Chapter 891: Chapter 891 The Father of Little Bastard Xiao Wang is (7)
Old Lady Xia cried and cursed, and Xia Hao’s roar suddenly exploded beside her ear like a clap of thunder.
"Don’t you dare insult my parents!"
Like thunder from a clear sky, Xia Hao’s voice was full of vigor, startling Old Lady Xia into forgetting her wailing and looking at her second grandson with a fearsome expression.
"Grandma, I acknowledge and respect you for raising my dad, which is why I address you as Grandma. But my parents have worked tirelessly their whole lives; you have no right to insult them." Xia Hao strode furiously to Old Lady Xia and looked down at her as he spoke.
For a fleeting moment, Old Lady Xia felt a twinge of fear. This wasn’t the same Xia Hao they’d always bullied, the weak and useless person they knew. The threatening air about him even made Old Lady Xia shiver.
After a moment of stunned silence, Xia Laoda was the first to snap back to reality.
"Wow, little calf, your wings are fully grown, huh? You dare to hit my son, and now you’re lecturing the old lady? You little beast, you must explain yourself for what happened to Xiao Feng, get your parents out here!" Xia Laoda glared at Xia Hao, pointing fiercely at his nose, spluttering.
Xia Hao looked calmly at the livid Xia Laoda and said in an even, firm tone, "My parents aren’t here today; whatever needs to be decided, I will decide it myself."
"You make the decisions? What can you, a little bastard, decide?!"
Old Lady Xia screamed, her voice grating like fingernails incessantly scraping a blackboard, making one’s teeth sour.
No sooner had her words fallen than a dark shadow flashed swiftly, and Old Lady Xia’s face was met with two loud, resounding slaps.
"Who? Who hit me?!" Old Lady Xia, dazed from the slap, screeched, covering her face.
An Yiqing steadied herself and appeared ominously before Old Lady Xia with a grim smile on her face.
"I slapped you, Old Lady. Xia Hao may be your grandson, but I am not. If I want to hit, I’ll hit; if I want to kill, I’ll kill. If you can, hit me back, why don’t you?"
An Yiqing hadn’t intended to get physical but listening to Old Lady Xia calling Xia Hao "little beast" and "little bastard," she couldn’t help but become enraged.
Her own grandson was being insulted in such a way; Old Lady Xia’s heart was simply black!
Old Lady Xia looked in horror at An Yiqing, who had suddenly appeared. Her scalp began to tingle. She turned to look at Xia Hao, then at An Yiqing, and then at Gu Yelin and the others who had just arrived.
"Not bad, little bastard, I wondered why you were so bold today—the cavalry has arrived!" Old Lady Xia’s face lit up with realization, her gaze towards Xia Hao even more hostile. "You are a little bastard, and I wasn’t wrong! You even conspire with outsiders to bully your own grandma. All those years of upbringing, have they been digested into your stomach? I don’t even know what enchanting potion your mother, that little vixen, gave to Lao Er, convincing him to raise another’s child!"
"Don’t you dare insult my mother!" Xia Hao was thoroughly infuriated.
Although Xia Hao was overweight, his facial features bore a resemblance to Father Xia from childhood to adulthood. Besides, Father Xia and Mother Xia had Xia Hao a year after their marriage; it wasn’t a shotgun wedding. Just by his looks alone, anyone with eyes could see that Xia Hao was definitely Xia Laoer’s blood—how could the shrewd Old Lady Xia not see that?
Yet, despite this, she persisted in pinning a cuckold’s hat on her second son’s head, framing Mother Xia with the infidelity of bearing another man’s child.
Faced with such insults to his parents, Xia Hao was incensed beyond measure.
"My dad is your biological child. Why do you treat him like this? Have you ever shown him even a hint of maternal love from childhood until now? All the things you and your family wear and use were all earned by my dad’s hard work. What gives you the right to insult him? And regarding my mom, when she was in confinement you all made trouble; because of you, there wasn’t even money for my milk powder. Do you have any conscience? My mom has loyally taken care of you for over twenty years, is this how you repay her? It seems to me the ones lacking conscience are you!"
Old Lady Xia stared dumbfounded at Xia Hao, who spoke as eloquently as if his tongue were a lotus flower. She trembled, pointing a finger at him, about to speak.
"Shut up! I haven’t finished talking, don’t you know manners?" Xia Hao sharply cut off the words that had almost escaped Old Lady Xia’s lips. With his eyes glaring, standing tall beside Old Lady Xia, he seemed like an iron tower.
"Old Lady, me calling you Grandma is based on our blood relation. You think I really care about you? Little bastard, little bastard, you’ve been calling me that. You’ve said ’little bastard’ ten times, ’little beast’ eight times, ’son of a bitch’ five times. Old Lady, I don’t blame you for your lack of education, but let me tell you, from a genetic standpoint, if I’m a little bastard, then my dad would be a big one, and what does that make you, the one who birthed a bastard?!"
Xia Hao rattled off a series of biting retorts in quick succession, even earning An Yiqing’s applause.
She never imagined that the usually steady and honest Xia Hao could be so... fierce.
But thinking about it carefully, it made sense genetically speaking: if the son is a little jerk, then his father would be a big one, so what would that make the parents who gave birth to him...old...jerk?
