PAMPERED BY MY THREE BROTHERS: THE RETURN OF THE NEGLECTED HEIRESS
Chapter 1628: Are you… going to take care of her?

Chapter 1628: Are you... going to take care of her?

The story... was chaotic at best.

It was something Penny didn’t expect to hear. At least, not tonight.

To make things short, Patricia couldn’t sleep at night as she tossed and turned in her bed, still staring at the portrait on her phone. No matter how Patricia denied it, she was truly obsessing over it. However, just when Patricia decided not to dwell on it, she reached for her glass of water, only to realize she had already emptied it.

Having a habit of sleeping with a sip of water and waking up with a sip, Patricia went down to refill it.

But then, while she was in the kitchen, she caught the same maid walking out through the window. Curious, Patricia watched the maid and found her actions suspicious. Thus, she had the grand idea of following the maid.

Whatever got into her head to think that was a great idea, no one knew. Even Patricia didn’t know. She just acted like ninety-nine percent of her existence.

And as Patricia went out to follow the newly hired maid, Theo just hopped in Hayley’s car.

Apparently, Hayley had stayed over for dinner at the Miller residence. Throughout the dinner, the two of them had been stealing glances and making flirtatious innuendos. When Theo walked her out—because Patricia was being the reluctant cupid—they just agreed to meet tonight.

Obviously, there were other plans because Hayley decided to pick up Theo instead of him picking her up. As if she wanted him not to have a vehicle to go home, so he could probably stay over at her place, or they could spend the night somewhere else.

But instead of going on their date, they saw Patricia leaving in the dead of the night.

It confused and intrigued them. And before they knew it, instead of playing under the sheets and finding out if their attraction was more than just physical, they found themselves following Patricia and witnessing how Patricia and the maid clashed.

Since Patricia was not physically trained, throwing her to the ground was easy for someone who had trained to fight. So, Theo stepped into the alley where the chaos had turned, and he ended up getting beaten as well. Hayley just stood there in horror.

But before they all knew it, Patricia, who was tossed against the wall like a doll, reached out for anything. Like she said, she didn’t think twice or have second thoughts, considering her brother was being strangled to death with the maid’s arm around his neck, her body on his back.

The thing was, instead of leaving the maid, they ended up carrying her with them and locking her in the bathroom of Hayley’s home.

Hayley’s home.

The very place where they were right now.

Penny sat on the couch, eyeing the other three, who were all squeezed onto the other couch.

"So, you chose this place because... there were too many people at the Miller residence?" she asked. The three of them exchanged glances before nodding at her. "Wow."

This sounded like coincidence after coincidence after coincidence.

And to be honest? Penny was in awe.

"Is she dead?" Hayley asked because she didn’t dare check earlier. "Are we going to be in trouble?"

"She’s alive."

Suddenly, a voice came from behind them.

The three instinctively looked back, eyes landing on Angel. He was walking out of the bathroom, taking off his rubber gloves.

"She just lost consciousness—anyone would if they were hit like that," Angel stressed, his eyes landing on Patricia. This was surely a character development for her, but no one knew if that was a good thing or if she had become more corrupted.

"Thank God..." Hayley patted her chest, then froze again. "Wait. If she’s alive... does that mean she can charge us with attempted murder and kidnapping?"

Her face paled again as dread crept back into her heart. Her eyes slowly dilated, looking at the Miller siblings, then at Penny.

"By the way you’re looking at me, I can’t help but think you’re suggesting she’s better off dead," Penny remarked, only to hear Hayley blurt out,

"Dead men tell no tales. Miss Penny, I have a career that I’m working on, a love commitment I’m about to start after being your brother’s fan for ages, and a dream of the future," Hayley expressed dramatically. "I can’t go to prison."

The Miller siblings gazed at her with conflicted emotions. Mostly, pity. After all, it was them who dragged Hayley into this.

Seeing Patricia and Theo’s reaction, Penny sighed helplessly.

"No one’s going to prison. If there was, that would be that woman," she remarked, flicking her finger as she cast Angel a look. "Take that woman with us and ask someone to clean the place."

She then snapped her eyes back to the three. "For now, you three... either go home, or spend the night in a hotel. This place needs thorough cleaning."

"Penny, what are you going to do with her?" Theo perked up because right now, this sounded like a cover for a crime. "Are you... going to take care of her?"

Penny blinked. "Not that kind of take care, Theo."

"Oh." Theo patted his chest. His injury had already been tended to by one of Penny’s men. Surprisingly, they knew what to do with minor injuries. "For a second, I thought you were going to put her in a drum and pour cement on her."

"..." Penny looked at the three, who were clearly not in their right state of mind. It was clear by how quickly their emotions and thoughts shifted from one to another.

Not that she could blame them. It was normal.

But then, Penny shifted her eyes to where Patricia was. The latter had been silent—surprisingly silent.

Penny pressed her lips into a thin line but chose not to put Patricia in the spotlight for now.

"Patricia, Hayley, take a day or two off. It’s better if the three of you stay at a hotel," Penny pushed herself up, gazing down at the three. "Theo, don’t worry about going to the company for now. I’ll send a word to my dad that I’ll need you for something else."

"There’s another car waiting for the three of you. Go in there, and they’ll take you to a nice place to stay for the night," she continued. "I’ll see you all tomorrow."

With that, she turned. But before she could fully leave, she glanced in Angel’s direction.

"Don’t forget her car and the alley, they told us."

Angel lowered his head. "Yes."

Then, Penny left.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Anteca...

Jonathan dragged his feet down the stairs, stretching his neck from one side to the other. But as soon as he reached the floor and took a few steps toward the back door for a smoke, he paused.

From the corner of his eye, he saw a figure seated on one of the couches. Slowly, he turned his head. The first floor was dim, with only a few dim lights on. However, he could clearly see the person seated on the couch.

Zoren.
