Chapter 232 Don’t Mind
Chapter 232: Chapter 232 Don’t Mind
Jiang Keke wasn’t foolish; she always felt there was something unnatural in Bao Cheng’s words. Yet now was not the time for overthinking, so she offered him a friendly smile, "Have a seat!"
"Thank you!" Zeng Yun walked past Bao Cheng directly, giving Jiang Keke a meaningful look, and responded politely.
Jiang Keke and An Yin were sitting in a row, and at that moment, the only seat left was next to Bao Cheng.
Zeng Yun sat down very naturally.
An Yin remained silent, her eyes secretly glancing at the woman across the table.
It was her... Bao Cheng’s affair partner!
"Meeting is fate; hello, I’m Zeng Yun!" Zeng Yun greeted the two young women across from her, exuding charm in every gesture.
"Hello, Jiang Keke, we met last time." Jiang Keke replied, ignoring the strange feeling in her heart.
An Yin sat quietly and did not speak.
Noticing this, Jiang Keke spoke up for her friend, "She’s my friend, An Yin. She’s quite introverted, so please don’t mind!"
"Your friend is really beautiful!" Zeng Yun looked at the exceptionally beautiful young woman before her, feeling a sense of awe that such beauty existed in the world.
Zeng Yun felt a wisp of relief. If her rival was this An Yin, she would surely stand no chance.
An Yin was unmoved by Zeng Yun’s compliment.
Jiang Keke noticed An Yin’s tightly pressed lips, thinking she was just shy and didn’t enjoy speaking to strangers. Yet inwardly, she pondered: Yinyin usually wasn’t this impolite, what was going on today?
Everyone was sitting together, so Jiang Keke found it inappropriate to openly ask An Yin.
"We’ve already ordered; see if there’s anything else you’d like to eat." As Jiang Keke finished speaking, the attendant immediately handed the menu to Zeng Yun.
"It’s not necessary." Zeng Yun slightly smiled, a captivating smile spreading from her lips, "My tastes are similar to Ah Cheng’s, so I’ll just eat whatever he ordered."
Her words, though polite, carried a hint of intimacy when listened to closely.
Since her arrival, Bao Cheng had been sitting upright in his chair, speaking less than usual, and his serious expression made it impossible to discern what he was thinking.
"Alright then." Jiang Keke raised an eyebrow, her unease gradually expanding.
The attendant retrieved the menu and left.
An Yin felt extremely uneasy, unable to describe her mood. She couldn’t help but glance at Bao Cheng, just as his gaze turned her way.
In the next second, he looked away guiltily.
An Yin averted her eyes, and before eating, she felt a wave of nausea rising from her stomach, prompting her to pat her chest gently.
"Yinyin, what’s wrong?" Jiang Keke noticed An Yin’s movement and began to worry.
"It’s nothing." An Yin weakly replied, looking at her, "I’ll just go to the restroom."
"Go ahead." Jiang Keke understood that her period had come.
An Yin stood up, walked through the hall, and found the restroom following the wall signs.
At the sink, she cupped the cold water in her hands, washing her face. The icy sting made her feel especially awake.
She had never seen such a melodramatic scene and had no idea how to face those people.
An Yin couldn’t remain as calm as Bao Cheng; her face wasn’t as thick.
Time passed bit by bit, and An Yin knew that hiding couldn’t solve the problem.
She took out her phone from her pocket, opened WeChat, and tapped into the chat with Jiang Keke.
Previously knowing about Bao Cheng’s infidelity but not telling Jiang Keke immediately made An Yin feel guilty, so it seemed understandable when Jiang Keke was upset with her after learning the truth.
Now, being sure that Bao Cheng’s affair partner was this woman named Zeng Yun, could she continue hiding it from Jiang Keke?
The woman surely knew Jiang Keke was Bao Cheng’s girlfriend, yet dared to provoke them by sitting at the same table? Clearly, she didn’t regard Jiang Keke at all.
An Yin didn’t want her good friend to suffer so meekly in this relationship.
After weighing it over and over, An Yin finally composed a message.
An Yin: [Keke, Zeng Yun is Bao Cheng’s affair partner!]
After sending it, she felt a burden lift from her shoulders.
Regardless of what decision Jiang Keke made next, An Yin would unconditionally stand by her side. After mustering her courage, An Yin wiped her face dry and headed back to the hall.
From afar, she could see the table where Jiang Keke was sitting.
Zeng Yun, next to Bao Cheng, was covering her mouth, letting out coquettish laughs occasionally.
Approaching, An Yin saw that Jiang Keke was engrossed in conversation with Zeng Yun, both laughing as if they were old friends who hadn’t seen each other in ages.
An Yin blankly returned to her seat, observing the table filled with dishes, and saw nobody had started eating yet.
"We’ve been waiting for you, let’s start eating." Jiang Keke’s sparkling eyes shone like stars.
"I’m hungry too!" Zeng Yun picked up her chopsticks, winking at Jiang Keke.
Jiang Keke returned the smile.
An Yin, unsure what they had discussed while she was gone, felt the atmosphere between them had become harmonious. An Yin lowered her eyes, thinking Jiang Keke probably hadn’t checked her WeChat yet.
"Yinyin, why are you still dazed? This food won’t be good when it gets cold." Jiang Keke turned to An Yin, reminding her.
"Got it." An Yin muttered.
She ate the rice in her bowl without saying a word.
Zeng Yun across the table noticed An Yin’s expression, "Is she not eating any of the dishes?" She could sense this girl named An Yin didn’t like her, even looked at her with a hint of... disdain! They hadn’t even met before, had they? So why was this girl acting like she disliked her?
Besides, shouldn’t Jiang Keke be the one who dislikes me?
Jiang Keke didn’t know what Zeng Yun was thinking, so when she was asked, she replied for An Yin, "She’s not fond of dining with strangers."
Jiang Keke categorizing Zeng Yun as a stranger wasn’t wrong! After all, they weren’t acquainted before this.
Zeng Yun showed no sign of embarrassment on her well-made-up face, still showcasing her beauty with flowing black wavy hair cascading like a waterfall over her shoulders, accentuating her ethereal charm and mature allure.
Bao Cheng sat fidgeting, looking at the dishes on the table. He picked up a shrimp, his usual favorite, but it only tasted like wax, leaving him with no appetite.
After a few bites, he lost all appetite, put down his chopsticks, wishing everyone would just finish eating so they could all go home.
"Finished already?" Zeng Yun’s sultry eyes held an unmistakable concern.
"I had a big breakfast," Bao Cheng replied dismissively, avoiding her gaze.
"Then I won’t eat either." Zeng Yun put down her chopsticks, acting petulantly.
Her tone was almost coquettish, treating the two people across as if they didn’t exist.
