Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential -
Chapter 159: Auction
Chapter 159: Auction
"The first item is an artifact."
Azelis took out the first item from the pouch, displaying a statue of an eccentric egg with strange patterns consisting of waves and swirls.
Everyone looked at the strange artifact.
A statue of an egg?
"It’s called Rebirth Egg, and as its name suggests. It can reborn you." Azelis smiled. "Once you bind this artifact with your soul, it will be yours. And the moment you receive a fatal injury that pushes you to death, your soul will escape and enter this egg, rebirthing you."
"What?!"
The people of the Duraian family and others were startled.
That was absurd!
"Naturally, there’s a catch. After binding with this egg, you will first have to give it 1 liter of your blood every day for 10 days to trigger the rebirth successfully. And only Sovereign-rank and below can be reborn from this, as this artifact cannot sustain and develop the body of Legendary-rank or above rank souls."
"Lastly, once this artifact is active and ready to be triggered, it will last for one year. So, in case you die within a year of this egg’s activation, you can be reborn from the egg, wherever you place it, with the same body you had when you gave it blood, your soul completely safe. But if you die one day after 360 days have passed, rest in peace."
And yet, this item was something all of them wanted.
It was a literal rebirth at a safe place!
There were artifacts that could protect them with a barrier or heal them significantly to save them from the brink of death.
There were many such good artifacts to save one’s life when in danger, but what if after their lives were saved, the danger wasn’t passed yet?
What if they were trapped and almost died, but because of a life-saving artifact, they managed to live? However, they were still trapped and were going to die again.
If so, what was the use of such an artifact?
That was why an artifact like this egg that could literally reborn them from that egg, wherever it was, was way more valuable.
Because even if they died somewhere in a godforsaken place after getting trapped, they would wake up in their home where they had placed this egg!
Seeing their expressions, John smiled. "Well then, let’s start bidding, and by that, just state your price. The one to give me the most value for this artifact will take it."
Frankly, John also wanted to keep this egg. He wasn’t sure if he would get it again.
However, it only worked for Sovereign-rank, and John didn’t think he was going to die anytime soon, especially not in this world.
He had amassed enough assets and ideas to remain invincible in this world, where Sovereign-rank was the limit.
Naturally, he still needed to think about the Demons as he and Chuthulos had no idea about their powers and assets.
"500,000 Sovereign Essence Coins. 50 Sovereign-rank Resources, and one Sovereign-rank Armor Set, including a weapon."
"That’s quite big, but we aren’t going to back down, Dreamforged." Yalentra smiled and made her bid, increasing Sovereign Essence Coins to 1,000,000 while keeping the rest the same."
Ouroboros Hall made a deal surpassing them, and the four forces began the bidding war.
Even though only a single life could be saved from this, it was still important. And the biddings they were doing were not from their organization’s treasury, but their own stash.
So whoever won would take the egg.
Usually, the peak Sovereign-rank didn’t need an artifact like this because they were going to break through to Legendary-rank.
However, the calamity arrived, and demons threatened them to cooperate, so all Sovereign-rank Tamers had to come down.
Those at the peak of Sovereign-rank had more wealth and were bidding because they would be at the frontline against the incoming calamity, and death was always a possibility, but its probability would obviously increase in calamitous times.
So whoever got this artifact was guaranteed to survive this ordeal.
In the end, the artifact went to Ouroboros Hall as one of the peak Sovereign-rank Tamers, an old man looking in his fifties with a long, red beard, bought it for:
One million and two hundred thousand Sovereign Essence Coins.
Eighty-five Sovereign-rank resources.
And the nail in the deal, a Legendary-rank one-time use item of Defense-type, an item born naturally from spirit phenomena—Lifebound Protection Gem.
Although this gem couldn’t make a rebirth at another location, it could create a barrier that could remain indestructible even in the face of Legendary-rank attacks for one whole minute and also provide significant healing to everyone inside the barrier.
The barrier size was fixed—5 meters radius.
Since it was a Legendary-rank item, it couldn’t be used in this world, but John could get tons of Xhal Drops if he sacrificed it, and he was indeed going to sacrifice it.
After all, he wouldn’t be able to use it here, and when he went out of this world, he would have better protection measures thanks to the benefits of the Rune of New Beginning.
’I’ll also sacrifice the 1-ton ore of Lightning and Crystal attributes as well. Even if the ore has those attributes as variants, I won’t need them.’
"The next item is..." Azelis waved her hand, taking out the next item from the storage pouch.
Everyone’s eyes flickered, anticipation clearly visible in them as they saw one hundred cans on the table.
However, unlike the previous Hell’s Paradise Drink, these cans had different designs, different names, and naturally, different effects.
"These are Assault Wing Drinks. Drinking a single can gives you unlimited stamina for one hour as well as a 50% increase in movement and flight speed along as you use soul energy to move."
"After this one hour wears off, a new buff will take effect—All projectiles you shoot will be 50% faster and will have higher penetration power, up to 50%—against both physical and magical defenses."
"And once this second hour wears off, a single attribute among your list of mastery will have its potency increased by 100%."
"You all can bid, but the buyout price is fixed thanks to Duraians." Mr. Sirius smiled.
"We will pay the buy-out price again," Yalentra immediatly said with burning eyes.
"Not so easy."
"Hold your horses."
Naturally, the others were not going to let Duraians have these 100 cans.
After a heated bidding war, Razorshade Syndicate acquired the crate of one hundred Assault Wing Drinks.
The price they paid was 2-ton of Sovereign-rank ore.
1,500,000 Sovereign Essence Coins.
A top-tier Sovereign-rank Armor Set and a weapon.
And an unveiled embryo of a soul gear.
Soul Gear embryos were not useful yet because only Legendary-rank and above Monsters could equip Soul Gears.
But John was going to keep those embryos, of course.
"And the fourth and last item of this auction is this card." Azelis took out the last item.
"Monster Evolution card that can evolve a Legendary-rank Monster to a different form. But if you use it on a peak Sovereign-rank monster, you can evolve it to a different form as well as rank it up to Legendary."
Everyone was dumbfounded.
The last time Mr. Sirius sold a card, it could evolve a Sovereign-rank monster to a different form, but the card could do that to Legendary-rank, and also rank-up Sovereign-rank!
Naturally, the most tempting thing was the evolution forms they could choose themselves.
After all, ranking up was fairly easy for Monsters, as long as they got resources, unlike Tamers who could fuck up their souls and ruin their chances of progression.
After the bidding war, Dreamforged Guild took this.
To be able to evolve a Legendary-rank to a different form was too big because it was a chance to get a top-tier Legendary-rank Monster with high potential.
"Well then, this is it for the auction."
Everyone glanced at each other.
"Mr. Sirius, given how you...antagonized those seven forces, I wonder if you have any plans next?" Yalentra carefully asked. "The situation for our alliance has become tremendously complex with you taking away the Tamers of those seven forces."
Mr. Sirius chuckled. "No worries. Just...do not be foolish."
John narrowed his eyes, oozing out utter dominance borne from his confidence of having many cards up his sleeve.
The Tamers felt a chill.
"You see...I have no fear of anyone or anything as long as I am in this world, where Sovereign-rank is the limit."
Mr. Sirius spoke as he stood up and smiled at the Tamers of the four forces.
"I am not going to escape anywhere. And I suggest you all try to become more thoughtful about the future rather than the present."
"Because..." John’s eyes turned icy as well as his smile. "Maybe only you four will be left when I leave this world. Isn’t it better that you four control this instead of eleven? With me capturing all those Tamers, their power is down, and they can’t possibly hurt you in this world."
"But Mr. Sirius, if we ally with you, those seven will launch an attack on us up there, and that is something we cannot defend against," the Dreamforged Guild’s Sovereign-rank Tamer said with a sigh.
"You have only captured the weakest soldiers when it comes to the higher-ranked world. The strongest are still there, so it’s four versus seven, and we are bound to lose."
"Who said you should ally with me?" Mr. Sirius chuckled.
"I am saying, do not be foolish. By that, I mean do not go against me."
"Because I cannot lose as long as I am here in this world. So if you don’t want to lose, don’t go against me. And if you don’t go against me, you will win in life."
Mr. Sirius smiled. "Simple as that."
"Now then, I’ll take my leave and meet those daring fellows to give them a taste of hell."
