Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Breakdown

Taking the elevator, I arrived at the department where Jiang Keke was located.

After making inquiries with the nurse, An Yin found out the bed where Jiang Keke was.

Walking through the long corridor, An Yin looked at the bed number displayed on the door and finally found it.

She pushed open the door, there were several beds inside, separated by curtains. When she reached the innermost side, she finally saw Jiang Keke.

An Yin was momentarily stunned.

Jiang Keke had one hand exposed outside the quilt, receiving intravenous fluid, staring blankly at the white ceiling, her pale face looking in poor condition, and her eyes dark as if she hadn’t slept all night. Jiang Keke’s appearance seemed to have suffered a severe blow, her hollow eyes showing no signs of life.

Even as simple as An Yin was, she faintly sensed that something bad had happened to Jiang Keke.

"Keke!" An Yin approached the bedside, speaking softly.

Jiang Keke didn’t blink, still staring straight ahead.

"Keke, what’s happened to you?" An Yin spoke with a sob in her voice, her face showing clear signs of worry.

"He really cheated!"

The silent Jiang Keke calmly uttered this sentence, slowly turned her head, and her gaze landed on An Yin.

Upon hearing Jiang Keke’s words, An Yin wasn’t shocked but pondered over the meaning behind them.

Really?

So, she probably also believes that Bao Cheng isn’t a devoted person! An Yin thought.

"They even have a baby now!" As she spoke, Jiang Keke’s hand clenched into a fist, and soon, the IV tube was stained with red blood.

"Keke, relax!" An Yin stepped forward and pried open Jiang Keke’s clenched hand. Seeing the IV return to normal, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"He actually had a baby with someone else behind my back." Tears once again slid down Jiang Keke’s cheeks.

Seeing her in such sorrow, An Yin felt troubled as well. "Keke, it’s not worth it to be sad over a scumbag." An Yin looked around for tissues but quickly pulled some from her pocket to wipe away Keke’s tears.

However, Jiang Keke’s tears fell like a string of pearls, one after another, quickly soaking the white pillow.

"Yinyin, if only I had just been after the material things he provided, without falling in love, maybe I wouldn’t be so sad!"

"I knew he was cheating, yet I didn’t dare confront him. Do you know why?" At this point, Jiang Keke gave a bitter smile, as if she had to vent, "During the time with him, I experienced a life completely different from before, and I don’t want to give up this pampered life."

That is the most tragic part! Bao Cheng is her heaven, but also her hell.

An Yin only felt a sharp ache in her throat, "Keke!" Her words left An Yin very upset. Could wealth and luxury really be that important?

The words An Yin wanted to comfort her with were stuck in her mouth.

While An Yin remained silent, Jiang Keke’s voice rang out again.

"No wonder he’s been so obliging to me lately, hmph..." Reflecting on past events, Jiang Keke now found them disgusting.

At this moment, Jiang Keke felt something was off. She turned her head, her cold eyes landing on An Yin, "When I mentioned Bao Cheng’s infidelity just now, you weren’t surprised at all, as if you knew all along."

Jiang Keke was only a bit suspicious until she saw An Yin lowering her head guiltily.

An Yin couldn’t hide anything, whatever she thought showed on her face, and she was now standing uneasily aside, her small mouth opening slightly, then closing, hesitating as if she wanted to say something.

Seeing An Yin’s demeanor, Jiang Keke’s heart instantly sank, and her whole body trembled uncontrollably, "You, you knew about Bao Cheng’s infidelity all along, didn’t you?"

Jiang Keke’s tone was slightly aggressive, perhaps due to anger, and she propped her weak body up, sitting at the bedside, her eyes like sharp swords directed at the opposite.

"Yes." An Yin didn’t want to lie, so she nodded.

"What else do you know?" Jiang Keke suppressed the anger in her heart and continued to ask.

"The woman is pregnant with a baby."

An Yin confessed.

"When did you find out about this?" The tears in Jiang Keke’s eyes had somehow stopped, and a shadow passed over her fresh face.

An Yin then told the incident of encountering Bao Cheng and the woman in the hospital completely. When she finished, she looked up into eyes filled with hatred.

An Yin’s heart suddenly tightened.

"An Yin, to think I treated you as my best friend all this time, yet you didn’t tell me about this." Jiang Keke called An Yin’s full name directly.

Jiang Keke’s gaze was icy, entirely devoid of warmth, as if they were enemies.

An Yin stood still, tears streaming urgently, "Keke, I’m sorry, I was afraid you would..."

"Leave, go, from now on we’re no longer friends..." Jiang Keke shouted with all her strength.

Her sharp voice quickly drew others’ attention, and soon, relatives of a patient nearby came over, with a tinge of displeasure in their voice, "Could you keep it down?"

Soon someone else chimed in.

Seeing this, Jiang Keke cast a disdainful look at them, "Mind your own business..."

"Hey, young lady, how can you be so impolite?" The uncle standing nearby immediately became agitated.

Jiang Keke wanted to say something, but An Yin hurriedly spoke up, "I’m sorry for disturbing you, sorry!"

The man’s gaze quickly fell on An Yin, seeing the girl’s sincere attitude and tear-streaked face, her stunning beauty brought a sudden amazement, and his anger dissipated quite a bit, though he still nagged, "Try to persuade your friend."

"Okay!"

After An Yin responded, the man left.

When An Yin turned around, Jiang Keke had already closed her eyes, turning her whole body away, clearly not wanting to see her. An Yin forced back the urge to cry, speaking softly, "Keke, don’t be angry. The reason I didn’t tell you at the time was that I was afraid you’d become overwhelmed and harm yourself."

"What makes you think I would lose control?" Jiang Keke’s tone carried a bit of resentment.

"Once, you asked me to find Bao Cheng, and I saw him at the hospital, then I brought up the cheating incident, and he begged me not to tell you, fearing you’d..." Before An Yin finished, she saw that the other party had turned around, those swollen eyes staring straight at her, and she didn’t say any more.

"So, I should thank you then!" Jiang Keke pulled a bitter smile, gazing at the pitifully beautiful An Yin in front of her, persistent in her demand, "An Yin, just leave. I don’t want to see you now."

An Yin stood dumbly in place, showing a look of bewilderment.
