Chapter 230: Chapter 230 Changed
An Yin jogged all the way back to "Night Charm."
Upon stepping through the door, the warmth swept over her entire body. She stood at the entrance for a while to dispel the chill from her body.
Before she could head to her post, she saw Shi Qing walking towards her from the opposite direction.
"Let’s go to the changing room," Shi Qing said casually after giving An Yin a once-over.
"Oh." An Yin obediently followed behind Shi Qing.
In the changing room, Shi Qing didn’t change clothes immediately. She blocked An Yin’s path and asked nonchalantly, "What did that man talk to you about outside?"
Shi Qing had only seen the blurry images from the surveillance video, like how that man thoughtfully draped his coat over An Yin’s shoulders!
There’s no such thing as kindness without a reason in this world!
An Yin was pure and kind-hearted; Shi Qing didn’t want her to be deceived.
Seeing how tense Shi Qing looked, An Yin felt a warm feeling in her heart, "Don’t worry, he didn’t bully me."
Shi Qing’s heart was a bit blocked; An Yin’s words made it seem like she cared a lot about her.
Shi Qing turned her face away, speaking unkindly, "It’s good to be cautious."
"Hmm." An Yin nodded earnestly, then walked past Shi Qing towards the changing room.
After changing clothes, they left through the back door. Luckily, there were streetlights everywhere, so it didn’t feel scary.
The two of them hailed a cab. Once in, Shi Qing turned her head towards the car window, watching the scenery flash by.
The next morning.
Early in the morning, An Yin was woken up by the sound of rustling.
She lifted the blanket, stretched lazily, and then covered her mouth to stifle a yawn. When she opened her sleepy eyes, she saw a figure she couldn’t be more familiar with.
An Yin thought she was dreaming. She sat up, closed her eyes again, and when she reopened them, the person was still there.
"You’re not dreaming, it’s me!" Jiang Keke said with a smile, standing half a meter from An Yin’s bed, watching An Yin’s silly reaction with great interest.
"You... you’re moving back into the dorm?" An Yin looked at the luggage beside Jiang Keke, disbelief written all over her face.
An Yin had thought that when she mentioned moving back to the dorm before, it was just something said casually.
"Yeah." Jiang Keke went to her wardrobe and began taking out things from her suitcase, putting them away one by one.
An Yin turned her head slightly and could see that most of the suitcase was filled with makeup and skincare products, with the rest being clothes and such. As she looked away and opened her mouth to speak, her gaze froze, staring straight at an alarming stain of blood on the sheet.
She sighed in despair, "Keke, I messed up the bed again." It was clear from An Yin’s comment that this kind of thing happened often.
Hearing this, Jiang Keke paused for a moment, as it had been a while since they were together, the tacit understanding between them had become somewhat unfamiliar to Jiang Keke.
Jiang Keke turned her head to see An Yin with a distressed face, also staring straight at the sheet. It was then Jiang Keke understood what she meant.
"Get up quickly, take a shower and change your dirty clothes," Jiang Keke suggested.
"I guess that’s all I can do."
An Yin got up, and spent the whole morning busily washing the dirty clothes and sheets until everything was finally clean.
Her body was already uncomfortable, and because she hadn’t had breakfast, the pain from her stomach combined with hunger made her look listless and lifeless.
After Jiang Keke finished organizing her luggage, she sat by the desk with her phone, video chatting with Bao Cheng. They were engrossed in their conversation, and even from the bathroom, An Yin could hear Jiang Keke’s heartfelt laughter.
"Gurgle..."
"Gurgle..."
After finishing her chores, An Yin just wanted to sit on her bed and rest for a moment, but her stomach wouldn’t stop grumbling. An Yin lifted her eyes and looked in Jiang Keke’s direction.
She saw Jiang Keke with Bluetooth headphones on, half-lying on the desk, occasionally uttering, "You’re annoying..."
"Humph, you better keep your word!"
An Yin lowered her eyes, propping one hand on the sheet, feeling a warmth surge inside. Thankfully, Ms. An always prepared an extra set of sheets for her to use.
"Gurgle..."
Her stomach kept growling incessantly.
An Yin looked over at Jiang Keke with a pained expression, waiting to ask about lunch once Jiang Keke finished her call.
She glanced at her phone; it was already time for lunch.
An Yin sat alone on the bed, thinking that Jiang Keke’s call might last a while, so she leaned against the headboard and continued to wait.
Half-asleep in no time, she soon fell soundly asleep.
After a while, An Yin felt her body being shaken.
Opening her eyes, she saw Jiang Keke patting her wrist, "Are you a pig? Get up, it’s already past lunchtime."
An Yin heard Jiang Keke’s urging voice, rubbed her eyes with a hand devoid of energy, and with her voice slightly hoarse, murmured, "Hmm." She felt like her hunger had made her stomach practically touch her back.
She put on an ultra-warm down coat and found a scarf to wrap herself up tightly before looking at Jiang Keke, "Let’s go."
Jiang Keke looked at her slightly bulky appearance and said haltingly, "With that outfit, you have the potential to be a national treasure."
Both equally adorable and chunky!
"Comfort is what counts." An Yin didn’t care about others’ opinions.
With that, the two of them linked their arms and headed out of the dormitory together.
However, their outfits were quite a stark contrast.
Jiang Keke wore long boots that covered her slender, straight legs, a light Chanel-style jacket on top, and a short pleated skirt below, her fine figure leaving nothing to the imagination. As she walked through the crowd, quite a few boys turned to look at her closely.
The two walked down the asphalt road, and to the left was the path leading to the cafeteria. As An Yin was about to turn, she found Jiang Keke pulling her hand towards the direction outside of campus.
"Keke, let’s go eat first." An Yin thought Jiang Keke wanted to shop outside and couldn’t help but remind her.
"We’re going to eat." Jiang Keke turned her head to meet An Yin’s confused gaze and explained, "I can’t stand cafeteria food; let’s eat out instead."
With that, Jiang Keke held onto An Yin’s hand firmly and walked forward.
Upon hearing Jiang Keke’s words, a complicated emotion crossed An Yin’s face. She hesitated to express what was in her heart, but upon seeing Jiang Keke already taking out her phone to answer a call, An Yin lowered her head.
Hadn’t Jiang Keke always eaten well in the cafeteria before? Not only that, but she used to constantly praise T University’s chicken legs to the skies.
Those past words were like the cold winter wind to the current Jiang Keke — blowing away without leaving a trace.
While Jiang Keke was on the phone, she unknowingly let go of An Yin’s hand.
An Yin was a step behind, yet still closely followed.
An Yin realized that the Jiang Keke before her was becoming unrecognizable.
