Chapter 78: Big Moves... Chase!... Terrifying Display Of Power!
After the order to hunt Kranos was issued, deep within the principal’s office, a mirror-like mana device shimmered into view.
On its reflective surface, a list of all student badges was displayed. With this arcane tool, the principal could detect whenever a student left the academy grounds. Currently the number of cultivators that weren’t present in the academy numbered up to a hundred.
"With this, I can narrow down the search and track the deserter," Ronald muttered solemnly, then vanished at an unprecedented speed, heading straight toward the nearest detected badge signal.
What most students didn’t know was that each badge had a hidden tracking function embedded within it—meant for emergencies like this.
It allowed the academy to monitor every student’s location and take swift action when things went awry. Naturally, Kranos was unaware of this hidden feature.
Meanwhile, in the mission hall, a new mission had appeared abruptly and the objective of the mission was to locate the deserter. The mission had a reward of 10 million merit points!
The announcement sent the entire academy into a frenzy. Within moments, more than ten teams had accepted the mission—most of them composed of third- and fourth-year students eager for the generous bounty.
...
The news of the deserter spread rapidly throughout the academy. Within the school, the elders had already begun investigating those who were absent.
One by one, they confirmed the whereabouts of students on missions, visiting the black market, or shopping pavilions. However, one name was missing from their list...
Kranos!
They noticed that Kranos didn’t undertake any mission and he was missing! They investigated further and discovered that a masked robed figure had rushed out from Kranos courtyard.
At first many didn’t think too much about It, but the elders quickly realised that the deserter was Kranos!
...
The moment this was confirmed, the entire academy was thrown into chaos. The search intensified, and word of the incident soon reached Raphael.
He had been monitoring the Royal Academy constantly since he knew his son was there. He also didn’t want Anna to worry or cause a commotion over Kranos
Today, as usual, he checked up on the academy. However, he was stunned... Kranos had deserted the academy? He didn’t dare believe it at first until he fully confirmed that it was true.
He recalled how Kranos was always calm and composed. He didn’t seem like someone who could do something like that. He knew his son very well and immediately guessed that something must have happened.
A dreadful aura was immediately released from his body at this realization, turning to the side he said coldly to Nana.
"Find my son or I will inform my main body to descend and destroy this immortal world, should anything happen to him."
Pausing slightly he then continued, "Also... give the order. No one is allowed to hunt my son like a criminal. If they disobey—destroy them."
The shadow several feet away vanished without a trace.
...
Back at the academy, the moment the mission concerning Kranos was posted, it was suddenly removed.
The elders informed all students that it had been a false alarm, and no one was to pursue anyone any further.
Most of the students were puzzled, when had the academy ever made mistakes? But, they knew not to question the academy, it seemed the young man who escaped was far from ordinary.
...
But elsewhere, in a mysterious hidden space, a figure was stunned...
Eric had been waiting for months—waiting for Kranos to leave the academy and take on a mission. Just when the timing had seemed right, Kranos vanished. Without warning.
He was stunned and immediately knew that something was wrong. This had finally confirmed his guess, there was definitely a big secret on Kranos, It was impossible for someone to survive so many deadly encounters otherwise.
It’s as though he can predict the future! Eric frowned slightly. However, his expression soon twisted into a smile... sixth brother has given the order that no one should hunt his son but the scarlet moon organisation that specialises in heavenly secrets are always unruly...
If they realise that my nephew has such a big secret on him they will definitely stop at nothing to catch him! Thankfully you’ve left the academy, nephew, it’s the perfect time to kill you!
Eric knew that Kranos would definitely die this time... He felt it was fortunate that he didn’t know the extent of his father’s strength or he wouldn’t have been so fearful.
...
Meanwhile, deep within a dense forest, a masked young man sprinted through the trees.
Kranos had completely suppressed his cultivation within his mental space, blending in as an ordinary mortal. His face had grown pale from exhaustion. Fortunately, he was extremely far from the academy now.
His vision blurred for a moment, but he bit his lip to remain conscious. He needed to find a safe place before passing out.
While running from the academy Kranos already guessed the fact that the items from the academy could be tracked so he kept them all in the system space.
Now there were no flaws that could reveal his identity. He looked like an ordinary young man who had been sick for a while.
After running for so long Kranos could no longer hold on, But after pushing himself for so long, his body finally gave out and he abruptly passed out... Kranos fate was left unknown...
...
Time passed and soon two days had gone by...
Kranos opened his eyes slightly after regaining his consciousness. The first thing he saw was the sky... moving.
The sky is... moving?
He blinked in confusion, then glanced around.
He realized he was tied to the top of a carriage. He was speechless, he glanced down and realised it was a group of bandits that numbered up to fifty that had captured him.
Strangely, Kranos felt a thought take root in his mind.
This... might be the perfect cover to hide my identity.
He closed his eyes again, silently focusing on recovering his mana.
Sensing his weak state Kranos frowned. It seems the rebirth this time didn’t go as smoothly, I don’t know what happened and without a way to heal myself, I can only keep feeling weakened.
Since he couldn’t figure out a way to treat himself he didn’t think too much about it. As long as his cultivation increased he would definitely find a cure. For now, he had to be extremely cautious, he wasn’t sure rebirth was possible anymore since he was so weakened!
Thinking of increasing strength, Kranos’s mind once again went to the mastermind that orchestrated everything, he clenched his teeth fiercely and glared at the sky, his anger could tower up to the heavens.
He never wanted to kill someone as much as he wanted to kill the mastermind... all the times I’ve rebirthed are because of him!!!
