PAMPERED BY MY THREE BROTHERS: THE RETURN OF THE NEGLECTED HEIRESS -

Chapter 1715: That’s enough breather
"And they answer only to Mr. Zorken — and the person who would have this passcode or perhaps, a coordinate of where they hide, will be considered Mr. Zorken’s heir."
Another wave of silence dawned on them as they let everything sink in.
"A code or a coordinate...?" Dean murmured, scratching the back of his head as he was barely following this investigation report.
He glanced at everyone present, catching the grim look on their faces. However, what surprised him the most was Slater being in the same room. Throughout the beginning, Slater hadn’t spoken a word. However, his reaction told Dean that this third son of the Bennets was also in on it.
Quite unexpected.
But even more surprising was that there were four Naylanis. Not even two—but four! But so far, that was still unclear, since from Zoren’s story, only three daughters were raised in the Zorken Family, in this secret society.
’One of them died, and her name is Noel,’ Dean thought. ’One of them is Enzo Pierson’s wife? Then, this evil sister. How about the fourth one?’
There were still so many questions lingering in Dean’s mind. Although he was slowly catching up on the investigation, the Bennets had been conducting.
Meanwhile, everyone remained quiet for a different reason than Dean.
This information, after all, just changed everything they had until now.
For them, Noel—Haines’s ex-lover—had concocted this lethal drug. And according to the investigation, she wrote the formula underneath her skin. It made sense since this lethal drug was generating hundreds of millions alone.
But then again, retaining the sample of this pill was still enough to study it and replicate it. It wouldn’t be easy, but the chances still existed. But for them to abduct Charles and torture him for Noel’s remains, it made more sense why they would go that far.
"Does this mean Noel is the real heir?" Atlas asked after a prolonged silence, and then all eyes were back on Zoren.
"No." Zoren shook his head. "At least, from what I know, Noel was simply told about it for safekeeping. After all, the late Mr. Zorken was aware that a war could arise with his decision. We can all conclude he did it on purpose because he wanted the next head of the family to be capable."
"In other words, he chose Naylani because he thought she was the better option," Hugo concluded with a nod. "He did so to make both Naylani and Nathalie fight for the seat."
Penny rubbed her chin mildly as she thought about it as well. "In that case, if Nathalie managed to overthrow Naylani, then that only proves that she’s worthy. But if Naylani stood her ground, that means no one can challenge this decision anymore."
"So in conclusion, it still aligns with why the late Mr. Zorken wanted more than just one child," Zoren added with certainty. "It’s all to preserve their family."
"But instead of preserving it, he didn’t see what kind of daughters he had raised," Atlas rocked his head as everything was becoming clearer now. "But then again, even in the past, whenever a new power comes to rise, it still becomes bloody, and half of the people who were already in power will be forced to take a side. The losses will open doors for restructuring the power to benefit the new ruler."
"This feels like listening to a kingdom story from ancient times," Dean commented, leaning back. "But if I may, why does Naylani sound like the good guy here?"
Everyone turned their heads in his direction, all wearing dead expressions.
"What?" Dean raised his brows. "Don’t tell me you haven’t realized I’ve been here all along?"
"No, but..." Penny’s face soured as she turned to her husband. "Why is this guy here? Listening to this conversation as if he managed to buy a VIP ticket for a front-row seat?"
"He’s the one who led us to that information on the wall," Atlas pointed at the wall. "He got the right to demand to feel included... even temporarily."
Hugo nodded. "Even if he gets in trouble after this, that’s his own choice. After all, there’s a saying that knowing too much is just as deadly as knowing none."
Dean’s face soured. "Are you telling me you’re hoping that I, knowing all this, will get killed in the end?"
"Pfft—" Finn stifled a laugh, earning a glare from Dean. "Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to laugh, but it feels refreshing that someone else is getting all these things... from them."
"God..." Dean scoffed, looking at everyone in disbelief. "How come this guy is allowed here?"
"Finn is marrying into our family," Atlas explained with a nonchalant shrug. "Sadly, Charles Bennet only has two daughters, so you can’t marry into our family anymore."
"Unless you’re open to same-sex marriage," Hugo leaned in and whispered to Dean. "First Brother is open to the idea."
’I’d rather die than marry a man, and Atlas Bennet at that.’ Dean eyed Hugo with murderous intent, as if Hugo had just tainted his innocent mind.
"Enough of that." Before this could lead to anything else, Charles interrupted. "I know all this information is overwhelming, boys. But let’s not get distracted—that’s enough of a breather for all of us."
Penny nodded. "You guys suck at being overwhelmed—"
"Penelope."
Penny pursed her lips and cleared her throat, hearing her father’s warning tone. She leaned back while everyone else refocused.
Slowly, all attention shifted to Zoren once more.
"Now with the question," Atlas started again. "Dean has a point—from all this, to me, it sounds like Naylani Pierson is the good guy from the beginning. Where did the character’s development turn to descent?"
"Also, how did she and Enzo Pierson get tangled?" he added. "I’m not interested in the love story, so I’d appreciate it if you refrain from those details."
Zoren cleared his throat, leaning forward as he rested his arms on his legs. His expression grew even more stern, scanning everyone’s faces.
"Long story short, Naylani needed Enzo Pierson... to find the coordinates."
