Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead
Chapter 837 - 837: Declaration

"Sorry for the interruption! And thank you for not attacking during that time- Oh, but you were just waiting because you wanted to buy time, is that right? Is the unwanted presence with glasses speaking inside your head? Is he using his wretched analysis ability from his special system on me?" Ilyad raised her hands as though she was being accused of something.

"Don't ask where I learned all of this, alright? The answer might anger some of you, and I decided to be nice, we are all going to be brethren soon enough, after all, it wouldn't do to create tensions" she tilted her head to the side, licking her teeth, causing shivers to run down Ilona's spine as she stood up.

The blow to her abdomen had hurt pretty badly, but her armour had done its job and absorbed most of the attack, at most, she would end up with a big bruise on the stomach, though, if she had not been using mana to reinforce her body and armour, or if there had not been empty space behind her to be pushed toward, things could have been much worse, Ilona had not expected Ilyad to be capable of hitting so hard in close quarters.

'Toby, a few moments have passed, got anything for me?'

'Of course! I just had to focus a little more…'

'Wait a minute… Don't tell me you're with Ooaluz right now?!'

'Huh…'

'Oh god, that's just weird man, just tell me what you know already'

'Alright, this Ilyad is a type of zombie that can detach parts of their body and replace them with another, she is not an actual mage, but a sorceress, which apparently means that her internal mana was replaced with a specific element and that she can pretty much only use that particular element, her combat skills are pretty freaking high for caster-type, and also, for some reason, it says that she earned his approval, you know, the one guy whose name we don't say?'

'Is that all?"

'That is all'

'Great, then stop talking and finish your business'

'It's not my fault alright?'

She ignored that last part and pointed her halberd at the undead, who was giving her a strange look.

"If we are doomed to be brethren anyways, why don't you just leave us alone for today, waiting a little bit shouldn't be a problem for the so-called scions of eternity, yes?" Ilona had not come to all of them, but she had been there for a few of the undead preaching sessions, having listened to the one where a cleric specialised in the aspect of Eternity had went on and on about it, so Ilona was well aware of how the undead viewed time, to them, it was nothing, a second and a year might as well be the same thing since they'll exist forever.

"In fact, could you not just… You know, just wait until I just die of old age? Shouldn't be a problem for you guys" in response, the undead just shook her head with a smile.

"Oh… You don't really think I'll fall for this, right? Listen, cutie pie…"

'What the hell did she just call me?'

"...Goes for you two as well, by the way-" Ilyad mimed a kiss at them "-The more we, the righteous dead, progress and further our empire into the world, the more life wriggle and struggle against us, the more we advance, the stronger life becomes, you must have felt it, especially in such a lively realm, the life force within you must have surged to incredible heights since you've escaped here… Some of you are powerful and wouldn't age much naturally, but others? They should have felt the passage of time to some extent, yet, all of you look the same- No, some of you even look younger and in better shape than you did in Tamaris… it isn't because the place is all-natural and due to living peacefully, it's life force"

"Life force has become far more powerful than it once was, all of you will live far beyond your natural life expectancies, and you will retain your youth for far longer as well, basically, it's like you all became elves"

"And whilst we are accepting that our progress in the conquest and liberation of this world from life's tyranny will slow down the further we go, we are never just going to simply stop trying to move forward" Ilyad grinned.

"You could just skip this realm for now, not like realms get in the way of conquering the main world" Hoffnu spoke up.

"That is correct, but General Loimos is the one who gives the orders on the frontline, King Nitok trusts him wholeheartedly to do what is correct, and General Loimos knows how to fasten our progress, which is by conquering realms completely, fill them up with our miasma and extend the king's dominion to them, and then open them up to the outside, forcefully flooding life-filled areas in little to no time and bypassing the resistance"

"The Emerald Realm… It is perhaps the most lively realm we have discovered yet, and it is different from other realms who are locked in a certain location of the main world, it is one that can be accessed from anywhere as long as you know the correct method, so we could theoretically have it be opened up anywhere we want"

She shrugged and reached for something behind her back.

"Alright, let's stop discussing, Miss Defoim'nocle–Big fan of the name, by the way–Should have the spell she has been forming for the past few minutes ready by now" Ilyad surged forward, pulling out a curved blade from behind her back, the weapon was clearly a Kukri.

The blade crashed against Ilona's copper halberd.

"When I got cut just now, I felt something incredible, you know?! I think I have grown very, very fond of you three, in a way that is most vexing for me as an undead! So if you could die quickly, I would appreciate it!"

Ilona and Ilyad both attempted to strike their opponent with their knees, both collided hard, but neither faltered, the undead only retreating by pushing herself off the ground with pillars of red ice as Hoffnu took a swing at her.

Landing upon one of the branches of the large tree nearby, Ilyad charged her blade with mana, and launched sickles of blood ice at the three livings, both Ilona and Hoffnu moving to defend Defoim'nocle as the water champion did not budge even as she clearly saw the spell coming.

"Done" she spoke quietly, a bead of sweat rolling down the side of her face as the mana in the area surged and turned, within moments, the entire place was filled with water, engulfing even the trees.

Ilyad raised her hand, freezing the water as a crystal-like formation shaped itself from her palm, homing in on the livings, only to abruptly stop as her ice was shattered.

The water pressure increased greatly as bubbles began to form, as it was also heating up toward the boiling point.

Simultaneously trying to do both at once, the mana was chaotic and the undead could hardly form any spells outside of her own body, and neither was she really adapted to underwater movement.

The three livings meanwhile, were simply leaving, unobstructed as Defoim'nocle opened a way through the water.

'Heh, not bad' the spell was a major hindrance, but it did not deal any damage whatsoever.

Once it came undone, her targets were completely gone.

'That was a good spell, even if I had given it my all, I wouldn't have been able to completely dispel it… The elemental champions definitely improved'

Ilyad wasn't dissatisfied with missing her occasion to kill them, she would get them another time.
