Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Surname An
An Yin picked up her phone and saw an unfamiliar number.
She directly pressed "hang up."
This number often received calls selling products; she was already used to it.
After she hung up, the phone rang again.
An Yin paused for a moment, hesitantly answering the call, "Hello?"
"You are An Yin, right?" a female voice asked.
An Yin was puzzled. Listening to the voice, she realized she didn’t know the woman on the other end.
With a probing heart, she cautiously said, "May I ask who you are?" She neither admitted nor denied her identity.
When facing strangers, one should have a certain degree of caution!
"I’m Su Yifeng’s mother," the woman stated frankly.
An Yin was shocked, not understanding why Su Yifeng’s mother suddenly contacted her.
"Auntie, is there something you need from me?" An Yin propped herself up as she spoke.
"Do you have time today? I’m near T University, and I’d like to see you!" inviting An Yin out was Mrs. Su’s purpose. She wanted to see what the girl looked like who had bewitched her son, changing him from his usual clear demeanor.
An Yin wanted to say she didn’t have time, and suddenly going to meet Su Yifeng’s mother felt awkward.
After much consideration, An Yin hesitated, "I have something to do later, Auntie. Could you just tell me over the phone?" An Yin wasn’t good at rejecting people; after she said this, she held her breath, waiting for the other’s response.
"If that’s the case, I’ll come to the school to find you. Don’t worry, it won’t take up much of your time." Mrs. Su insisted on suggesting.
"Auntie, I’ll come out then!" An Yin sighed.
"I’m at the ’Meet Again’ dessert shop by the school entrance," Mrs. Su said.
"Okay."
After the call was disconnected, An Yin felt a bit dazed.
Su Yifeng’s mother could contact her, maybe because Su Yifeng gave her number to his mother! An Yin speculated.
The thought of meeting a stranger made An Yin very anxious.
After changing clothes, she picked up a bag and left the dormitory.
On the staircase, she ran into the Dormitory Aunt.
"Student An." The Dormitory Aunt greeted warmly.
An Yin smiled lightly, "Aunt Zhang!"
"Is Shi Qing in the dorm?" The Dormitory Aunt paused, looking at the remarkably beautiful girl in front of her, marveling at how stunningly beautiful she was.
"No." Realizing the other’s gaze was on her, An Yin blushed and quickly lowered her head.
"Oh." The Dormitory Aunt realized her behavior was too abrupt and laughed it off, "You go ahead if you have something to do."
"Okay."
An Yin passed by the Dormitory Aunt and exited the dormitory building.
T University had a large campus; walking from the dormitory to the school gate took some time.
The ’Meet Again’ dessert shop near the school was loved by young people, especially couples who liked to go there to chat and enjoy each other’s company.
When Mrs. Su mentioned the location, An Yin was familiar because once, during Jiang Keke’s birthday, they spent it at that dessert shop. To her, the prices were a bit high, and the taste was fine, nothing more!
Meet Again dessert shop.
Mrs. Su sat on the second floor by the window, from where she could clearly see the customers entering the dessert shop.
She wore a string of creamy white pearl necklace; each pearl looked perfectly round and shiny. Her attire was especially elegant, giving a vivid sense of dignity from afar.
Mrs. Su’s gaze fell outside the window, watching as couples walked hand in hand, oblivious to those around them, towards the shop.
Soon, she keenly noticed a young girl approaching the shop; from a distance, the girl wasn’t very clear until her figure got closer and she headed towards the dessert shop where Mrs. Su was. When the young girl’s face appeared, Mrs. Su’s face showed a hint of panic. She placed one hand on the table, her pupils wide open, as if shocked, and awkwardly looked around. She only relaxed when she saw the word "Restroom," hurrying inside as if fleeing.
The couples sitting nearby watched with curiosity; what had happened outside for the dignified lady to appear as though she had seen a ghost?
This thought flashed through their minds briefly before they returned to enjoying their food.
The odd moment of the lady losing her composure was quickly forgotten.
When An Yin arrived at the dessert shop, she glanced around on the first floor but did not see the lady.
The customers here were mostly students and couples.
She was about to head to the second floor when she took out her phone and redialed the number.
"Sorry, something came up and I left first!" Mrs. Su whispered on the other end of the call.
An Yin stopped in her tracks, looking blank, "Alright then!"
After the call ended, An Yin retraced her steps, leaving with a face full of confusion.
She couldn’t understand what Su Yifeng’s mother meant. Why was she eager to meet her at first, but left when she agreed?
Did the other person mean to mess with her?
An Yin didn’t think the other was so idle, but she couldn’t find a reasonable explanation.
Maybe something really came up unexpectedly!
An Yin didn’t want to think ill of the other person.
Soon, Mrs. Su came out of the restroom. She looked around with her head low, not finding the seemingly familiar figure, and hurried back to her seat by the window, looking downstairs.
Downstairs, the young girl was taking small steps towards the school.
From Mrs. Su’s angle, she could only see the girl’s slim back.
To verify her thoughts, Mrs. Su trembled as she picked up her phone and dialed the number again, meanwhile, her eyes fixedly watching the young girl.
On the pedestrian path downstairs, An Yin took her phone out of her bag. Seeing the number again, she felt bewildered, unable to guess what message Su Yifeng’s mother had for her.
After answering, she put the phone to her ear, "Hello, Auntie, is there anything else?"
On the dessert shop’s second floor, Mrs. Su stood by the window, watching intently as the girl below with the phone confirmed her suspicions. The girl was indeed An Yin!
"Nothing, I dialed the wrong number, sorry for bothering you!" Mrs. Su dully said before hanging up.
Seeing the name "An Yin" on her son’s phone didn’t seem significant at first, but now, muttering the name, Mrs. Su felt a chill in her heart, as though it was being chilled to the bone.
An Yin!
