Chapter 74 - 74 74 Nizi Comes
74: Chapter 74 Nizi Comes 74: Chapter 74 Nizi Comes As he daydreamed, Chen Yang drifted off to sleep without even realizing it, not waking up until the next day when sunlight streamed in through the window.
The first thing he did upon rising was the same as always, a simple wash-up, after which Chen Yang hurried to the backyard to scatter some corn kernels for the wild chickens.
Next, he visited the rabbit breeding ground to check on the rabbits’ condition.
He noticed that after a day of adjustment, the rabbits had regained their wild nature, no longer looking listless as they had in the cowshed.
Upon seeing Chen Yang, the rabbits all turned into fleeting shadows and then disappeared into the woods without a trace.
Seeing the rabbits in such good spirits allowed Chen Yang to rest easy.
After leaving the breeding grounds, Chen Yang went back and made himself a simple breakfast.
Around eight-thirty in the morning, the construction crew arrived.
After greeting Chen Yang, they proceeded to work on Weed Slope.
Chen Yang had been thinking of joining them, but he decided against it, recalling that Yang Zi was coming to see him that day.
“With Yang Zi’s help, things should be much easier for me, and when I’m out, she can keep an eye on the clinic,” Chen Yang mumbled to himself as he sat alone at the clinic door.
Chen Yang sat in front of the clinic for a while, and it was probably past nine o’clock when he saw a figure approaching in the distance on the village path.
Focusing his gaze, he recognized it was Yang Zi, the tall and attractive young woman.
Today, Yang Zi was wearing a very fashionable crop top, paired with very short blue denim shorts.
This outfit perfectly showcased her immaculate figure,
her slender, fair legs as well as the enticing line of her waist!
Just one glance could send one’s thoughts astray.
However, these were not the most enticing aspects.
The most enticing was, indeed, the curve accentuated by the fitted crop top… it seemed as though the entire flimsy garment might burst at the seams!
Gazing at the protruding fabric, Chen Yang’s eyes were momentarily transfixed.
It wasn’t until Yang Zi got close that Chen Yang snapped back to reality.
“Chen Yang, brother…” Yang Zi, who had approached, noticed Chen Yang’s gaze and her cheeks turned a slight shade of red.
“Ahem, Yang Zi, you’re here,” Chen Yang said with a forced smile, averting his eyes from her clothing.
“Mm-hmm, I’ve come to report for duty,” Yang Zi nodded.
“Then come on in.
I’ll give you a tour of the clinic’s facilities first, and then explain some of the medicinal uses!” Chen Yang stood up and proposed.
Yang Zi nodded and followed Chen Yang into the clinic.
Once inside the clinic, Chen Yang became serious, no longer distracted by other thoughts.
Managing a clinic is a matter to be taken with utmost caution; if Yang Zi made any error and mistreated someone, the consequences could be severe.
With due seriousness, Chen Yang introduced all the facilities and some medicines in the clinic to Yang Zi.
Yang Zi followed closely behind Chen Yang, listening attentively to his explanations, occasionally nodding in understanding.
Having finished introducing the clinic’s facilities, Chen Yang turned around with a smile and said, “So that’s pretty much everything in my clinic.
I believe for a college student like you, understanding this shouldn’t be difficult.”
“Mm-hmm, it’s indeed not challenging.
Besides, I’ve studied most of these in school and I’m familiar with their uses,”
Yang Zi nodded with a smile.
“Great, if you understand all that, then your job will be to help me manage the clinic.
When I’m here, you will learn clinical experience from me, and when I’m not, you’ll need to handle the consultations yourself,” Chen Yang explained.
“Alright, Chen Yang brother.
I’ve been studying for several years and have always been eager to engage in clinical consultations,”
Yang Zi’s face was alight with excitement, and she looked incredibly sweet and endearing.
It was also clear to see how eager Yang Zi was to engage in clinical consultations.
“Hehe, you’ll have plenty more chances in the future.
I’ve been busy recently with two new farms I’ve opened, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see patients on your own,” Chen Yang said.
“Okay, Chen Yang!
I’ll take care of your little clinic for you from now on!”
The excitement on Ningzi’s face intensified.
Seeing Ningzi’s excited face, Chen Yang simply smiled and didn’t say much.
He casually pulled a stool over for Ningzi to sit on.
Then, from the drawer of his desk, he took out several medical books and handed them to Ningzi: “These books are some that I’ve collected over the years.
I believe they will be of some help to you.”
“When it’s quiet at the clinic, you can take the time to read them.”
“Thank you, Chen Yang!”
Ningzi looked up, took the old books from Chen Yang’s hand, and immediately started flipping through them.
Having made sure Ningzi was all set up, Chen Yang also lay down on the rocking chair in front of the counter.
He too took out a very ancient-looking medical book from the drawer and began to read.
Today was Ningzi’s first day helping out at his clinic, so naturally, Chen Yang had to stay and couldn’t leave.
With no patients in the clinic, he naturally had to pass the time with these books.
Chen Yang thought it was going to be an exceptionally boring day, but then, as noon approached…
Wang Hong arrived at Chen Yang’s clinic with the support of two or three villagers.
“Yang Zi!
Hurry and take a look at Wang Hong’s leg!
Take care of it quickly.” As they entered the clinic, one of Wang Hong’s aunts shouted at Chen Yang, who was lying in the rocking chair.
At her words, Chen Yang sprang up from the rocking chair and saw Wang Hong being supported, his face turning pale.
Then, looking down at Wang Hong’s foot, he saw that her entire right foot was soaked in blood.
“What happened?” Chen Yang quickly asked.
“Your Aunt Wang was working in the fields when she suddenly stepped on a piece of glass!
Who knows which heartless person threw glass into the rice paddies!” Responding to Chen Yang’s question, one of the aunts immediately explained the situation, cursing under her breath.
Country folk despise nothing more than littering in the rice paddies.
Especially dangerous glass shards.
“Quick, help Aunt Wang to the sickbed so I can treat her wound,” said Chen Yang urgently, gesturing for them to help her onto the bed so he could get to work.
Because Wang Hong’s injury was very serious—the bright red blood had trailed all the way.
“All right.”
The aunts nodded immediately, then helped Aunt Wang into the clinic’s small room and had her lie down on the bed.
Chen Yang knelt down, lifted Wang Hong’s right foot, and started to examine it.
He saw an eight-centimeter-long wound on the sole of Wang Hong’s right foot, with the glass fragments still embedded in it.
Chen Yang wasn’t particularly affected by the sight of such a wound.
But Ningzi, seeing such a ghastly injury, couldn’t help shivering and said, “Chen Yang…
that’s a big wound.
Shouldn’t she go to the county hospital?
That needs stitches.”
In Ningzi’s view, such a severe wound surely needed treatment from modern medical equipment.
Otherwise, it couldn’t be properly treated.
After all, there were many glass fragments embedded in the wound that couldn’t be cleanly removed by the naked eye.
But Chen Yang, after silently contemplating the wound for a while, turned his head to Ningzi and said, “Ningzi, go fetch me a basin of clean water, and then bring me the tweezers, gauze, iodine, pain relievers, and any other wound treatment medications!”
“Okay…”
Upon hearing this, Ningzi hesitated for a moment, but she didn’t dare delay and turned to get the items.
