Race With a Heart
Chapter 184: Waiting For the Second Lesson

Chapter 184: Waiting For the Second Lesson

"Do you remember anything from your childhood? Before you came to an orphanage?" Jack asked his brother. It was better to know if Paul had any memory base, but the younger man just shook his head.

"Only you. You told me not to be afraid and to really feel safe, but I don’t know what to be afraid of, why did you protect me?"

"Our parents got married very young," Lambert began to explain. "Neither of them were ready to marry, so they weren’t getting along well. They quarreled a lot ... I didn’t want you to hear them scream and see how they were acting. You were still very small and I, I got used to it."

"Really?" Doubtingly asked Paul. "Can you get used to something like this?"

"You can," announced Jack. "If you have no other choice, you can get used to everything."

It was only after saying these words that Lambert realized what they might have sounded like. He smiled broadly, cheerfully (if a bit awkwardly) and reassured.

"No, no, it wasn’t that bad. They didn’t bully us, they didn’t beat us ..."

"Thank you," said Paul suddenly. "I don’t have a single bad memory from my childhood, not because I lost my memory because I didn’t lose it, I just didn’t have a bad experience. You shielded me from every one of them. Thank you."

Jack was astonished. The last time he saw Paul, he had a little boy with scared eyes in front of him. He was so small and fragile, as if the slightest gust of wind would blow him away. Now he was standing before him a handsome young man with a determined but warm gaze, firmly set on the ground, perfectly understanding the world that was once such a mystery to him.

Paul has grown up, he has become a real man. Jack wasn’t part of his growing up process. He could not serve as an example or advice for him. One day he was devoured by the thought that their mother had hurt a little boy, the other day he was overwhelmed by the belief that somewhere in the world Paul was growing up in a happy family. Now, looking at him, Lambert felt proud that his little brother had grown up so beautifully.

"You have nothing to thank me for," Jack shook his head. "I didn’t do anything beyond my big brother’s responsibilities."

"Believe me, I’ve seen enough in my life to know that what you did was so much more. I want to introduce you to my wife Sandra as soon as possible, but we decided that first we should talk face to face, get to know each other... I have so many questions, but I don’t even know where to start."

Yes, they both clearly felt the need to reconnect to make up for lost time, but Jack was surprised to find that it was already happening. Yes, they would both get to know each other again, but maybe because they had had direct contact with each other before (although they didn’t know they were family), or maybe because they both heard so much about each other from Kevin, the truth was that Jack already felt a connection with Paul.

"There will be time for that," said Lambert mildly. "There will be time for all questions and answers. After all, now we know how we can find ourselves - no, we’ve already found each other, now we have each other at our fingertips. I am so glad that I found you ..."

***

There was a surprising and very happy news spread in Fergus’ Stable that Jack Lambert was reunited with his younger brother, who had been lost twenty years ago.

For most of the employees, including Don Alston, the news was all the more shocking as he had no idea Jack grew up in an orphanage. Lambert was always so cheerful and kind that he seemed to have grown up in a truly loving family. It would never have occurred to him that Jack had grown up alone with no one to love him. It was so... sad.

Don thought then of his family, which only appeared to be perfect. The father married his mother for money, and not only did he never love her, it was difficult even to speak of respect. The father had a collection of lovers and the mother endured humiliation in silence. They both had high expectations of their son, but soon his father found Don a loser, and his mother saw him as her prodigy child, but a child who had no right to grow up while he was becoming a man.

Yes, they were definitely not the perfect parents, but at least they were, which could not be said about Jack’s parents. Nevertheless, Lambert grew up to be a good, respected and admired man of success, and even Don had to admit that in his eyes Jack was a very positive figure. If Don had grown up in an orphanage, without a family, maybe he would have grown up better too...

Absurd! His parents weren’t perfect, but they were, he could rely on them materially and even emotionally in a way. He didn’t know what his father felt about him, but his mother loved him - maybe a little too much, but she loved him, or at least Alston could believe it. They weren’t perfect, but they weren’t completely useless either. It was good to have parents.

Meanwhile, Jack was alone.

For some reason Don felt lonely. However, he could not contact his parents. He was never close enough with his father, and his mother would tire him with her overprotection.

On the other hand, there was someone in his life who was closer to him than his family. Someone who accepted him not because his bloodline dictated it, but his own choice.

Don had Nelson in his life.

Alston took a shower, but he had to speak to Allen who would discuss his track performance tonight. As soon as he changed into clean clothes, Don took out his phone and dialed Nelson’s number.

He was surprised how quickly the man answered and how warmly he said to him, "Hello!"

Don’s heart skipped a beat at the sound. It was so strange, so disturbing, and yet very enjoyable.

"I’m not bother you?"

"Never!"

Nelson once told him that he would always make time for Don. Don is a priority for him. Despite this, the young driver did not fully believe in these assurances. It wasn’t because he didn’t believe in Nelson, he didn’t believe in himself. That one word from Nelson’s mouth burned his cheeks and heart.

"I’m still at work, but I wanted to hear your voice and ask if today ..."

"My dear student wants to receive a second lesson today?"

Alston opened his mouth. Until now, he had thought that he was brave about sex and more, but with Nelson, Don really was like an inexperienced child with the professor, like a little street rogue with capo di tutti capi. He felt hot. Something in his pants twitched uneasily. His imagination put Nelson’s finger in his butt ...

Don wasn’t gay, definitely not! If he wanted to, he could go to bed with any girl now and fuck her properly. Don wasn’t gay, he just... liked sex with Nelson a lot.

His silence seemed to last too long because the man spoke again.

"You have nothing to be ashamed of. Even the great Greek philosophers and kings of Hellas experienced this type of delight in their youth. It’s a pity, I was really hoping for a second lesson ..."

"Me too!" Alston suddenly exclaimed, surprising himself. He noticed that he was trembling with anxiety and excitement. The boy calmed down and replied in a confident, even typically arrogant, tone. "I have nothing against deepening my education."

"I’ll pick you up at your apartment in two hours. Dress up nicely. We are going out."

"Going out? Where? For what?"

"To warm up the atmosphere. We had sex in safe places, now it’s time for something a little more extreme."

"A little more ..." Alston did not realize he was pale. His throat went dry and his penis pressed against the fly very hard. What did Nelson mean by ’extreme’? "How should I dress? Where are we going?"

"Theater or club. You decide. This will be decided by how you will be dressed. Remember, lesson two is waiting!"

Nelson hung up and Alston stayed in the locker room of the Fergus Stables, pale and trembling. He was looking forward to today’s lesson, but for some reason he was really worried about it.
