Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead
Chapter 912 - 912: State Of Affairs

Everywhere on the battlefield, and even great distances from it, chaos and destruction were ripe and plentiful, the two ancestors were each handling a disaster beast by themselves, and seemed as though, even the stubbornly resilient creatures would soon fall under their respective assaults.

Solzmimi had located the true body of End, and was relentlessly chasing it down as the disaster beast did everything to run and stop her, but even its insects greatly attuned to the element of light could not resist even a single of bursts of emerald shine, forcing the beast to demonstrate the area it was most skilled in after entomancy- Running away.

Hirzartanli, on the other hand, dealing with Gaze was not technically complicated for her, once transformed into the most powerful form any beast worshipper had ever attained, her strength was many times superior to that of the undead from the black fog void, it struggled admirably and managed to pull itself away multiple times, but no matter what, the beast ancestor was steadily ripping every single one of its legs off, throwing them far into the emerald void.

As for the emerald folks that ranked just below the two greatest individuals of the realm, they too were busy dealing with the monsters raised by Loimos, Ioleznta had been fighting inside the hollows of The Affliction for a while now, fending off against rot summons and undeads hiding around, such an apocalypse knights or dragon worshippers.

Contrary to what the colossal dragon had believed, it was not able to properly contain the Emerald Herald, even whilst diverting most of its attention to her and her alone, she had managed to progress greatly toward her goal, even as it flooded the hollows wit putrescence, Ioleznta would somehow always manage to escape with a scratch, so instead, it filled the hollows with flames of decay, only to receive the same result.

It could not properly affect light with its abilities, so the herald would simply turn into emerald light, and focus on healing- Until she found the source, hiding deep in the hollows and lodged in deep amounts of flesh, there was a crystal that served as the source of the thing that weakened the livings on the battlefield.

Turns out that The Affliction was using some sort of special organ to do that…

The two great priestesses had managed to lead Grail away, stripping the undead of the support provided by the white whale.

Zilania had successfully managed to put Slider down, and was currently engaged in combat with an unexpected guest.

Irlitimiz had engaged another one of the disaster beasts down on the ground, having trouble to properly contain it or get it to move away from the main battlefield as this one was somewhat similar to Gaze, but that it was a serpent that had been infested and learned to control the deep sludge, it was called Crawler, and touching it was a terrible idea, those who had been unfortunate enough to be swipe by its tail, or doused in its venom, had either died after being turned into malformed mess, or been converted to infested undeads as well.

Even controlling a spell that was in contact with it could get you infected, the wolfish priestess had basically the only one that could safely occupy this disaster beast, as the ability of the beast she communed with, the Zuoltr, allowed her to summon a whole bunch of Zuoltr that she had slain and feasted upon.

These conjured beings were somewhat similar to Antieeld's spirits, and they were not easily corrupted by the deep sludge, allowing Irlitimiz to keep Crawler pinned down in a certain area as it was constantly swarmed by hundreds of wolk-like emerald beasts.

As for Iliz and Liliazin, they were dealing with the last disaster beast- Eclipse and The Song were occupied elsewhere, so that only left a most bizarre creature which did not seem very interested in fighting back, a huge, rotund pale creature with skin similar to that of an elephant, with very few defined features, apart from four, incredibly thin legs that it was using to walk around, they were thinner than a person by a long shot, despite the body of the creature being incredibly large.

The legs were also disproportionately long, in terms of pure height, it was the tallest of the beasts without question.

Apart from that, it had a singular eye, which just looked like a large piece of blue jade that had been fused into its flesh.

It was called The Traveler, and it was similarly resilient like Grail was, only that unlike the corpse whale, it was not attacking anything or anyone at all, it wasn't even spreading an effect of weakening like The Affliction was, it was just moved around near the edges of the battlefield.

Which made it all the more threatening as its purpose was unclear.

Even as its flesh was clawed and slashed deeply, or as rays of emerald length pierced through its body or cracked its eye, the disaster beast did not show any reaction, even after Iliz severed its legs and grounded the creature in place, it did not seem to care at all.

"I don't like this, what if it's just a big, walking bomb?" spoke Liliazin as he focused a concentrated beam of light right into the beast's face, slowly burning and penetrating deep into its flesh.

"I doubt a bomb would have such a bestial presence, that thing definitely has a purpose, but I just can't tell what it is, it would certainly help if he could tell what sort of creature this is" Iliz wished that Toby was around so that he would be able to check on the spot…

In the distance, as another flash of emerald engulfed the world, the defeated dark leech suddenly stirred and opened its maw wide, bellowing a most atrocious cry as its body was slowly disintegrating from being subjected to repeated strikes of emerald light.

In response to that, The Traveler seemed to show a reaction at last, emitting a powerful pulse of several energies meshed together, managing to fend off the beam of light fired by the herald, being unhinging its jaw, or rather, tearing it opened as it was shut by thick layer of skin and flesh, revealing an abnormally wide maw filled with thousands of teeth of all sorts of shapes.

A sort of black, purplish matter flowed out as something flickering into being within its mouth, revealing its ability.

As the thing that manifested swirled, many figures suddenly emerged, revealing it to be a portal.

The Traveler had been in charge of bringing in reinforcement.
