In the vast world of Pokémon, there exists a divide between those Legendary Pokémon regarded as Gods and those seen as Demi-Gods. The God-tier Legendary Pokémon are exceedingly rare, with their existence mainly known through ancient murals and fossilized footprints that have survived the passage of time. In stark contrast, Demi-God Legendary Pokémon are born from the union of a Legendary Pokémon and a regular Pokémon, resulting in a powerful hybrid that is significantly weaker than a true Legendary, but considerably stronger than any ordinary Pokémon. These hybrids find their only competition in well-trained, peak-performing Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon. While many skeptics doubt the existence of true Legendaries, the capture and subsequent genetic analysis of Demi-God Pokémon by elite trainers, such as Brandon of the Battle Frontier, have revealed a mixture of normal Pokémon DNA and unknown DNA strands. It is these mysterious genetic markers that have led scientists to draw the distinction between the God-like Legendary Pokémon and their Demi-God counterparts.

Professor Oak, a renowned researcher, and former Pokémon Champion devoted himself to the study of the DNA of all 146 native Kanto Pokémon. His groundbreaking discovery of a single, common DNA strand in every Pokémon species led him to conclude that Mew, the enigmatic and ancient Pokémon, was the ancestor of all Pokémon. Despite initial criticism, Professor Oak's research garnered significant support from the Church of Mew, propelling him to international fame as the world's foremost Pokémon researcher.

Yet few are aware of a far more astonishing discovery made by Professor Oak. While examining the blood of psychic humans, he found Mew's DNA in much greater quantities. The partially active Mew DNA in psychics led him to delve deeper into ancient murals and texts provided by the Church of Mew. Oak made a shocking revelation that he chose to keep secret: Mew, the Legendary Pokémon, had a hand in shaping mankind itself. Fearing the potential outbreak of religious conflict, Oak never disclosed this information.

As his research progressed, Professor Oak began to identify a select group of Pokémon that not only lacked any Demi-God offspring but had also served as guardians for humanity throughout history. Among these were Mew, the God of Life and Rebirth, who shaped mankind; Celebi, the Lord of Time, who assisted humans during apocalyptic events; and Jirachi, the wish-maker, who bestowed King Midas with his golden touch. This group of Pokémon, whom Oak dubbed "Mythical Pokémon," had never been seen in the modern world. Yet, their profound impact on human history and culture could be traced through myths and legends passed down through generations.

[ Team Rocket Base ]

The atmosphere in the Team Rocket base was tense as Giovanni and Madame Boss stood before a massive, monolithic container filled with a bubbling green liquid. Suspended within the fluid was a partially formed skeleton, an eerie sight that held their undivided attention.

A scientist approached Giovanni, his brow furrowed with concern. "Sir, the fossilized hair of Mew doesn't contain enough DNA to create a complete clone."

Undeterred, Giovanni asked, "Is there any way we can modify the long gaps in the DNA to make the clone viable?"

The room filled with skeptical murmurs as various scientists chimed in to explain why it wouldn't work.

"It's simply too risky," one scientist argued. "The gaps in the DNA are too large; we don't have enough information to fill them in safely."

"Besides," another added, "even if we did attempt to modify the gaps, we cannot guarantee that the resulting creature would bear any resemblance to Mew. It could be a genetic abomination."

A third scientist concurred, stating, "The integrity of the DNA sequence is crucial to the success of this project. Tampering with it could lead to disastrous consequences, both for the clone and for us."

As the scientists debated, Madame Boss chuckled, her gaze shifting to Ghetsis. "Any report from Miyamoto on our dear Mew?" she commanded, her voice cutting through the din. The question hung heavily in the air, the entire room anxiously awaiting news of their elusive quarry.

[ Hoenn Region - Faraway Island ]

The serene and untouched beauty of Faraway Island seemed to be a world away from human intervention. Yet, hidden deep within the lush forest, a discreet Team Rocket bunker lay concealed from even the most

trained eyes. Inside, a young scientist named Dr. Thomas eagerly peered through a well-concealed observation window, his eyes glued to the playful Mew frolicking in the forest.

The sunlight streamed through the canopy above, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor as Mew gracefully leaped from branch to branch, its delicate form almost dancing with the wind. Dr. Thomas's heart raced with excitement as he recorded detailed notes using a voice recorder, capturing every moment of the elusive Pokémon's behavior.

The soothing sounds of rustling leaves and gentle bird calls provided the perfect soundtrack to this harmonious scene, punctuated only by the occasional beep of the recorder. He couldn't believe his luck: being tasked with observing such a rare and enigmatic creature was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I've been tasked to study this Mew closely, learn its patterns, its habits. I'm so excited, to be able to observe such a rare Pokémon is a privilege!

Supervisor Miyamoto said that this will be a way to get a better understanding of not only the Mew species but possibly its connection to other Pokémon

After all, it is said to hold the DNA of every other Pokémon out there. Fresh out of an apprenticeship and studying the elusive Mew? I must be dreaming!

If it weren't for the numerous trackers and cameras they planted, I'd never be able to get a glimpse of it; it's so fast! It also doesn't seem to have any home base; it just goes where it goes.

No Sighting.

I was beginning to think it had moved on. I almost got fired for it even, but was I ever relieved to see that Mew again after a year and a half of nothing?

Supervisor Miyamoto says research isn't going well, won't say what, that it needs to know, but I hope I can recover something special for them, after all, this is for the betterment of Pokémon.

Mew's habits were always so erratic, but recently that's started changing. Now it seems to keep returning to one area we triangulated. There's a lot of food and fresh water, so I guess it wants to settle down for something.

(Didn't think that was possible, honestly.)

-------------

[ Entry number [][][][][][] ]

Something's not right with it. It's far less energetic now, it's stopping to rest in the mapped area for longer and longer, and it's also eating more often.

--------------

[ Entry Number [][][][][][] ]

I've set up the heat cameras in the designated area to observe Mew. I caught a glimpse of it today, appearing to absorb a glowing object that I believe to be the Jewel of Life. It's fascinating to witness such an event. I'll continue monitoring Mew's movements to document any changes in behavior.

------------

[ Entry Number [][][][][][] ]

Mew seems to be exhibiting some unusual behavior. I've noticed that it's been resting more frequently and consuming larger amounts of food. I suspect this might be connected to the absorption of the Jewel of Life. I'll keep a close watch on its activities.

------------

[ Entry Number [][][][][][] ]

I've made a groundbreaking observation today. It appears that Mew is not laying an egg, as one would expect from a Pokémon, but rather it seems to be carrying its offspring in its womb. This is a remarkable discovery, as it suggests that Mew's reproductive process may be different from other Pokémon species. I'll continue to observe and record my findings.

------------

[ Entry Number [][][][][][] ]

Mew's abdomen has noticeably grown over the past few weeks, indicating that it is still carrying its offspring internally. This development further supports my hypothesis that Mew's reproductive process is unique among Pokémon. I can't help but wonder how this discovery may change our understanding of Pokémon biology. I am not a religious man but Mew is considered to be God by many, I wonder how those people will react once they find out that God has children. I have to let the higher-ups know about this.

------------

[ Entry Number [][][][][][] ]

My boss is calling me into a meeting, so I didn't have much observation today. I'll have to make up for that tomorrow.

[ Faraway Island - Mew's Den ]

[ Mew's POV ]

As I lay here in the secluded grove, I can feel the overwhelming sensation of new life within me.

Even if I offend Arceus by stealing his Jewel of Life, I wouldn't regret it because I can finally call myself a mother.

I am about to bring forth not one, but two beings into this world, and the thought fills me with warmth and trepidation. My breaths are slow and measured as I prepare myself for the incredible experience that is about to unfold.

The first contraction washes over me, and I close my eyes, focusing my energy on welcoming the twins into the world. I can sense their energy and spirits, so uniquely individual yet beautifully connected. The pain intensifies with each passing moment, but I know it will all be worth it once I hold my newborns in my arms.

As the labor progresses, I find solace in the peacefulness of the grove, its gentle rustling leaves and soft trickling stream offering comfort and reassurance. The presence of other Pokémon in the area is subtle as if they too understand the significance of this moment.

Finally, the time has come. With one last push, I feel the twins emerge into the world. Their tiny, delicate bodies are a testament to the miracle of life.

" Mew !"

I hear them, I can hear their heartbeats.

These are my children

Exhausted and weakened from giving birth, I, inched closer to my newborn twins, my movements slow and deliberate. I could still see the placenta attached to my womb, a visceral reminder of the miracle that had just taken place. As I approached my children, a sudden explosion rocked the cave, sending a shower of debris into the air. A metallic claw shot through the opening, seizing my precious babies and pulling them from me as I tried to summon my strength but I quickly found that my Psychic powers bounced off the claw as if coated in a dark type aura.

As the claw retreated, it broke the cave wall completely, revealing a swarm of helicopters hovering menacingly above, their rotors slicing through the air. On the ground, an armada of vehicles and hundreds of Dark-type Pokémon glared at me with malicious intent. I tried to ignore them, my focus is instead drawn to the figure at the center of the chaos.

Madame Boss stood there, a tall, imposing woman with sharp features and an air of ruthless authority. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders, framing a cold, arrogant smirk that made my blood run cold. Her eyes seemed to bore into me, enjoying the terror that gripped my heart. Flanking her were two men, each cradling one of my children with a false sense of tenderness while pressing guns to their fragile skulls.

My heart pounded in my chest as fear threatened to overwhelm me. Desperation driving me, I stretched my paw out, begging for my children's lives.

Madame Boss's smirk only widened, her voice dripping with contempt as she sneered, "What a sight to see—A God begging man for something."

With a snap of her fingers, the Dark-type Pokémon responded to her command, unleashing a barrage of Dark Pulses at me. The pain was excruciating, each blast like a dagger of darkness slicing through my being. Yet I endured it for the sake of my children, my love for them unwavering in the face of this terrible threat. I would do anything to protect them, even if it meant withstanding the onslaught of an entire army.

In the midst of the relentless assault by the malevolent Dark-type creatures, gunshots reverberated through the cavernous expanse. Even as I valiantly endured the vicious onslaught, an irresistible force compelled me to steal a glance at the source of the dreadful noise. My heart quivered, nigh on breaking, as I beheld the limp forms of my beloved offspring, cast unceremoniously to the cold, unforgiving ground.

Madame Boss, a woman of unspeakable cruelty, shrieked at the men, her voice a cacophony of rage and disbelief.

"What have you done?" she demanded, her eyes wide with fury and shock.

My grief and horror, once contained within the fragile bounds of sanity, now gave rise to a primordial bellow that shook the very foundations of the earth. Psychic energies, unseen yet undeniably potent, coiled around the nefarious Dark-type Pokémon and the wretched humans who served them. They were hoisted into the air, mere playthings in the throes of my unfathomable despair.

With paws clenched in a futile attempt to hold onto the remnants of a shattered reality, I concentrated the full force of my anguish upon those who had caused it. In a horrifying instant, each life was extinguished, their forms reduced to unrecognizable heaps of gore. The only souls spared from my wrath were the execrable guards who had pulled the trigger—Miyamoto and another, their faces forever etched in my memory.

As the psychic energy held them in place, a paroxysm of terror seized Miyamoto.

She stammered out a pitiful plea for mercy, but no words could assuage the maelstrom of emotion that had consumed me.

"Please... forgive me," she begged, her voice trembling with fear.

Drawing ever nearer, I extended a trembling paw to her visage. A mere touch and the very fabric of Miyamoto's existence began to unravel. At first, it was imperceptible—a slight trembling in her form as the psychic energy within me connected to her on the deepest level. But as the connection grew stronger, the full force of my anguish and wrath surged through her, mercilessly tearing at the molecular bonds that held her together.

Her skin began to blister and boil, the heat of my psychic energy rendering her unrecognizable. Her eyes widened with terror, her final desperate pleas for mercy stifled by the pain that now consumed her. As I continued to channel my power, her body began to disintegrate, each atom separating from its neighbors and dissipating into the air.

The gruesome process continued, reducing Miyamoto to nothing more than a cloud of shimmering particles that hung in the air like a malevolent mist.

With a surge of determination, I clenched my paw, and the shimmering particles that once constituted Miyamoto began to coalesce. The air around her former form rippled and twisted, as if reality itself was bending to my will. Channeling an indescribable display of power, I forged a new being from the remnants of her disintegrated form—a grotesque chimera that defied comprehension.

This appalling creature was a fusion of human and Pokémon, its limbs and features was a sickening amalgamation of the two. The chimera's skin was a patchwork of scales and flesh, and its eyes, once filled with fear, now bore an emptiness that chilled me to the core. Its twisted body twitched and writhed, a testament to the unnatural forces that had given it life. In this dreadful moment, I had created an abomination that defied the very laws of nature.

Hovering above the monstrous creation, I allowed a single drop of my blood to fall upon it. As the crimson droplet struck its misshapen form, a curse took root, binding the chimera to a fate of eternal suffering for its unforgivable sin. The creature's anguished moans filled the air, a dreadful symphony that served as a reminder of the boundless depths of a mother's grief and the lengths to which she would go to avenge her children.

A camera, positioned discreetly within the cavern, captured Mew's every action. Heartbroken, Mew descended to the lifeless forms of her children, gently touching their small bodies. As her paws made contact, a transformation occurred—their forms were reduced to shimmering, ethereal wisps of golden light. Overcome with grief, Mew collapsed to the ground, her cries echoing through the desolate chamber.

Inside the dimly lit interior of the Team Rocket base. Giovanni and Ghetsis stood side by side, their eyes fixed on a screen displaying Mew's sorrowful actions. A sinister amusement danced in their eyes as they watched the heartrending display unfold.

Ghetsis turned to Giovanni, a twisted grin on his face. "You've outdone yourself, Giovanni," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "Eliminating Madame Boss through Miyamoto was a masterstroke."

Giovanni chuckled in response, his laughter cold and devoid of empathy.

" It was just a matter of convincing her to teleport Mew's children with defective clones."

He turned his gaze to the large, monolithic containers filled with green liquid that dominated the room. Suspended within the containers, two tiny bodies floated in eerie silence— Mew's children.

A perverse sense of satisfaction settled upon the two men as they reveled in their twisted scheme. Unbeknownst to Mew, her anguish and despair had played directly into their malevolent plan, leaving them poised to exploit the full potential of her legendary progeny.

Failure, failure, failure. It's just like the previous tests. Even with a Mew fossil, its DNA is simply too unstable to create a viable clone, not with so many gaps, not even when we fill them with other species.

I'm afraid the project is doomed to stay a pipe dream, no matter how many years we've invested in it.

...

Mew is about to give birth, we named each newborn, "Mewtwo."

None of us had any interest in the intern's blabbering on about what Mew likes to eat, but a discovery has been made.

....

I pride myself as a scientist and a respectable Pokémon researcher. But I suppose I surrendered my right to call myself respectable when I agreed to join this project.

The fossil wasn't enough, but the infants will be enough.

Embryos would have been preferable, but we don't have a hope of catching it before it is delivered.

...

An extraction team will be deployed within the next 24 hours. We will do what we must, and in the name of this scientific breakthrough, we will see this project to the end.

We will have our Mewtwo.

I will not fail again.

This time I will get you back, my dear daughter, Leaf Green.

In the depth of night, darkness enveloped the world, broken only by the sorrowful cries of Mew, hidden within the confines of her cave. She sat, her eyes fixated on the exact spot from which her children had been cruelly snatched away, her heart aching with despair.

The eerie silence was suddenly disrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching. Mew's eyes shifted towards the entrance of her cave, her gaze landing on a human figure cloaked in an aura so dark it seemed to swallow the light around him.

"Leave!" Mew projected her thought telepathically, her voice a psychic echo resonating through the cave.

"My master wants to talk," the blonde man replied calmly, undeterred by Mew's powerful presence. As Mew's paws twitched, reality itself seemed to shudder under the influence of her psychic power. Yet, as her energy reached the man, it dissipated, evaporating into the air, thwarted by an enveloping dark aura.

"Darkrai!" Mew whispered, recognition dawning on her as her gaze darted to the trees. From the shadows emerged the legendary Pokémon—Darkrai. It appeared as a shadowy figure, a wisp of white fog-like plume billowing from its head, partially obscuring one of its bright blue eyes. The eerie semblance of hair on its face, the red spiky growth around its neck, and its skinny arms ending in claw-like hands all contributed to its ghostly visage. Draped in tatters that resembled an old, ripped cloak, Darkrai floated without legs, though it could manifest stilt-like appendages if needed.

As the tension in the air thickened, Mew's instincts screamed for her to destroy the threat before her—to obliterate the island and kill both the human and the Count of Darkness. However, a deeper, more primal sense stayed her devastating power. She felt it—a presence more ancient and destructive than Darkrai, an aura that dwarfed her own considerable might.

The human was merely a vessel, a medium being used by a force far greater. Mew's heart sank as the realization dawned on her, the identity of the ancient being clear in her mind.

"Giratina!"

"Do not be afraid, my sister," he said. "I have come to offer you a gift."

Mew hesitated, unsure of what he meant.

"Why are you here, Giratina?"

Giratina chuckled the sound grating on Mew's nerves. "I came to console my sister for her loss," he said.

Mew's skepticism was clear in her tone. "I thought you despised human emotions."

"I do," Giratina's voice emanated from the human vessel, a characteristically cold and detached tone. "But I can appreciate the power one might wield by manipulating these useless emotions."

Mew's eyes narrowed. "Arceus banished you into the Distortion Realm. How can you extend your influence into the physical realm?" she questioned, keenly aware that Giratina, in his current state, posed no direct threat in combat. Her main concern was Darkrai, whose presence could complicate matters significantly.

"Let's just say the Seal of Abyss was lifted," Giratina replied, his smile as hollow as his words. The ancient Pokémon was beyond the concept of emotions, but he manipulated the human vessel—Volo—as a puppet, a ploy to unsettle Mew.

Mew felt a shiver of unease as she processed this revelation, her gaze shifting to Darkrai, who averted his gaze from the ancestor of all Pokémon.

Humans, with their limited understanding, had always perceived the existence of multiple realities as mere speculation. Yet, the true structure of their universe was far more complex. The physical world they inhabited was just one aspect of a vast multiverse. Encasing this physical reality were two giant seals—realms that transcended the physical universe and existed across the multiverse as singular entities: the Mirror World, a realm of dreams, and the Abyss, a realm of nightmares.

These two realms acted as critical seals to the Distortion Realm, a prison realm created by Arceus specifically to contain Giratina. The lifting of these seals implied a breakdown of the barriers that kept Giratina confined, signaling potential chaos for not only the Pokémon world but the multiverse itself.

"Why?" Mew asked Darkrai, her voice laden with a mixture of confusion and betrayal. "Why did he betray Arceus? Why did he lift the seal of the abyss?"

Darkrai remained silent, his figure shrouded more in sorrow than in the darkness that usually defined him.

"For a human woman," Giratina mocked, his voice echoing through Volo, the human vessel. The count of darkness, Darkrai, glared at Volo as the dark type aura that protected him momentarily lifted. Seizing the opportunity, Mew unleashed a torrent of psychic energy, her powers focused on obliterating Volo from existence.

The scene was swift and startling. Psychic energy enveloped Volo, his form dissolving into the ether as if he were made of nothing more substantial than mist. His figure twisted and contorted, breaking apart under the immense force of Mew's attack until nothing remained.

However, the brief victory was just that—brief. To Mew’s dismay, Volo began to regenerate from nothingness, his form slowly reconstituting in the air as if pulled together by unseen forces. Mew realized then that Giratina had made this human immortal, a puppet bound by neither time nor the conventional laws of existence.

"You two should be ashamed," Giratina's voice carried a mocking tone, addressing his avatars. "Avatars of beings beyond existence, concepts yet swayed by the emotions of loss." He reminded Darkrai of his servitude and the consequences of defiance.

Mew's mind raced, piecing together the sinister puzzle. How could the humans have possibly found her? How did they know her avatar would be weakest during the birth of her child? How could they dare to kill a god? The answer was chillingly clear: Giratina had manipulated the humans, providing them with forbidden knowledge, orchestrating their actions to serve his dark whims.

As Mew floated closer to Volo, her eyes glowing with a fierce white light, she spoke with a tone that chilled even the air around them, "You... Haven't changed even after an eternity. You still haven't learned that your actions have consequences." Darkrai took a hesitant step back, sensing the immense power radiating from her.

"Why don't I come into your distortion realm and we fight for an eternity? I'll show you my power, my anger," Mew challenged, her essence beginning to shift towards the entrance of the Distortion Realm.

Giratina, sensing the gravity of her words and the potential shift in the multiverse, smiled slyly.

"I can give you your children back," he offered suddenly, his words halting Mew's advance. This unexpected proposition froze Mew's outer god form just as she was about to blast a hole into the Distortion Realm itself.

"What's the price?"

"Lift your seal from the Distortion Realm, and I'll give you access to the Sea of Ideas," Giratina proposed, his tone smooth, knowing he was offering something irresistible.

The Sea of Ideas existed beyond the multiverse itself, a vast expanse of pure thought and creativity, encircling the supreme being's nest where Arceus slept—beyond existence, beyond dimensionality, beyond even the basic constructs of reality. It was a realm so profound that only Arceus and, by some ancient accord, Giratina had ever traversed its boundless horizons.

Mew understood the gravity of this offer. In the Sea of Ideas, she would surely find her children, lost to her by the machinations of those driven by greed and deception.

"Free will... Emotions," Mew reflected inwardly, her thoughts swirling. "What true weaknesses you bestowed upon us... Father?"

On that fateful day, driven by a tumult of emotions and the piercing sting of loss, Mew made a choice that would echo through the ages. She decided to betray her creator. In a moment marked by the raw, haunting allure of Giratina's promise, she succumbed to a desire that mirrored the very human frailties she had pondered—greed, lust for power, and the devastating allure of forbidden knowledge.

As Mew agreed to lift the seal from the Distortion Realm, a chilling realization dawned upon her: she was enabling a gateway for darker forces to emerge, for the devil—Giratina—to step forth into the broader cosmos.

"Truly, the sins of man will carry this world into a never-ending abyss," Mew thought somberly, her decision casting a long shadow over the fate of the world. "And the world will turn to Ash."

Author Note: Well, that was an intense chapter to write, especially the ending, so it looks like I've addressed it. Project Eve is Miyamoto, who was destroyed and remade by Mew into a monstrosity destined to suffer for eternity. Mew has abandoned this world as she searches for her children's souls in the Sea of Ideas. Therefore, the Mew we saw in the Kingdom of Rota was just another avatar.

Okay, let me explain: the higher-tier legendaries are conceptual beings, with most of their forms being avatars that they use in the physical world. In this context, an avatar means a physical form in another dimension. Think of it like this: the high-tier legendaries are akin to Lovecraftian outer gods... They are beyond human comprehension, with Arceus even beyond them. Now, Mewtwo isn't as strong as Mew or other high tiers like Darkrai, who, as the avatar concept of nightmares, could one-shot Mewtwo.

With Giratina loose, you can guess why Austin is in this world...

In the anime, the fossil Mew's eyelash was a plot point, and I've addressed that here as it wasn't sufficient. Yes, Ghetsis is the leader of Team Plasma, and they also have a Mewtwo from the Black and White Genetic movie.

And why did Austin barf upon getting this information? Because he was watching Miyamoto's video recordings of the incident, witnessing Mew massacre Madame Boss and the Pokémon, and destroy and remake Miyamoto into Project Eve.

[ Omake Paragraph ]

The song of Jigglypuff is often sung to completion, although only insomniacs and other Jigglypuff have ever had the opportunity to listen all the way through. The song ofIgglybuff, on the other hand, has never been recorded in its entirety, nor are there any alive today who can truthfully claim to have heard it.

Igglybuff, like many baby Pokemon, has difficulty remaining awake in the best of times. Even mild physical exertion can drive them easily to sleep, and they have not yet trained their ears to resist the spellbinding and soporific power of their vocal cords. Most Igglybuff songs finish after a few bars, without anyone save the singer falling asleep. A few of the higher-level ones make it through the first couple of verses, causing the already tired to shut their eyes at last. With the aid of Chesto Berries, some have sung for over three minutes before dozing off, even putting most of the audience to sleep before they ran out of energy.

It is recorded in ancient texts that an Igglybuff once finished its tune. The beauty of its song is said to have caused the armies of two warring nations to refuse to fight, and the kings of these countries, once bitter enemies, became friends and allies for the rest of their days. Some, seeking world peace, have sought to make Igglybuff sing once again, but all they have won for their strain are exhausted Pokemon and unintended naps. Perhaps they have simply not figured it out. And perhaps the tale of an Igglybuff's song was never anything more than a legend formed by the human tendency to believe amazing things happen whenever you go beyond the impossible.
