Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Fierce
He could be sure that he had no improper thoughts about the young girl, but in his heart, there was an inexplicable surge of excitement and longing!
Meng Heming looked up at the blue sky, a touch of melancholy crossing his heart. Perhaps the girl’s figure somewhat resembled someone from his memory. That person also seemed so fragile, and with her charming smile, always aroused the deepest affection in his heart!
Inside the hospital room.
Bao Shaojin walked in, carrying An Yin, and his cold eyes immediately looked towards the caretaker in the corner.
"Next time, don’t let her go out alone." He emphasized coldly.
The caretaker, trembling with fear, stood up, "Okay, Mr. Bao!"
An Yin, belatedly realizing she was being carried, could not bother with propriety between men and women and immediately defended the caretaker.
"It’s not her fault; I wanted to go out for some fresh air." An Yin hurriedly spoke up for the other party, one hand naturally resting on Bao Shaojin’s shoulder.
Beside the bed, Bao Shaojin held her light body and didn’t put her down immediately. Seeing her anxious appearance and feeling the softness in his hand, his face grew increasingly somber.
Their gazes met.
When An Yin realized the closeness between them, she quickly lowered her head, her cheeks turning as red as a tender apple, making one want to take a bite.
The caretaker in the corner was moved by Miss An speaking for her and wanted to express gratitude, but when she saw Mr. Bao’s straightforward gaze at Miss An, as if he would swallow her whole the next second!
She could only turn sideways, slowly moving her footsteps towards the nearby refreshment room, not wanting to get involved!
"Put me down!" An Yin, seeing the man holding her without a word, shyly urged.
His soft black hair hung over Bao Shaojin’s forehead, hiding his deep eyes. The next moment, he calmly put her down.
After An Yin lay down, she quickly pulled the blanket over herself, shielding her inner panic. At this moment, she couldn’t care about her wildly beating heart; her mind kept replaying the scene of the man holding her.
"Does your eye still hurt?" Bao Shaojin saw her bury herself in the blanket, only revealing her face above the nose, making her lively eyes extra captivating.
However, seeing the redness in her eyes, the chill emanating from him was intimidating.
Even An Yin felt a sense of oppression.
"It’s much better!" An Yin’s lips parted slightly, uttering a few words.
"What do you want to eat? I’ll have Assistant Lin buy it." Seeing her lying feebly, Bao Shaojin’s tone softened.
"No need, the food here is quite good, I eat my fill every meal." Talking about food, An Yin couldn’t help swallowing inside the blanket.
She’s been a foodie since childhood, having no resistance to delicious food. Even though the man just mentioned it, her mind was already brimming with ideas of what she wanted to eat. However, she didn’t want to tell him, for if she asked him to buy something, she’d owe him a favor, and An Yin really didn’t want that!
At that moment, the hospital room door was pushed open as Assistant Lin came to Bao Shaojin’s side.
"Mr. Bao, that guy came over again."
Assistant Lin intentionally lowered his voice, but An Yin still heard it clearly.
Just as she pondered what Assistant Lin’s words meant, she heard a cold voice coming from Bao Shaojin’s mouth.
"Make him leave."
When saying this, Assistant Lin could feel the hostility emanating from him. He nodded immediately, "Okay."
Just as Assistant Lin was about to turn and leave, An Yin poked her head out, calling, "Assistant Lin, who’s here?"
Assistant Lin turned his head to look at An Yin on the bed, then glanced at Bao Shaojin with a troubled expression, seeking his opinion.
Bao Shaojin walked to the bedside, looking at the young girl with curious eyes, his face slightly cold, "What, are you expecting someone to visit you?"
An Yin was left speechless by his question, her voice weakly replying, "I was just asking, why are you being so fierce!"
Perhaps her playful tone amused him, so Bao Shaojin didn’t hold back, his tone indifferent, "The person who hurt you wants to visit."
An Yin was stunned, then raised her head to look at the man, complaining, "Then why isn’t he coming in?"
"Blocked outside."
When Bao Shaojin said this, he didn’t even lift an eyelid, as if such matters were trivial in his eyes.
"How can you do that?" An Yin retorted.
Bao Shaojin’s fair skin and those clear eyes stared back at her. From her expression, it wasn’t hard to see a tinge of anger; she looked like an angry little cat, lacking any threat but instead giving an adorable, charming visual impact.
"Do you want to see him?" Bao Shaojin’s dark eyes stared at her.
The man’s eyes, like an eagle soaring in the sky, brought a sense of crisis when gazing at him. An Yin lowered her eyes, planning to reason with him, "I just think stopping someone from visiting is too overbearing."
Finished speaking, she wished she could bury her head under the covers.
An Yin knew the man had a bad temper, and speaking these words took great risks. She even prepared for the possibility of being beaten by him.
The atmosphere in the air seemed to freeze. At this moment, even a pin dropping might be heard by everyone.
Assistant Lin, standing further back, didn’t dare to breathe, and in his heart, he was full of admiration for Miss An. Perhaps the only person in the world who could make Mr. Bao back down was Miss An!
Moreover, the number of people who could directly point out Mr. Bao’s mistakes was sparse! Yet Miss An did it. Henceforth, he must honor Miss An as someone venerable!
Bao Shaojin squinted at the young girl, seeing her head hanging low, her fearful and insecure demeanor. Did she think she had grown braver? To dare rebut his words.
However, upon seeing her timid look, the coldness on his face gradually disappeared.
"Assistant Lin, bring him in." Bao Shaojin spoke.
Assistant Lin barely had time to be surprised, his steps already heading toward the door.
Hearing Bao Shaojin’s words, An Yin looked up incredulously, never expecting the man to change so quickly, hard to adjust. But since he had already compromised, An Yin quietly said, "Actually, besides being a bit domineering, you’re quite nice!"
She quickly closed her mouth after speaking.
Goodness, what did she just say?
Is this supposed to be a compliment?
An Yin felt agonizingly embarrassed.
Her attractive face showed a troubled expression, while Bao Shaojin’s deep eyes watched her coldly. Even though her words weren’t exactly pleasing, her last few words touched his heart, warming his previously cold demeanor.
For the first time, someone told him, to his face, that he’s quite nice!
Ha, interesting!
