Winced by the loud call, Kylian turned his neck behind and saw it was Stephan. Grabbing onto his arm tight while huffing a bit too hard, it seemed as if Stephan had run across here while following after Kylian.

Watching him panting heavily from exhaustion, Kylian grew concerned for him as he urged back, "Stephan? Did you come here running all the way from your building? You look breathless, are you okay?"

"Yes...I...had to run after you here...b-because you were also running too darn fast. I called you several times from b-behind...and...I couldn’t match with your pace..." Slowly catching his breath, Stephan mumbled, wiping the sweat crowded on his forehead with his other arm.

Compared to his physique and stamina, Kylian knew Stephan was weaker than him. And especially after he was beaten up by Zenith and his bully gang, Kylian felt worried as if he was falling sick again, "Are you struggling very much to breathe? Should I take you to the nurse’s office again?"

"No...I am fine. I am just a bit...weak than others." By then Stephan regained his normal breathing when he lifted his gaze up to meet Kylian’s keen eyes. He looked a bit discontent with his expression while asking him, "Do you know how much I was worried after you disappeared out of the blue yesterday? And you weren’t even answering my calls or messages, could you at least tell me now what was the matter?"

"Umm, Stephan..." Sensing countless cold and curious pairs of eyes fixated on them from all around the class, Kylian tried to unleash his arm from his hold while his gaze unknowingly slid in Zenith’s direction.

And just as he had lowkey expected, Zenith’s serene expression had turned angsty, as crossing his arms over his broad chest, Zenith was glowering exactly at Stephan’s arm which was grabbing onto Kylian’s. Not only he, but three of his bully gang Alphas were also scowling at Stephan as if a herd of beasts were ogling at their prey.

"Stephan, I don’t think this is the right place to talk about it now. Let’s attend the class at first, then we can talk about it. Take your seat for now." Kylian instinctively unleashed his arm which was grabbed by Stephan while he tried to divert the matter for now.

But upon saying that to him, Kylian realized all the desks were already taken by the students in the class, and only one student was allotted per desk. That meant, there were no spare desks left for Stephan in the first place.

Immediately after his realization, he saw Stephan frowning with a distressed look in his dilated eyes when he fearfully glanced at Zenith’s direction.

Watching him glaring at them already, Stephan sounded a bit nervous when he uttered, "It’s okay, Kylian, I can wait outside until you finish the class. I am sorry I impulsively ran after you in here, I shouldn’t have done that."

"Wait, what are you saying? You’re also supposed to attend the class..." Confused by his answer, when Kylian urged him again, he saw Stephan’s legs were shivering a little as if he was scared!

"No, I can’t be here. I am not supposed to attend those classes with Master whenever he would be present. I can’t make any mistakes because I don’t want to get beaten up again. It’s fine, I can just stand outside and listen to the lecture." Stephen tried to forge a small smile when he answered, but the dread of being brutally bullied all this time was clearly visible on his face.

"Oye, you wimpy brat! Do you want to die by Master’s hand today? Was that day’s beating not enough for you to heed his command, huh? Did you dare to show up again today in the same class as him? Maybe we gotta break your legs this time so that you won’t be able to get off your damn bed."

A tall Alpha from the bully gang scowled at Stephan loudly in front of the class, making other students snicker at his humiliation.

However, the bitter sound of those snickers ran shivers down his spine as Kylian felt disgusted by all those apathetic Alpha and a few betas surrounding them. And as expected, Stephan winced from his howl and immediately bowed his head, as if he proceeded to leave, "I-I am very sorry, Sir. I...I will leave right away. I...I won’t show up inside the class again whenever Master...i-is present."

When Stephan was about to turn around and bolt out of the room, Kylian grabbed his hand this time and scornfully glared at the Alpha who insulted him a moment ago. Zenith’s dark eyes looked a bit scary when he saw Kylian grabbing onto Stephan’s hand this time.

But before he could intervene, Kylian grunted aloud, "Behave respectfully to him, he’s your fellow classmate. Stephan is also in the same class as us, and as much as the lessons are necessary for us, it’s important for him too. So, why would he abide by such ridiculous threats? He will attend the class here today, and right with all of us present."

"What! How dare this bastard talk back to me!?" That Alpha boy growled fiercely at Kylian and was about to dash towards him, but Zenith lifted one finger gesturing him to stop his approach.

Noticing his intervention, Kylian also saw Zenith’s face had already darkened as if he was getting irked from the inside.

But without paying attention to him anymore, Kylian tightened his hold on Stephan’s arm when he blurted aloud, "Stephan, you don’t have to stand outside and take the lessons. I am your friend, and you can share the seat with me. From now on, until you get your desk back, you will sit here with me."

"Hey, you are daring to oppose Zenith’s command? How did you get your desk back anyway? Do you have a death wish?" The Alpha boy who was seated at the next desk from Kylian grumbled at him, as his loud declaration had left everyone stunned inside the classroom.

But sensing the situation was turning too complicated, Stephan tried to unleash his hand from his clasp this time, while whispering at him, "Kylian, didn’t I warn you, don’t get on Zenith’s bad side. Don’t create trouble for yourself while you’re here. It’s okay, I can go outside. But we shouldn’t oppose his command—"
