Chapter 215: Chapter 215 Going to Handle Business
"On what grounds?" Shen Jingrou retorted angrily.
Lin Yue stared straight ahead, "Shen Jingrou, don’t test my patience!"
The seemingly calm words sent a chill down one’s spine.
Lin Yue usually appeared carefree and aimless, but once he got agitated, he could do anything.
Suppressing her grievances, Shen Jingrou didn’t want to stay with him any longer. When she tried to open the car door, she found it locked, "Open the door, I want to get out."
Lin Yue remained unmoved.
"Hurry up, I want to get out." Shen Jingrou urged.
"Being with me makes you this annoyed?" Lin Yue held the steering wheel a bit tighter and turned to look sharply at the woman just inches away.
His words felt awkward, as if she was about to abandon him, and this thought startled Shen Jingrou. She retorted angrily, "Have you finished going insane? I really want to get out."
"Insane?" Lin Yue snorted softly, then smirked, "Then I’ll show you what going insane really means."
Before his words faded, the car shook violently and sped off like a drawn sword.
"Lin, Lin Yue..."
The car sped up dramatically. After shouting, Shen Jingrou turned her head to glance at the man’s stern face. She wanted to scold him but feared provoking him further. Watching the car race on, Shen Jingrou could only grip the handle tightly to prevent any accidents.
Lin Yue seemed to be wrestling with something, pushing the gas pedal to the floor. When Shen Jingrou secretly opened her eyes to glance outside the window, she realized they were driving on the highway.
Lin Yue was impulsive, and Shen Jingrou could only wait for him to calm down.
Dusk was falling.
Shen Jingrou’s phone rang. At this time, she didn’t need to think twice to know who it was.
Upon answering, she said softly, "Baby!"
"Mom, where are you?" A soft, sweet voice queried from the other end.
"Outside." Shen Jingrou replied perfunctorily before trying to change the topic, "Have you had dinner?"
"Mom, I had two bowls of rice tonight," the little one announced proudly.
"Such a good kid." Shen Jingrou’s smile deepened.
Sometime later, the car’s speed decreased.
Lin Yue’s once dark eyes now appeared brighter. Listening to the woman’s tender voice and her warm interaction with the little one, each word seemed to soften Lin Yue’s heart.
He kept his eyes on the straight road, wishing...
Wishing they could just go on like this! With no conflicts between them, no societal scrutiny...

These days, An Ying had been feeling restless.
Ever since she stopped running that bookstore, she had been lounging at home. Once a person becomes too comfortable, they tend to overthink.
The money she retrieved from City H last time still left An Ying feeling uneasy.
An Ying thought she should find a job to distract herself. Besides, her daughter would need money for college. Although she had some savings, it was only enough for her and her daughter’s usual expenses.
She wouldn’t touch the money in that bank card unless it was absolutely necessary!
Leaving home in the morning, An Ying headed to the nearby mall. This area was filled with newly built high-rises, with many shops posting job openings.
An Ying walked around, noticing that most places wanted to hire young girls, and she didn’t fit the age requirement.
Feeling disheartened, she looked at the job postings in the window, her disappointment evident in her eyes.
Not far away, a tall man, surrounded by others, was inspecting the area quickly.
The manager beside him spoke respectfully, "Mr. Su, your wife was quite pleased with her last visit."
"Hmm, the mall is still in its early stages, so you all must stay vigilant on all fronts," Su Jianteng said with a stern expression.
The manager nodded repeatedly upon hearing this.
Su Jianteng, aged forty or fifty, had thick, neat eyebrows and sparkling eyes, exuding vitality, looking more like a spirited youth than a middle-aged man.
As the group moved, the leading man seemed to notice something, his eyes lit up, and he stopped with a slight astonishment while looking at a woman not far away.
The woman wore a knee-length white down jacket, her long hair pinned with a clip, giving her a sleek, gentle look with a unique classical beauty.
From his view, he could only see her flawless profile. Though he hadn’t fully glimpsed her features, his seasoned eyes judged that her appearance was far from ordinary.
The perceptive manager noticed Mr. Su’s gaze fixed on the woman and had a sudden inspiration, "Mr. Su, that lady seems to be job hunting. I happen to have some open positions. Shall I have someone talk to her?" The manager, speaking cautiously, glanced at Su’s face for a response.
This move was, for the manager, akin to a gamble of significant risk...
After the manager spoke, the surrounding group awaited Su’s response with bated breath.
"Go ahead!" Su Jianteng looked at the woman with a touch of curiosity.
Just as he wanted to continue observing her, his phone rang. Seeing the name on the screen, he promptly hung up and walked forward with a displeased expression.
The manager, seeing this, gave a signal to a subordinate behind him, who quickly got the message.
An Ying exhaled deeply after scanning the job postings once more.
Her spirits crushed, she hadn’t noticed the commotion around her. When she turned around, she saw a woman in a work uniform.
"Miss, are you looking for a job?" The woman, responsible for recruitment at the mall, had come over following an urgent notice and, guided by staff, reached An Ying.
"Hello!" An Ying eyed the other warily, certain she didn’t know her.
"I happened to see you looking at the mall’s job postings and thought, just as well, we have some vacancies. If you’re interested, you can give it a try," the woman explained calmly, with a perfectly pleasant smile.
Seeing the other still hesitant, the woman continued reassuringly, "Didn’t you notice the recruitment ad in the central hall when you entered the mall?"
Hearing this, An Ying nodded, because she had indeed seen it.
"Let me take you to check it out? In broad daylight and with so many people around, there’s no chance of tricking you, so don’t worry!" The woman noted the distrust in An Ying’s gaze and switched to patient persuasion.
"You can take a look, and if you’re not interested, we won’t insist." The woman gently coaxed.
Seeing many passersby looking their way and considering the woman’s sincere attitude, An Ying finally agreed.
