steve... quickly!"
Steve’s heart melted in happiness and joy. This boy, Martin, was absolutely the best thing that could happen to him in life. He was his happiness and his very life. If someone wanted to take him away from him for any reason - he would regret having been born. Martin was his now and forever.

"I’m sorry you had to wait, Mr. Lambert," announced Michael Moore’s secretary. "The shareholders are concerned about the withdrawal of such a large sum of money and want to speak directly with the chairman, which, as you know, is currently impossible."
"It’s all right. In the meantime, I’ve contacted the stable," he replied mildly although there wasn’t even a single cell inside of him that wasn’t raging with anxiety. "What is Michael’s health condition really like?"
"Very severe," the secretary admitted. "Chairman Moore ignored earlier warning symptoms. He never had time to see a doctor, so his condition became serious. Today’s stress caused heart failure. The chairman should have undergone surgery immediately after he fainted, but he refused to undergo it because of Mr. Kevin. This situation is..."
The secretary shook his head. The expression of concern on his face was clear. How many years had he worked for Michael? Did he remember Kevin as a teenager? Or did he still remember him as a child? Was he also worried about him? Judging by his face, yes, he was worried. The Moore’s were lucky to have an employee who, despite such a difficult situation, does not lose his cool. If it had been Jack, he probably would have crumbled into tiny pieces.
Black tentacles of fear crept down Jack’s throat filling it so that there was not enough room for oxygen. Kevin was now God knows where, trapped, beaten, perhaps struggling with all his might not to give in to terror. The uncertainty of what would happen to him in a moment may have obscured his vision and filled him with even thicker sticky tentacles of fear than Jack’s. Whether he waited for rescue or, in desperation, tried to break free himself and....
Lambert trembled torn between the operating room and this unknown place where his love was. He felt like he should be somewhere, anywhere, at that moment, where he could be closer to bringing Kevin home, but he had no idea where such a place was. Besides, Michael, who was on the operating table, needed him now, too. He was tough and strong, but he was only human. He needed someone by his side who would be family to him. If anything at the operation went wrong, he should have someone by his side to take his hand and reassure him that he was not alone... The only thing left for Jack now was to believe that Paul and his colleagues would do their part and bring Kevin back.
Jack sat down heavily on a chair in the hallway. Bent over, he hid his face in his hands. He could not help either Kevin or his father. He was totally useless!
"Don’t worry so much, Mr. Lambert," the secretary put a hand on his shoulder. "This business has its rules. And its honor. Young Mr. Moore will surely come back to us soon."
Jack wanted to believe that, but he couldn’t help the sickening tentacles of fear pushing up his throat. If criminals had honor and respected the lives of others, they wouldn’t commit crimes. Kevin was a good man, intelligent, honest and hardworking. He did nothing to deserve such horrible treatment. He didn’t even benefit from his father’s money. Why did he have to fall victim to something so terrible? Why must he experience the horror of fearing for his own life? Someone who has honor doesn’t do such a thing to other people.
"Yes, you’re certainly right," he replied rubbing his face. He had to be strong. He couldn’t panic. The tentacles were filling him, choking him, but he could do nothing but wait and not panic.
He noticed that his hands were trembling. If he were to sit behind the wheel of a race car at that moment, he would probably crash at the first turn. All his work, all his career at that moment was nothing to him. He would have given up all his trophies and this year’s title just for Kevin to be safe in his arms right now. If anything happens to Kevin....
Jack clasped his hands together. ’Stop trembling, damn it!" he instructed. They stopped. He took a deep breath.
Everything will be fine, he assured himself. Everything will be fine. Kevin will come back and Jack will flood him with his love to make him forget everything bad. Yes, that’s exactly what he will do. Because Kevin belonged to him. Kevin was his life now and forever.
