Chapter 131: Chapter 131: The Threat

Third Person POV

Continuation of Flashback

His eyes lit up once again and a look of familiarity crossed his face for a fleeting moment before he started nodding profusely. "That’s right, it’s her! She’s the bitch that reported me. She was just an outsider passing by at that time. Her and that stupid husband of hers should have minded their own business."

Stella felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach at that exact moment. She knew Aurelia better than he ever did. This wasn’t just a pure coincidence, it was something more than that. After all, how small could the world be that Aurelia just so happened to bump into the wife of the man she is cheating on Blake with?

"No..." She was shaking her head as she murmured under her breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "No, no, no!" She screamed out loud this time, raising her voice and it cracked as the last word left her parted lips. She was becoming more and more agitated as her dark brown eyes burned with a fiery blaze.

Before they knew it, she had picked up one of the pillows on the bed and roughly threw it across the room, as it landed on the wooden floor with a loud thud. Her fists were clenched tightly beside her as her fingernails dug into the skin of her palms and her eyes were squeezed shut.

"This can’t be... this can’t be," she repeated, obviously in denial as disbelief was written all over her face.

"Stella, what the hell is wrong with you?" Aaron questioned, his voice laced with a mixture of shock and worry as he grabbed her shoulders and forced her to look at him.

She lifted her head to meet his eyes. "This isn’t just a coincidence, Aaron. She knows about us. She knows that you are cheating on your wife with me. She’s out to get us, she wants revenge."

He was staring back at her with wide eyes and a blank expression that was stretched across his face. "What...? What are you..." his voice trailed off as his mind struggled to register what was happening.

"I bet she is the reason your wife is acting strange these days. She must be the one getting your wife to divorce you and leave with the kids. You need to stop her, you need to stop her before it’s too late, Aaron," she pleaded, her voice reeked of desperation as she looked up at him as though she had lost her mind.

He gritted his teeth and his fists were balled tightly and even his knuckles were starting to turn white from the pressure. Anger and rage were spreading inside of him like a wildfire he couldn’t seem to control and the thoughts were starting to engulf him.

"Serena can’t divorce me, she is nothing without me!" He hissed, raising his voice.

"That’s what you think! Maybe she’s hiding something from you but you just don’t know it yet," she continued to instigate and provoke him, fuelling the anger that was already burning inside of him. She wanted him to teach Aurelia a lesson, to scare her to her wits end so that she wouldn’t even dare to utter a single word about this to Blake. And if anything goes wrong, she could blame it all on Aaron. After all, she was great at playing the victim. "This is all Aurelia’s fault, she was the one who is telling your wife to do this, I’m sure of it!"

A smirk tugged at the corners of her lips when she saw the angry expression that was plastered across his face and the look that gleamed in his eyes. There was a moment of silence as tension lingered in the air between them. He then slammed his fist against the bedside table that was sitting next to him, only less than an arm’s length away.

"You are right, I’m going to teach that little bitch a lesson," he sneered with a disdainful scorn, his eyes filled with anger and contempt. "How dare she try and meddle with my marriage and affairs."

Seeing this, a wave of satisfaction washed over her in an instant as the smirk that was etched onto her face widened ever so slightly. She simply couldn’t wait for it.

Third Person POV

Flashback

There was a knock on the door.

"Room service!" A female’s voice called out.

Serena whipped her head around to look at the door before she stood up. There was another knock and she found herself walking over in a hurry. She didn’t think too much of it as she unlocked the door and pushed it open.

In front of her was a woman who had long dark hair and dark brown eyes boring right into hers as she had a slight smile that was stretched across her face.

A hint of recognition flashed past Serena’s eyes for a moment as a sense of familiarity washed over her. The woman looked familiar, she could have sworn that she had seen her somewhere but she couldn’t seem to remember. But before she could open her mouth to say another word, her heart sank and a surprise gasp left her parted lips when she looked behind and locked eyes with her own husband looking right at her.

She quickly reached up to close the door but it was too late. He had reached out to hold the door, not letting her close the door on him.

His eyes were gleaming with an intimidating look. "Surprised to see me?" He taunted with a raised brow and pushed the door wide open, letting himself and Stella into the hotel room before closing it shut.

Serena was frozen in her spot. She knew she needed to scream and shout for help but there was this lump stuck in her throat, and she couldn’t seem to get any words out even if she tried. Seeing the horrified look on her face, Stella couldn’t help but let a satisfied smile fall on her lips.

"Who... who is this... woman?" She questioned, stuttering as she struggled to get the words out. Her eyes flickered over to glance at Stella who had a smug look plastered across her face as her arms were crossed over her chest.

Aaron stepped towards his wife, closing in the distance between them as he leaned in closer, their faces dangerously close and her heart pounded loudly against her chest. "Don’t act like you don’t know her. I’m sure you know about our affair because someone told you," he spat the words out like they were poison in his mouth, his tone stressing on the last few words that left his lips.

His words were like sharp daggers stabbing at her heart. Hearing her own husband confirm his affair with another woman was brutal, even though she had already known this for some time now. A look of betrayal and hurt crossed her eyes momentarily but she quickly shook off the feeling.

"Are you hiding from me?" He questioned, his tone carrying a slight edge to it as his words jolted her back to reality. "Were you planning to divorce me and take the kids with you?!" He asked, the words that left his lips were dripping with accusation as he narrowed his eyes into thin slits.

Serena’s eyes widened with fear as she quickly shook her head. "What...? No... Not at all!" She declared frantically while Stella’s dark eyes danced with amusement and a smirk played on her lips as she watched the scene unfold before her eyes.

Impulse and anger clouded his judgement as rage pulsed through every single vein inside his body. Before anyone knew it, he reached up to wrap his fingers around her throat in a fit of anger, all sense of rationality was thrown right out of the window.

"Don’t lie to me!" He yelled, his loud voice booming in the hotel room as he squeezed her throat, tightening his grip on her as he grew even angrier with each second. "I know all about your stupid little plan! You and Aurelia are in on this together, aren’t you?!"

Serena started choking as her hands flew up to try and pry her husband’s hands off her throat while their daughters watching everything started crying out loud. "Aa...ron... please..." She pleaded, her eyes filled with desperation as she tried to breathe. "The... children..."

Stella stepped forward and placed her hand on Aaron, a smirk still lingering on her lips. "Aaron, baby. Let her go, you are going to kill her at this rate."

Listening to her command, he immediately released his grip on his wife and she collapsed to the ground, holding onto her throat as she gasped for air. Stella glanced down to look at her with a triumphant look etched onto her face as her body loomed over her. She lowered her body and gazed into Serena’s eyes, seeing the helpless look on her face.

She extended her arm towards her. "Are you okay? Let me help you up."

Serena let out a cold chuckle and she slapped her hand away. "I don’t need your help," she snarled.

Stella scoffed. "Fine." She stood back up and straightened her posture. "Let’s see how much longer you can put up this tough act."

Aaron walked forward and stopped before Serena as he looked down to meet her eyes.

"I want you to call Aurelia, and tell her to come meet you here."
