Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Betrayal
The voice taunted as my mind struggled to comprehend the reality that I was thrown right into.
My eyes widened in shock and disbelief as I stared ahead and was rendered speechless at that moment. My mind raced with thoughts and my heart was thumping loudly against my chest, threatening to burst out at any second now.
What the hell is going on? How did this... happen?
I watched as the corners of her lips twisted upwards into a self-satisfied smirk. It was Stella who was standing right before my eyes, smugness radiating from every inch of her skin.
"What are you standing there for?" She mocked, amusement dancing in her eyes. "Come on in," she demanded with a smile playing on her lips.
Before I could even react or say another word, she reached out and wrapped her fingers around my wrist, catching me by surprise. She forcefully yanked me into the hotel room by my arm, throwing me onto the ground and locking the door behind us.
"What... What is going on? Why are you here?" I asked, hurling question after question at her as I looked up to meet her mocking gaze.
"Not just her, I am here too," a familiar voice announced as a deep chuckle reached my ear. I snapped my head around to find myself looking right into Aaron’s eyes, his lips were also twisted upwards into a knowing smirk. My eyes widened as I stared at him with a blank expression that masked my features. "Surprised to see me here? Did you think that I would be stuck in jail because you made that police report? You couldn’t be more wrong, darling." He spat the words out like they were poison in his mouth as he glanced over at me with disdain.
"I will make sure you end up in jail one day!" I gritted my teeth and pressed my palms against the carpeted floor, trying to push myself up to stand on my feet this time. But instead, Stella only walked forward and shoved me by my shoulders without a single warning, causing me to fall back down onto the ground in shock.
"What do you think you are trying to do?" Stella mocked. "You are all alone here and there’s no one to help you."
She squatted down and leaned forward to get closer to me, our faces now barely inches apart. "Just a word of advice, maybe don’t act so tough the next time. Hmm?" She taunted as she arched her brow at me. She stood back up and walked over to rest her arm on his shoulder as she looked down at me with a smirk on her lips. "I know you know about Aaron and I. Did you think you could hide this secret forever? Come on, Aurelia. I’m not stupid."
I turned to look at them, my eyes darting between the both of them.
I took a deep breath. "Where is Serena and the kids? What did you do to them?" I asked, the words that left my lips were dripping with accusation.
She let out a laugh, cackling as if she had just heard the funniest joke in her life. "Serena and the kids?" She repeated, tossing my words back at me with a mocking look plastered across her face. "Worry about yourself first. She betrayed you. She told us all about your revenge plan and she lured you here. Guess you aren’t so smart anymore, are you?" She mocked while Aaron also let out a chuckle beside her.
As soon as the words left the tip of her tongue, I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach and the world had come to a complete pause. I was silent, I didn’t know what to say or what to do, all I knew was that my mind was a mess and I was in denial.
I lowered my gaze and muttered under my breath, my voice barely above a whisper. "No... Serena wouldn’t do this to me. I don’t believe you!" I screamed out loud, my voice cracking towards the end of the sentence. "You are lying to me."
She let out a scoff as the smirk etched onto her face widened. "You know..." she drawled, savouring every word and syllable as she spoke. "You should really be careful about who you can trust these days. I pity you, really. I know how much you have done for her, yet she goes behind your back and stabs you right in your back. After everything you have done for her and this is how she repays you... It hurts, doesn’t it?" She taunted, her words were like daggers piercing right through my chest.
My face darkened within the next second. I stood back up on my feet, rage pulsing through every single vein inside of me as I clenched my jaw tightly and marched towards them. Without a single warning, I raised my arm and slapped her across her face as a surprised gasp left her parted lips.
"It hurts, doesn’t it?" I tossed her words right back at her. "Tell me what you did to them?!"
Before I knew it, Aaron had risen from his seat, anger swimming in the depths of his dark eyes as he glared at me. He wrapped his fingers around my neck and slammed my back into the wall beside us, the back of my head colliding into the wall while Stella watched with a satisfied smile etched onto her face.
"Don’t you get it? Serena took her kids and left after she lured you here, all for some money," he hissed as his grip around my throat tightened and my face started to turn red, I couldn’t breathe.
I reached up to try to tear his fingers off of me but alas, I couldn’t overpower him despite my efforts and struggles. My vision was starting to blur and I could feel myself drifting in and out of consciousness with each passing second. "I... I..." I stammered, struggling to get the words out as he laughed and mocked me.
I was about to pass out when I heard a loud bang echo through the room and rang in my ears as the door burst open.
"Get the fuck away from her!"
