Qi Cultivation Starting from the Repair Panel -
Chapter 600 - 428: Memories of Eternity, Meeting_2
Chu Zheng took half a step back, panting heavily, and after a long while, he finally understood what had just happened.
It seemed that the Heart Burning Corridor had pulled him back into his past memories, forcing him to confront his Heart Demon.
Chu Zheng glanced back, unconsciously realizing that he had traversed over a hundred zhang. Now that he was out of the illusion, it seemed the Heart Burning Corridor believed this matter could no longer affect his mind, allowing him to pass.
Recollecting the added memories in his mind, Chu Zheng frowned deeply.
Does the Heart Burning Corridor consider this the most regrettable thing of his current life?
Where exactly does this memory originate from? Could it be hidden within the Dao Seed in his body?
The Heart Burning Corridor only obscured memories of his current life, yet memories of his past life were not concealed in the least. There must be an extremely important reason hidden within.
The woman sitting opposite Zheng Chu was the same one he had seen on the Ancient Dao Transmission Road before, was her name 'Xue Qing'?
This name, it's hard not to think more of it. The resemblance in appearance, along with the name, makes it hard to separate from Song Lingxue.
Embedded within the recent memory, there are vast amounts of information, but for the moment, Chu Zheng could not grasp the thread.
Between Zheng Chu and him, Xue Qing and Song Lingxue, what exactly is the relation among them? Reincarnation or incarnation?
Judging by the conversation, the time node in the Illusion Realm should be just before the ancient battle, shortly before the Ancestral Dao was besieged by various Daoists.
This Xue Qing, logically speaking, should also be in the Ancestral Realm, might even once have been the Martial Ancestor, so why are there no traces of her left in the Martial Hall?
As Chu Zheng was pondering, a figure appeared under the corridor not far away, though he didn't know when it emerged.
He looked around sixty, possessing a vigorous frame, with graying hair and deep-set eyes.
[Sun-Eroding Cry (Zeroth Order): An incomplete Divine Sense of a Half Ancestor creature, repressed for a long time, unclear consciousness.]
Chu Zheng raised his gaze to take a look, his eyes slightly narrowed, and addressed him by name:
"Sun-Eroding Cry."
Even without the information from the Spiritual Eye, he could recognize the elder's face before him.
This face was not unfamiliar to Chu Zheng, it was vividly imprinted in the last memory of Xumi Sheng.
Compared to that time, the Sun-Eroding Cry before him seemed to have aged significantly and lost its sharpness.
As to the half ancestor status reported by the Spiritual Eye, it seemed to be because he lost the blessing of Heavenly Fate, causing his realm to decline.
"You recognize me… You… Who are you?"
Sun-Eroding Cry was somewhat surprised, speaking with evident difficulty, his figure slightly ghostly; managing to form this wisp of remnant thought must have required a great deal of effort.
"In Xumi Sheng's dying memory, there is your face."
Chu Zheng explained in a deep voice, "Your ability to manifest a Divine Sense again, it seems the rumors about your head being suppressed beneath this corridor are true."
Sun-Eroding Cry gave a slight nod, his words coming intermittently:
"My head is indeed… below, only within this… corridor can I barely… form an incarnation, the torso is suppressed… at the center of the Great Immortal Realm, the limbs… at the four corners of the world, now entirely beyond sensing…"
Listening to this, Chu Zheng found it somewhat strenuous, he activated the Repair Panel, extending a wisp of Primordial Qi, attempting to mend this incomplete Divine Sense.
Sun-Eroding Cry's eyes brightened slightly, his body suddenly solidifying considerably, accompanied by a light sigh:
"A remarkable youth, your mastery of Primordial Qi has reached such a level."
Chu Zheng had no interest in pleasantries, directly asking:
"You previously sent a message, asking me to find Zheng Chu, what was your intention?"
Upon hearing this, Sun-Eroding Cry sighed: "Zheng Chu once said that one day, he would personally release me, and I should wait. Until today, there has been no movement, I awoke sensing Xumi Sheng's aura, thinking a descendant had come, but I never expected it to be you."
His gaze fell on Chu Zheng, carrying a hint of query:
"The Ancestor Blood of Xumi Sheng should have been with my Erosion Sun lineage, I once entrusted for it to be brought to the Great Immortal Realm should the opportunity arise. Why is it now in you? What has become of my Erosion Sun lineage?"
His expression carried a trace of tension, fearing to hear bad news from Chu Zheng.
"This blood was gifted by a descendant of your Erosion Sun lineage, as a token of gratitude. The lineage still exists, the surname has changed, and there is now an ancestor of the Ancestral Realm overseeing."
Chu Zheng did not give much explanation, instead voicing his many doubts: "What is your relation to Zheng Chu? Have you heard of the names Jun Huang and Yun Tianji?"
From the previous conversation, it was evident that Jun Huang and Yun Tianji had extraordinary identities.
"Zheng Chu was considered a junior of mine, I assisted him greatly because of Xue Qing, Jun Huang is my disciple, while Yun Tianji was Xumi Sheng's personal disciple and succeeded the position of the Immortal Ancestor. My current suppression is due to Yun Tianji."
Just as expected.
A trace of understanding flashed in Chu Zheng's eyes, these two are the Ancestor of Ancient Immortals and Ancient Martial Ancestor.
Despite having heard their names for years, today he finally learned their full identities.
After carefully examining Chu Zheng, Sun-Eroding Cry became more puzzled: "You, being a Qi Cultivator, how are you within the Immortal Alliance? Yun Tianji let you go? Where exactly is Zheng Chu now, can you reach him? At least ask him when he plans to release me."
He seemed very eager to gain his freedom.
"Yun Tianji has been dead for many years. I've already mentioned before, Zheng Chu is dead. You've been suppressed for so long, utterly unaware of the situation. I'm afraid no one can help you now."
Chu Zheng shook his head, Sun-Eroding Cry was far removed from the current era, still likely living in ancient times.
To avoid some ineffective communication, Chu Zheng directly imparted the current status of the Great Universe and some of the knowledge he possessed into Sun-Eroding Cry's mind.
"How could Jun Huang unite with Yun Tianji?! Alliance of Immortal Martial Arts? Betrayal of Master and Ancestor! Why does the Vast Universe still remain?!"
After a long pause, Sun-Eroding Cry roared almost in disbelief, muttering to himself:
"Zheng Chu once promised me he would rearrange Yin and Yang, otherwise how could I willingly enter the web, assisting him in clearing obstacles in the Universe?! Why does the Vast Universe still exist now? Only one Boundary was set! What's the use?! After I die, wouldn't I still have to go to the Universe?! Were all those promises nonsense?!"
In an instant, Sun-Eroding Cry nearly broke down, the trust in Zheng Chu seemingly collapsed in a snap, his eyes void of focus:
"So much time has passed, and the Heavenly Fate is still so limited, how can this succeed…"
After a while, he gradually calmed down, seemingly losing all strength, leaning against the edge of the corridor, his expression utterly numb.
He did not doubt the authenticity of the news; the person before him had no reason to lie.
After briefly pondering, Chu Zheng revealed his true appearance, kneeling, and said: "Though Zheng Chu is dead, maybe I can think of a way to release you."
Sun-Eroding Cry raised his eyes, first shocked by Chu Zheng's face, then plunged into thought.
After a moment, he seemed to realize something and suddenly bowed his head and laughed quietly.
A moment later, as if weighing something, he spoke softly:
"With your cultivation, how do you propose to release me?"
"I may have a method, though Zheng Chu is dead."
Stating this without hesitation, Chu Zheng turned and moved forward, already anticipating the next challenge in the Heart Burning Corridor.
"Wait."
Sun-Eroding Cry called out.
Chu Zheng turned back without a moment's hesitation and replied:
"Tell me everything you know about Zheng Chu and that Xue Qing, who exactly is she?"
It would most logically be explained if the reason could be Dao Ancestor's reincarnation being himself, yet Chu Zheng harbored a lingering suspicion that something was awry.
In a correct explanation, Dao Ancestor should have completely no need to rely on the method of the Incense Fire God.
