Chapter 114: Despair Paradise

Chapter 114: Despair Paradise

Farther away, in a car crossing the countryside, Gloria, with a hand on her face, groaned.

"Maybe it’s this music toy? I received it as a gift, maybe it was a trap? She must have put a spying device inside!"

Next to her, Moonra and Solaria were silent, immobile, and in shock, a devastated expression on their faces.

Solaria eventually glanced at the window from where they would see a little of the Rift.

"... Dora."

Back in the burning city, debris was falling from the sky.

Guild members struggled as much as they could against the never-ending army of Dragon, but their behavior suddenly changed after the attack of Dora and Midgard.

They flew higher, moving away from the giant snake.

Elizabeth crushed the head of one of the three giant Dragons, in mid-air, and looked at Dora and Midgard.

To her surprise, Fafnir’s body was melting.

His skin, destroyed, let appear a red gelatinous substance.

Midgard opened widely her mouth to finish him, while Dora approached from behind, ready to use his blessing to steal his skills, but the voice of Elizabeth distracted the young man’s attention.

"RUUUUN!!!"

As Dora turned around, he was taken aback by the Dragon’s sudden glow. However, it was too late for him and Midgard to understand the beast’s intentions as they were caught in yet another explosion.

The resulting blast sent shockwaves that caused the earth to shake and sent raging winds that engulfed everyone on the ground.

As the dust settled, a group of emissaries emerged from the debris. Among them was a Holy knight with red hair, and a mustache accompanied by three guild members, including the old man who had previously threatened Agiel. They watched in disbelief as a red blast rushed towards them, knowing they wouldn’t be able to avoid it.

As the explosion hit them, the emissaries disappeared in a burst of bright light. The raging winds hurled debris and freed a little girl who had been tucked for a while under buildings. She was able to apply healing to herself, a dizzy look on her face.

The scene was chaotic, with smoke and debris everywhere. The ground shook violently, and the air was filled with the sound of the explosion and the howling winds. Despite the chaos, the little girl remained calm, her eyes fixed on the sky.

"Uh? What is this?... I am still alive?.... ugh..... what a pain... Don’t you think?"

She turned to a woman from the guild emissaries, or more precisely, her decapitated head.

The dean giggled, tears starting to fall as she watched the Dragons descend again.

"I don’t want to be immortal anymore..."

Elizabeth emerged from the ground and rushed to Dora’s location, Midgard, severely injured on several parts was coiling.

Her huge body became a weakness as she couldn’t escape any attack, and under her eyes, Fafnir had tripled in size.

The Dragon, once again gigantic, raised its head and let out a monstrous roar, finishing off the last buildings standing.

The capital, the most beautiful city in the Kingdom, a holy ground for the nobles for generations, was now a burning cemetery.

Dragons drowned the sky, blasting their destructive breaths on any emissary that they found moving, and in the middle, Fafnir with his primal form, charged the red breath of doom.

The left side of his head suddenly exploded, and Elizabeth appeared right next to him.

The Dragon’s head was colossal, but so was the legend’s attack.

He opened his jaw widely to crush her when a gigantic sword appeared from a black hole and pierced through the inside of his mouth.

Dora appeared behind Elizabeth, his roasted body healing.

Seeing the opportunity, Midgard charged a new attack.

The two giant dragons flew toward her, charging destructive breath, but Elizabeth spun around and gave a sword slash in the air, projecting a slash of energy into the eyes of one of the giants.

The beast howled in pain, but the second one was ready to shoot.

A red comet struck his head, forcing the mouth to close and explode by its own attack.

Elizabeth was surprised to see Peters again, his lance planted on the head of the Dragon.

She took a quick breath and rushed forward, giving another wonderful blow and cutting the head of the jawless Dragon, then another to the blind one.

Midgard, her mouth shining, rushed to Fafnir and bit him by the throat before unleashing her attack, above them, the army of Dragon converged, but their body disintegrated face to Dora’s cloud of microscopic weapons boosted with the power of Fafnir’s implosion.

Agharita walked, looking haggard, and stopped near Candace who was getting up.

The dean noticed her and frowned.

"You’re still here? What’s wrong with you? You have legs, you have power, why are you still here?!"

Agharita gave her an emotionless gaze and stared at the battle of Titans.

"You want me... To join them?"

"You idiot, does it look like we have a chance?"

The Holy Knight looked again at her master who was focused on the battle.

"Agharita, We can’t win this... unless a miracle happens, we won’t win. We don’t have awakened Avatars, we don’t have a trump card... We can’t win, this is a suicidal mission, so if you have strength left, run away."

This time, Agharita’s eyes regained life.

"Master? You want me to run away?"

"To be fair, I just hate your guts, you and the other Holy Knights, but I have affection for those who fight to protect people. Your presence will change nothing, you’re not strong enough to take a Player, so do like every smart person and run!"

A moment of silence passed. Candace intrigued to hear nothing, looked at Agharita and was surprised to see her in tears.

"Girl... If you’re in this state because of me, at least return the favor by taking Ely and Peters."

"Maaaaster..." Agharita shouted profusely as she fell to her knees.

Candace turned around to her surprise, shaking her by the shoulders.

"Hey, stop that! It’s not... This... This... Eh... Hehe.... hehehe...."

Suddenly, Candace burst into hysterical laughter, and Agharita openly cried.

In the sky, Peters stopped fighting, the jaw of a Dragon approaching but saved in extremity by Elizabeth who cut the monster.

"Are you stupid?! Don’t sleep, you idiot!"

Peters carried by the young woman shook his head and shouted angrily.

"RAAAAHHH!!!!! SHUT UP! SHUT UUUUUUP!!!!! I’m sick of this, I’m sick of you and everyone! Let me die!!!"

Elizabeth lifted him like a bag and brought his face closer to her.

"You will continue to fight until your body turns to dust, then I will allow you to die! Now, grab your weapon, stand up, and dig your grave!!!"

Peters had a desperate look in his eyes.

"But... Elizabeth.... We can’t... This is over now..."

Candace hugged Agharita, patting her back.

"Now, now, calm down, this is God’s punishment for benefiting from a Sin."

Dora, surrounded by Dragons, also stopped fighting, his gaze showing a huge mental fatigue.

"For god’s sake..."

Midgard’s head was raised too, without an expression of emotion.

Elizabeth, sword lowered, also raised her eyes to heaven.

"Well... Now I don’t see how I’ll study into a real university one day."

The sky tore apart, and the ground darkened under the shadow of a gigantic being crossing the Rift.

Another Player had appeared.
