Chapter 36: Fighting with the Three Commanders

Chapter 36: Fighting with the Three Commanders

Sharon’s POV—

’Wordless Magic’ is not a type of magic. It’s like derivative of magic with respect to time. Here, time refers to the time taken to do spell. For normal spells, the time taken is more and lacks the factor called, ’Constant change.’ This means in chanting magic; the rate of change of magical flow or mana is less compared to wordless magic.

Suppose, let’s take wind magic. The chant goes like this— "O’ vivacious wind I call forth you, turning your grace into disgrace, I summon you in your most vicious form: Wind Destroyer." A top-class mage has to say all these lines to use this spell. If they don’t have ability that is.

An ability user doesn’t need to utter any words to perform a spell, ranging from weak to strong. They can do it wordlessly. Therefore, I can say only ability users are capable of wordless magic.

Now coming back to the situation, multiple balls of fire shot towards me. To counter it, I conjured the same number of water balls and shot towards them. Both attacks were neutralized by each other.

The three of them looked at me in alarm. Looks like, their brains have started working. C stuttered, "Y-you a-are an a-ability user?!" He took a step back in fear.

B yelled, "Who cares if she has an ability or not? She is a woman and alone! We can easily defeat her."

I sighed in exasperation. He still hasn’t taken me seriously as an opponent. I ran towards them and started fighting them hand to hand.

A threw a punch, which was aimed at my jaw. I dodged it and kicked his solar plexus instead. I threw C into a heap of trash and kicked B’s shin. Both A and C got up quickly and dashed towards me.

Catching him by his shoulder, I threw C on A, rendering his attack useless. I grabbed B’s leg and twisted it, smashing him on the wall. He let a loud cry of pain.

C tried to punch me, which I blocked with my right hand and punched him in the jaw instead. I jumped and wrapped my legs on his neck, twisting it with legs. His neck broke, a sickening crunch was heard loud and clear.

A and B were looking at C’s dead body in horror. Fear was etched on their face as a parasite. Their comrade dying by my hands or, here legs, broke their fighting spirit.

[Shounen heroes don’t kill. They give a chance to the villains to redeem themselves.]

’Not all people need redemption. Sometimes they cross a limit... which no one should. Look at these people, do they need any redemption? No redemption in this world can alter what they have done, and are going to do. I am no hero of justice nor I think myself as a saviour. I am here because of my selfish desires. System, I am not going preach forgiveness to people. You can think of this as wiping down some vermin, whose presence is meaningless in the face of our ’Mother Earth.’ These creatures are like shackles to all living beings. What I am doing, is a favour.’

Honestly, I thought I would be repulsed with myself and even vomit my insides out. This is my first kill... yet, it feels that I have killed before. Is it because of me or OG’s influence? Although, the first one is impossible. I haven’t killed anyone in our entire life.

"YAHHH!!"

A let out a battle cry and ran towards me with a sword in his hands. I conjured a sword with my ability and blocked his slash, which was aimed at my stomach. Applying more pressure on the handle, I deflected his sword’s tip in another direction and conjured a dagger. I stabbed the dagger in his leg. He cried out in pain.

"AHHHH!! MY LEG—"

A was not able to complete his sentence as I pierced his neck with my sword.

Blood oozed out from A’s neck. I pulled out the sword from his neck, splashing some blood drops on my face. Having no strength to muster, he fell on the ground twitching violently. Tears flowed from his eyes like a fountain. He wanted to beg for his pathetic life but he wasn’t able to. I destroyed his voice-box when I pierced his neck with my sword.

"From letting a battle cry to crying out in pain. Look at you... you are twitching and crying in pain. You know that you will die but you are still hanging a thread called ’hope.’ But it’s futile. No one can save you know."

A’s twitching decreased gradually until he became completely still. The light in his eyes was no longer there, signalling that he indeed has died.

*Clang* I threw the sword on the ground. Taking out my handkerchief, I carefully wiped the blood on my face. I don’t want any blood drop of that bastard to be on my face. With a tired sigh, I looked at the sky. It was already evening. Stars were already visible to the naked eyes. I consider stars as the gems embedded in the night’s rock, increasing both its beauty and mystery. If ’day’ gives hope then ’night’ depicts peace. Human beings also do have a day-mode and night-mode in them in their inner world. Yet, at the same time it’s not. Unlike the clear distinction in the outer world, there is no boundary in the inner world. Both ’day’ and ’night’ are meshed up together, with some voids acting like fillers to join them. Human emotions are just like this. Sometimes they could be sunny while other times they could be dark as a black hole. We can’t change ourselves neither we can change others. We may preach good advice to others but if when it comes to us, we go back on our own words. If this is not hypocrisy then... what is this? Like that guy, whose conscience awakened all of a sudden and then when he saw me, the whole existence of that very conscience disappeared.
