Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Bumping into
An Yin snapped back to reality and gradually put away the wistfulness on her face. She was puzzled—why was she curious about a strange house?
That’s really odd!
"Here you go, young lady." The shop owner reminded the dazed girl.
"Mm." An Yin took the bag handed over by the owner and whispered, "Thank you."
As she left the shop, a wave of hunger hit her.
An Yin then remembered that she hadn’t had dinner before coming here.
Luckily, the alley was filled with the aroma of delicious food. An Yin carefully held the bag, afraid it might get accidentally bumped and damaged; the porcelain was fragile!
As An Yin was pondering what to eat, she smelled a particularly pungent aroma. Looking up, she saw a vendor stand two meters away, with a few people lined up.....
An Yin looked at the fabric signboard.
Liu Lao’s Stinky Tofu.
Seeing those words, An Yin’s mouth watered, and without thinking, she stepped forward, lining up at the end.
The full moon hung high in the night sky, and although she was in a deep alley, she could still see the bright moon when she looked up.
The vivid neon lights of nearby shops flickered, adding a touch of brilliance to the night.
Ten minutes later, the owner’s enthusiastic greeting came through.
"Young lady, how much stinky tofu would you like?" The owner wore a mask, with a slightly hunched back.
"Twenty yuan worth," An Yin replied.
"Alright, are you eating here or packing it to go?" the owner continued to ask.
An Yin looked behind the owner and saw a few low tables already occupied by a few people enjoying their meals, "Eating here."
"Okay, find a place to sit, I’ll bring it over soon," the owner, busy frying stinky tofu, didn’t forget to keep chatting with customers.
Following his suggestion, An Yin walked to a corner and found an empty table to sit down at.
The night was still a bit chilly; her jacket was a bit thin. Gently placing the bag down, An Yin sat quietly.
"Young lady, your stinky tofu is here." The owner placed a disposable bowl and chopsticks in front of her.
"Thank you!"
"What a pretty young lady!" the owner teased.
An Yin blushed with embarrassment, unsure how to respond, so she lowered her head and quietly ate the stinky tofu.
The owner, sensing her shyness, wisely returned to his stand to continue working.
After eating, An Yin’s face was flushed red from the spiciness. Continuously gulping down saliva, she paid for her meal and bought a cup of milk tea, which made her feel better!
When she walked out of "Jianjia Alley" and reached the roadside intending to hail a cab, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a familiar back. But An Yin didn’t pay much attention, dismissing it as her imagination.
When she saw the woman being held by the man, she was even more convinced that she didn’t know them.
After all, the woman in the man’s arms wasn’t Jiang Keke, so that familiar back definitely wasn’t Bao Cheng!
An Yin hailed a cab and stood by the roadside, holding her bag.
Glancing at her phone, which indicated the cab was about to arrive, An Yin stretched her neck to observe the cars passing by, carefully checking the license plates.
It was quite a coincidence.
In that instant, she actually saw Bao Cheng.
Across the street, he was holding a woman while gentlemanly opening the car door for her. He was saying something unknown, causing the woman to laugh gleefully and occasionally pat his chest.
It was easy to see they were quite close!
"Beep beep..."
A honking sound disrupted An Yin’s gaze.
When she came back to her senses, she remembered she’d hailed a cab, and realizing the car parked at the curb was hers, she opened the back door and got in.
Not far away, Bao Cheng also got into his car.
After getting in, An Yin was deeply unsettled.
Her mind kept wrestling with the question, "What exactly is Bao Cheng’s relationship with that woman?"
Back in the dormitory, she still couldn’t figure it out!
But she knew that she couldn’t alert Keke before things were clarified.
Keke and Bao Cheng had just had a fight, and she couldn’t add to the chaos!
Perhaps, when attending Bao Shaojin’s birthday party, she could ask Bao Cheng?
For now, there was no other way.
In the following days, facing Jiang Keke, An Yin was unusually nervous, clearly looking troubled, but Jiang Keke didn’t think much of it, assuming her best friend was acting strangely just for the birthday party.
So she confidently assured, "Yinyin, don’t worry, I already spoke to Acheng. He’ll definitely protect you at the party."
"I..." An Yin originally wanted to explain that she wasn’t worried about that. However, when facing her friend’s bright eyes, she could only swallow her doubts back, "Alright."
Hearing her response, Jiang Keke sighed with relief, unable to resist feeling smug inside: I knew Yinyin was timid, guess I was right!

The more you try to avoid someone, the harder it is to escape them!
Friday finally arrived, marking Bao Shaojin’s birthday.
An Yin had told Shi Qing in advance, asking her to arrange a leave for her. Even after Shi Qing agreed, An Yin still felt uneasy. This part-time job was new to her, so what if Sister Mei didn’t agree at that time and fired her?
She had already put on a worried face before even attending the party.
This mood continued until after class.
An Yin and Jiang Keke walked out of the classroom together.
Jiang Keke grabbed her hand, speaking urgently, "Hurry up, Acheng is waiting at the school gate."
"You’re the one eager to see him," An Yin looked down at her.
Jiang Keke was taken aback, her face unusually red, "Annoying, you said it knowing full well."
In the past, An Yin never teased Jiang Keke and Bao Cheng about their relationship, which was plain for everyone to see.
Since that time at "Jianjia Alley," when she encountered Bao Cheng laughing with another woman, An Yin held suspicions towards Bao Cheng.
Suspecting he was secretly doing something to hurt Keke!
But right now, everything was just her speculation, tonight, she must find out, otherwise, the frustration inside her would be unbearable!
At the school gate.
A stretch Lincoln business car was parked by the roadside.
Jiang Keke glanced at it without much expectation until the car window slowly rolled down, revealing a familiar face, she reacted with joy, grabbing An Yin, "I wondered why I couldn’t find him, he switched cars again." Speaking, she couldn’t hide the smile on her face.
As they approached the car, a tall man in the front seat got out expressionlessly and opened the rear door, "Miss, please!"
An Yin and Jiang Keke were stunned.
Jiang Keke, unaccustomed to such treatment, stared intently at Bao Cheng inside the car.
"Ahem..." Bao Cheng gave Jiang Keke a wink, then looked at An Yin, "Come on, cousin sent a driver to pick us up, we shouldn’t waste his goodwill."
An Yin, "..."
Jiang Keke, "..." So, she’s supposed to take a cab back to the apartment herself!
