Pampered by my Billionaire CEO Husband
Chapter 141: Rot in jail!

Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Rot in jail!

Within the next second, all hell broke loose and it was pure chaos.

The people who were once watching with anticipation were now wearing panicked and flustered expressions on their faces as they started to scream and ran away, afraid that they were going to be the next victim. People were running out of the office lobby and some rushed into the elevators trying to escape to the other floors.

By this time, the guards had already caught up to Aaron and they roughly pushed him down onto the ground despite his shouts and protests. They had his hands behind his back as they called the police.

My vision was starting to blur. I was getting light-headed and I swayed from side to side, grimacing in pain as I was struggling to walk and stand on my own. Just as my knees buckled and I was about to collapse onto the ground, somebody rushed to my side and caught me by my arms, holding me up.

"Oh my god, Aurelia!" My name left her lips in a panic. I looked up, blinking a couple of times as I waited for my vision to adjust. From the blurry silhouette, I could somehow tell that it was Serena who was staring back at me with a concerned look etched onto her face.

She had just so happened to pass by when she saw me from a distance. She looked down at me with a worried and flustered look written all over her face.

"Oh my god, oh my god... What happened..." she muttered under her breath as she looked down to see the blood pooling at my shirt, not even noticing that her husband was pinned down on the cold hard ground not too far away from us.

With her shaky hands she reached down to her purse that had fallen onto the ground and reached for her phone. She looked at me, her eyes glistening with tears and fear was swirling in the depths of her eyes.

"Aurelia, hang in there, I’m calling the ambulance, you have to stay with me. Stay with me, okay?"

I nodded as I tried to give her a smile but could only draw in deep breaths, with each breath I took, pain shot through my body once again.

"The ambulance is coming, you need to stay strong, okay? Please..." Her voice cracked towards the end of the sentence as a single tear fell down her cheek.

It was at this moment when she noticed someone struggling on the ground from the corner of her eye. She snapped her head around to find that her eyes landed on her own husband. Her eyes widened in an instant as realisation dawned upon her when she saw the bloody knife lying on the ground only a few inches away from him.

"You!" She hissed, her voice loud unlike her usual soft and gentle tone. "You did this? You stabbed my friend?!" She screamed, her high-pitched voice pierced through the tension that was lingering in the air.

Aaron, who was pinned down on the ground, lifted his head to meet his wife’s eyes. The corners of his lips twisted upwards into a cruel smirk, smugness radiating from every inch of his skin as his eyes gleamed with satisfaction and not a hint of remorse or guilt was detected in that cold stare.

"I did," he answered nonchalantly in an arrogant tone. "That’s what she gets for trying to ruin our marriage!" He sneered with a disdainful scorn.

She let out a breath, disbelief was written all over her face. "I can’t believe you..." she mumbled under her breath.

As if on cue, the police came rushing in and before anyone knew it, they were watching him get handcuffed and taken away by the police.

"I hope you rot in jail!" Serena screamed, her voice shaking with anger that was pulsing through every single vein inside of her body as she gritted her teeth.

By this time, my eyelids were getting heavier and I was starting to feel numb to the pain. Serena’s eyes flickered down to glance down at me.

"Aurelia!" I heard her screaming my name, and that was the last thing I heard before I let my eyes flutter shut and I was soon engulfed in darkness.

Third Person POV

"Were you aware that your boyfriend, Aaron, was planning to attack the victim?" The police officer who was sitting across the table questioned with a serious expression that masked his features.

It wasn’t too long ago when the police showed up at Stella’s workplace and took her in for questioning. She now found herself sitting in a dimly lit interrogation room, facing not one but two police officers looking at her with a stern expression.

She leaned forward, pressing her palms against the edge of the cold metal table. "I didn’t know anything, I swear," she quickly said as she gritted her teeth and clenched her jaws tightly, keeping her gaze steady as her voice remained unwavering.

The same officer arched an eyebrow at her, doubt evident in his tone as he let the next few words roll off the tip of his tongue. "Are you sure about that?" He questioned. "Cause that’s not what your boyfriend told us."

Her eyes widened and anger flashed past her dark brown eyes for a fleeting moment before she pressed her lips into a thin line and took a deep breath in, maintaining a calm demeanour.

"I told you, I don’t know anything," she insisted. "Don’t listen to him, he doesn’t know what he is even talking about."

"Oh but he does," the officer began, a knowing look gleaming in his eyes. "He told us, you were the one who told him to take revenge. That you were the one who told him to go look for the victim at her office. Did you or did you not?"

She felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach at this moment and a flustered look crossed her face for a split second but quickly faded away and was replaced by a pitiful and innocent expression.

She looked up at the officers with wide doe eyes as she shook her head vigorously. "I didn’t! I didn’t say that!" She screamed. She lowered her head this time and let out a breath. "I only told him that he should go talk to her if he was unhappy. I didn’t know that he would bring a knife. I didn’t know that he would attack her. I thought he was just going to talk to her."

She maintained the pitiful look on her face as she continued muttering under her breath as her eyes shifted around nervously, trying desperately to play the part of the innocent girlfriend who knows nothing.

The tears that filled the brim of her eyes came streaming down her face at this moment as she sobbed dramatically, trying to gain their sympathy.

"This is all my fault..." her voice trailed off. "If I hadn’t told him to talk to her this wouldn’t have happened... if I had just followed him to look for her then he wouldn’t do this! He’s not usually this rash and impulsive, he’s not like that! I promise!"

"Okay ma’am, please calm down," the other officer urged.

She sniffled softly and one hand reached up to wipe the tears that gathered at her chin and the tears that stained her red cheeks. She looked up to meet the officers’ eyes, her eyes red and watery from the tears. "I’m sorry..." she muttered softly. "If there is anything I can help with, I will try my best," she offered.

"That will be fine. Your boyfriend will be held for further questioning and he will likely be charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder."

Without sufficient evidence to tie her to this incident, the police had no other choice but to let her go. As she was escorted out of the interrogation room, a wave of satisfaction washed over her as a slight smirk tugged at the corners of her lips went unnoticed.

This was everything she wanted, she couldn’t believe that her plan worked. Using Aaron to get back on Aurelia was the perfect idea, she knew exactly how to push his buttons and fuel the fire that was already burning inside of him.

Deep in the hollows of her heart, she was praying and hoping for Aurelia’s demise, wishing for her death so that she would never be able to bother Blake again and that she can never be a threat to them anymore.

As soon as she stepped out of the station, she didn’t even spare another glance, not even worried for her supposed boyfriend, Aaron. In fact, her lips stretched into a satisfied smile and she couldn’t hold back the cackle that left her parted lips.

Her eyes were narrowed into thin slits as she stared ahead.

"That’s what you get for messing with me."
