Chapter 53: You Can’t Tell a Lie to Leon
Sharon’s POV—
When I woke up in the next morning, I found myself in my bed. I tried to move my hands, only to find myself unable to do so. It was like a train had run over me. My whole body ached. If that wasn’t enough, the idiots have wrapped their arms all around me, rendering me immobile. I attempted to remove their hands but I failed in it. Their arms were very heavy in the first place, coupled with my aching body, I wasn’t able to budge them a bit. I thrashed in my ’trap,’ hoping that would wake them up. As expected, nothing happened. They kept sleeping like a donkey after a day of labour.
My throat ached as well. With a hoarse voice, I yelled, "Take your arms off me!" My voice stirred them up. They slowly opened their eyes and smiled at me.
"Good morning, Your Majesty!"
"Good morning, darling~"
They greeted me in unison.
I gave them a disbelieving look. Are they even serious? Can’t they say that they are crushing me?
"Get off!! Go and stand there!!" I yelled with all the force my throat could muster.
Swallowing loudly, they scrambled out of the bed. They stood in front of me with their head down. I tried to move to a more comforting position but failed miserably. Maria wanted to help me and so did Kaerin.
"Don’t move." My tone was full of authority. They flinched and stood in their position. I yelled, "Did you even regret whatever you had done with me yesterday?" Saying that, I made myself sit on the bed with some difficulty.
Maria opened her mouth, but nothing came out of it. It’s a clear sign of feeling guilty and it’s not because I was glaring at her.
I continued, "If you don’t do something about your jealousy... then, forget about me," they paled at my words, "Kaerin, I love you but that doesn’t mean you can force me," I turned towards Maria, "I am warning you too, Maria. Being my marker doesn’t mean that you have the right to force me."
"I am sorry. I won’t do it again," Kaerin whispered sadly.
"Me too. I was too much immersed up in my pleasure that I hurt you," muttered Maria, with regret filling her voice.
I sighed at their words. "It’s not... that. I am not angry because of what you did to me during sex. If you had asked me may be I would have agreed. Argh... forget it. You are not going to change. Look... I am not angry with you. Just help me to clean up and change my clothes. Do this, and we will be good."
A smile blossomed in their faces. Kaerin looks really cute while smiling. As for Maria... she also does look kind of cute too. What? My face flushed at this thought. I immediately covered my head in the quilt. Kaerin, I know... but why Maria?
"Are you okay? Darling?" asked Kaerin.
"I-I am f-f-fine," I shuttered. Of all things, why am shuttering now? I threw the quilt off my head. "Just help me, will you? And don’t even think of bothering me today! Don’t ask me anything!!"
Both of them looked utterly confused. They must be wondering about my sudden spike in anger. Thinking that it was best to not to argue with me, they nodded their begrudgingly.

I was sitting in my office and reviewing my documents. Both of them wanted to stay with me. Their excuse was they wanted to help me. Maria told that I needed a maid all the time who could tend to my needs. As for Kaerin, her argument was that she was my personal knight and it was her duty to protect me. So, she needed to stay with me all the time. But I clearly refused them and told them not to disturb me. Seeing that I am not going to relent to their manipulations, they finally accepted defeated and promised that they wouldn’t disturb me.
"What about the budget? Your Majesty, you need to present it at the next meeting," said Leon.
Argh! I knew that I had forgotten something. I have only prepared half of the budget. What-to-do? What-to-do? An idea suddenly raised its hand in my brain. Why not include my faction as well? Nah, scratch it. It would just clearly show that I favoured my faction more. Fuck! I have to do it myself.
"I have completed it. I-I j-just need to improvise it. Some modifications... that’s it," I lied.
Leon looked at me with a face that clearly said, ’I don’t trust you.’ Although, his mouth said something different. "As you say, Your Majesty. I am just reminding you, that’s all I am going to say."
You should have changed your tone before you said those words. Your tone reeks of distrust. At least try to be subtle! Argh! Leon, I will show you. I will make the best budget and I will make you sing my praises.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. "Enter," I ordered.
A knight came into my office. He bowed, "Greetings to the only light of our empire! Your Majesty, I feel very elevated to be in your presence."
"Honkser. You can raise your head. Tell me, why are you here?"
Raising his head, Honkser said, "It’s because the magic tower’s owner has asked you for an audience."
Her? Again? I turned towards Leon and asked, "Haven’t you given the approval letter to them? Why are they asking again?"
"I don’t know. May be they... are idiots?" offered Leon. I chuckled at his words. Maybe, he is right. There is no plausible explanation for their behaviour other than this.
"Honkser, did someone come to our palace from their side?" I asked. At the very best, it would be a messenger mage. It’s not like Suroralia would here herself.
Honkser nodded, "Yes, Your Majesty"
"Who? A messenger mage?"
"No, Your Majesty. The owner, herself is here and asking you for an audience."
