Chapter 69: Maria Has Defected

Sharon’s POV—

Feeling discomfort all over my body, I opened my eyes. With my back against the floor, I sat on the ground. Yesterday, I had completed cleaning the entire palace. But after completing the task, my whole body was aching and I laid on the ground. I didn’t even know when I slumbered on the floor.

Even after waking up after a ’good’ sleep, my body is still aching. *Growl* My stomach was crying in hunger. It was howling like a hungry beast. I haven’t eaten anything since yesterday. I clutched my stomach with both arms and tried to soothe it. Argh, as if it would make the hunger disappear. But I don’t have any other choice, do I?

I heard some footsteps coming towards me. When I looked up, I saw Celle walking towards me with an annoying smile on her face. She stopped in front of you and lowered her head to look at me.

Celle asked, "Have you completed your task?"

I nodded, "I have. Can I get some food now?"

Celle washed her gaze around us to examine whether I was lying or not. She begrudgingly nodded her head. She said, "You have cleaned the palace. You will get your food," I was ecstatic, "but after you complete the other tasks assigned to you."

My face lost of all its colour. I stuttered, ’W-what t-t-tasks?!"

"The tasks which are going to be assigned to you. You have to complete it by today."

My stomach howled in protest. See, even it is saying that you are unfair to me. I looked at her with pleading eyes. "P-please... I-I am hungry. I-I promise a-after eating... I-I will complete all the tasks."

Celle gave me a cold glare and yelled, "Did you forget that I am superior? You will not get a single grain to eat unless, you complete the tasks. And your first task is to clean Her Majesty’s office."

"But—"

"Shut up! Just go and do your work!" With that, she turned and walked way from me. Dammit! I bashed my hand on the ground in anger.

"Ahh! Ouch! It hurts!!" I cried out in pain. Argh! Why am I forgetting that I am just a normal human now? Fuck you! Fuck Celle! Fuck Aerila! Fuck this entire palace! I was so angry that I coughed a bit.

Taking a deep breath, I got up and started walking towards Aerila’s office. Yesterday, I memorised the entire layout of this palace while ’cleaning.’

*Growl* I yelled, "Shut up!" I looked at my stomach, "nobody is going to understand your pain. So, keep quiet."

[You are losing it.]

After cleaning the last vase, I put it back in its place. I literally wanted to throw this dirty cloth at her face. From the moment I entered this room, she was observing my each and every reaction. I could feel that she was relishing in my pain.

Well, if I am already here, I should try to seduce her. I asked, "Your Majesty, do you need me anything else?" I lowered a bit to show my cleavage. Well, this dress is already very revealing and adding anything more to the mix won’t change anything. It’s better to take advantage of it.

Aerila looked at me with a cold gaze. She said, "You can go." Her voice was like a void, making me flinch by just hearing it. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out of it. I really don’t know what to say. I didn’t expect to be shot down before anything even starting.

Pouting, I went out of her office. My body was feeling completely lethargic. I am pretty sure if I continue to work, then definitely I will be conscious after some time.

Third POV—

A loud scream was heard before it disappeared. Kelshin Dimortyil wiped the blood on his hand with a tissue. After wiping, he threw it on the ground and stomped it under his left shoe. Frustrated, he sat on the ground. There was a dead body lying near his legs. Sneering, he kicked it repeatedly until, it’s face turned into a crushed cake. Blood was dripping from his shoes.

"Arghhh!! Where the fuck is Heriedieck?! Where did he go?! Did the earth swallow him? WHERE THE HELL IS HE?!" yelled Kelshin. His eyes were bloodshot with anger. Veins were popping out of his head.

He grabbed a knife and walked towards an unknown man. The man had lost an eye and was limping.

Seeing Kelshin walking towards him with a knife, he begged, "P-please... h-h-have m-mercy..."

Kelshin grabbed his face and asked, "Who is it? Who the fuck took him? Answer me."

The man gulped. "I-I d-don’t k-k-know..."

Kelshin’s face contorted in anger. He directly stabbed the man’s throat with the knife.

The man’s eyes widened and his mouth parted a bit. Blood started flowing down his mouth, wetting Kelshin’s hands.

Kelshin’s took out the knife from his throat and stabbed him again. "WHY DON’T YOU KNOW?" he pushed the man onto the ground, "DID I GIVE YOU MONEY TO PLAY AROUND?" he stabbed him repeatedly, "NO! YOU MOTHERFUCKER! I GAVE YOU MONET TO WORK FOR ME!!" He continued stabbing even after the man had already died.

Kelshin’s shirt was dyed red. His assistant, Uriel tried to stop him. "Stop it! He is already dead!"

When Kelshin heard it, he finally stopped stabbing the man’s dead body and got up. His face was completely covered up in blood and his white shirt was dyed red with blood. *Clang* He threw the bloodied knife on the ground.

Panting, Kelshin said, "I... I give them everything," he kicked the dead man’s body, "I am the one who is their boss. They should praise me. Their devotion should be only towards me. Yet! Yet... they don’t do their work properly. Tell me, Uriel... tell me. WHAT SHOULD I DO?"

A small lantern was illuminating the basement with its small essence. Blood mixed with musky smell was in the air. Kelshin spat on the dead body and kicked it again. "People like these," he pointed towards the dead body, "are the reason for the delaying of my plan. Uriel, I should kill them. I SHOULD KILL ALL THESE PEOPLE! I SHOULD KILL THEM ALL!!"

Uriel sighed, "Calm down and drink some water."

Kelshin raised his hand and said, "No. Not now." He turned towards the last the man, who had his hands around his mouth to prevent him from screaming.

Upon seeing Kelshin turn towards him, he flinched in horror.

The man tried to crawl away but Kelshin grabbed his leg and pulled towards him. He grabbed the man’s throat and began suffocating him.

The man thrashed his legs and used his hands to pry off Kelshin’s hold from his throat. But it was futile. "It’s... useless... you... are... all... useless," Kelshin gritted out. He dragged the man and bashed his head on the wall. Blood sprayed all over the wall from his head. Kelshin lifted his foot and crushed his head in a single strike. Uriel clamped his hand over his mouth. It was a very disgusting sight for him. The man’s brain matters were all over Kelshin’s shoes.

Controlling his gag reflex, Uriel said, "Calm down, we will find where that bastard is." He tried to pacify Kelshin, which he succeeded in.

Kelshin removed his shoes and threw them on the ground. Taking a towel, he wiped off all the blood on his face and threw it on the ground.

"Where is Maria? She is not giving me any information related to my beautiful ’fiancé.’ I am worried about her."

Uriel closed his eyes in fear. He feared Kelshin’s reaction when he would know the truth about Maria’s betrayal. He opened his eyes and shook his head.

"About that... I think you should know it." Uriel’s voice highlighted the dread in it.

Kelshin looked at him. In a calm tone, he asked, "What should I know? Uriel, you know it very well that I don’t like secrets."

Uriel nodded. He was still unsure whether to say it or not. Deciding that he would say it, he opened his mouth. "I think... Maria has betrayed us." He said it in a very low voice but it was clearly audible to Kelshin.

Kelshin dragged a chair and sat in it. Uriel anticipated that he would be angry but... his reaction was very calm.

"Did she defect to Sharon’s side?"

"Yes. And I believe she is the one who informed the emperor about our organisation."

Kelshin shook his head in denial. He said, "She is not the one. Nah, she is not."

Frowning, Uriel asked, "Then who? I don’t think anyone knows about our organisation."

Kelshin smiled, "I think there is someone who can answer this for us."

"Who? No one knows about it! Even Heriedieck is missing!"

Kelshin moved his hands over the arms of the chair. He said, "The person who can answer us is, Sharon," he tapped his feet three times on the ground, "Uriel, give me a cigar."
