Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten
Chapter 291: That D*mn Sister

The three of them walked up to the second floor.

Since the second floor had more bedrooms, there were more rooms in total—seven altogether.

Starting from the staircase, Fang Meng introduced them one by one:

“This is Grandpa’s bedroom, next to it are two guest rooms, then mine. Qianqian’s bedroom is at the far west—it’s the largest one. The remaining rooms are the piano room and the collection room.”

“Collection room? What’s that?”

Jiang Qian’s expression shifted slightly.

“It’s where we store some important but rarely used things. Back then, Jiejie, Xiaomeng, and I all kept personal stuff there—kind of like a storage room. But now only Jiejie and I still use it.”

Fang Meng smiled too, knowing that what was inside had become rather... private lately, so she no longer stored her own things there.

Lin Zhengran recalled the two personal studies downstairs. He thought, these two sisters already have their own studies, and they still have a collection room?

Guess that’s what happens when you have more rooms than you know what to do with.

“Oh right—your sister doesn’t live on the second floor? Why is hers the only room missing?”

Jiang Qian said flatly,

“My sister lives on the first floor. As for why not the second floor—she and I never got along growing up. We didn’t want to do anything together, so she chose the first floor, and I took the second. Out of sight, out of mind.”

Lin Zhengran chuckled, but he remembered how at the hospital, Jiang Qian had cried from heartbreak when Jiang Jingshi was sick, and had been so relieved when she learned he could save her sister’s life. That hadn’t been fake.

So these two sisters must be the type who act like they don’t get along on the surface but care deeply inside?

That did suit Jiang Qian’s style.

Reminded him a little of Lili.

Dumbass!

Big dumbass!

Fang Meng opened the door to the piano room as she spoke.

“Also, because the old master and madam are often busy with work, they never stayed here, so they never had a room furnished.”

The piano room was spacious and bright—Lin Zhengran’s pupils lit up the moment he saw it.

There were two grand pianos inside, the same models as the ones Jiang Qian had donated to the school, surrounded by shelves of sheet music.

Jiang Qian said,

“This is where I usually play, but since I’ve been busy at the company lately, I haven’t practiced in a while.”

Then she looked at Lin Zhengran, hopeful.

“Wanna play a duet?”

“Sure,” Lin Zhengran replied, genuinely interested.

The two of them sat down at their respective pianos and picked a duet piece together.

As their fingers danced across the keys, rich, harmonious music echoed gracefully throughout the villa.

Fang Meng stood beside them, composed and elegant, watching Lin Zhengran’s focused, handsome profile. Her face flushed slightly.

Downstairs, Grandpa Jiang, sipping tea on the sofa, looked up curiously.

Surprised the young man could play piano too.

He sighed to himself.

“With Qianqian’s personality, this dinner’s not gonna be easy.”

Even Jiang Jingshi, who had just come out of her bedroom after changing clothes, was caught off guard when she heard the piano duet.

Because Fang Meng didn’t know how to play piano, the only person who could be playing with her sister right now had to be Lin Zhengran.

She tiptoed up the stairs, trying not to disturb the beautiful music.

She arrived at the door of the piano room and lightly rested her hand on the doorframe, looking toward Lin Zhengran, seated at the piano.

Jiang Jingshi’s soft, peach blossom eyes widened slowly in surprise and admiration as she took in the sight of his upright, composed profile.

When the piece ended, both Fang Meng and Jiang Jingshi clapped.

Jiang Qian also praised,

“Your piano skills are still as good as ever. You seem even better than when you performed at the graduation ceremony.”

Lin Zhengran said,

“I wouldn’t say that. It’s only been a few days, and I haven’t had time to practice. But I do think our coordination’s gotten better.”

“Yeah?” Jiang Qian responded.

He glanced back and saw Jiang Jingshi standing in the distance, clearly having watched for a while.

Then his eyes landed on her outfit—and he was a bit stunned.

She wore a white V-neck long sleeve top paired with a half-length skirt. Her softly curled long hair draped over her snowy shoulders and elegant swan-like neck.

Her shoes had been swapped for strappy high-heeled sandals, and her delicate feet peeked subtly beneath. She’d even changed her earrings and necklace—now small, star-shaped accents that added just a touch of sparkle.

Altogether, her look was both regal and angelic—no wonder reporters had once compared her to an angel rather than a goddess.

With her looks, she really did resemble an angel at first glance—just missing a pair of wings.

Jiang Jingshi hurried over.

“I didn’t know you played piano so well? I remember Qianqian once said her piano skills weren’t as good as yours, but I thought she was just being modest. That was amazing!”

Jiang Qian was used to her sister’s weird honesty.

But it was true—her skills weren’t on par with Lin Zhengran’s. Not even close. No point denying it.

Lin Zhengran replied politely,

“Actually, the gap between Qianqian and me isn’t that big. And she’s improving fast.”

Then he looked at Jiang Jingshi.

“But Jingshi, you really look good in anything. Although you looked great in a suit, this casual outfit is even prettier.”

The Eldest Miss’s face turned completely red.

“Really? Thank you.”

But Fang Meng and Jiang Qian both picked up on something odd.

Just now, when Lin Zhengran addressed Jiang Jingshi—there was no nickname, no title, not even her full name. He had said...

Jingshi.

That was not something just anyone could call her! And the craziest part—she didn’t correct him!

Jiang Jingshi stepped up to Lin Zhengran and asked,

“How far have you gotten on the tour? Have you seen everything?”

“Pretty much. Fang Meng already walked me through everything.”

Jiang Jingshi hadn’t expected them to move that fast.

“Then you probably haven’t seen the bedrooms yet, right? Let me show you mine. I had it custom-designed—totally different from the rest of the house.”

The moment she said that, Jiang Qian got up and stepped in front of them.

This time, she really seemed on high alert. She didn’t say anything to her sister, just tried to pull Lin Zhengran away.

“Come look at my room first, okay? It’s right next door anyway. Jiejie’s room is on the first floor—it’s far. You can look at it later, or not at all. Let’s go, Xiaomeng!”

Fang Meng jumped in too.

“Follow me, Lin Zhengran, Qianqian’s room is just outside.”

With that, they dragged him away again.

Once again, Jiang Jingshi stood alone, reaching her hand out in confusion, clenching her little fist in frustration.

“This is just blatant theft at this point! That’s your brother-in-law, you know!”

She chased after them.

Meanwhile, Jiang Qian held onto Lin Zhengran’s arm, her expression serious.

What was that about just now?

She couldn’t understand—why had Lin Zhengran called her sister so intimately?

Nobody except Grandpa, Dad, and Mom ever called Jiejie “Jingshi.”

Could he really like her sister?

No way.

She must have misheard.

Yeah, probably a problem with her ears. She’d go get them checked at the hospital later.

After mulling it over, the Second Miss suddenly clenched her teeth.

That d*mn sister!
