For two consecutive days, Damien Sterling acted as the kids’ fitness coach at home. On the day of their physical exams, he brought in a child health specialist from the hospital to assess their fitness levels.

Though their friendship was deep, excessive words could become burdensome.

With that, she helped Emma Hart to her feet.

"Go back quickly, and bring some delicious cake or coffee," Amelia Davidson said, waving to Ryan Garcia.

Ryan, who was very familiar with Damien Sterling’s preferences, had already prepared a special cake for him. He handed the cake to Emma Hart.

Emma Hart took the cake prepared by Ryan for the trip and smiled at him. "Thank you, Ryan."

Ryan Garcia nodded and urged her to hurry up.

Emma Hart pushed open the door and lightly walked toward the Sterling Group office building.

"She’ll be okay, right?" Ryan Garcia asked Amelia Davidson.

"You’re talking about Emma? She should be fine," Amelia Davidson replied, grabbing her bag to leave as well.

"Well, I’m off too. Do your best." Amelia Davidson turned back and smiled at Samuel Garcia as she pushed open the café door, giving him a beautiful view of her retreating figure as she left.

Ryan Garcia smiled wryly, thinking about how capable his two older siblings were. He wondered when he would finally stop being single.

Meanwhile, in Mr. Sterling’s office, Emma Hart placed the cake she brought for Damien Sterling on the coffee table.

"Where did the cake come from?" Damien Sterling rubbed his eyes, still groggy from his nap.

"I was chatting with Amelia downstairs at the café, and Ryan Garcia prepared this cake especially for you," Emma Hart explained while opening the cake box, revealing a Black Forest chocolate cake.

She forked a small piece and offered it to Damien Sterling. "Try it!"

Damien Sterling sat up and took a bite of the cake.

Suddenly, Emma Hart’s phone rang.

"Strange?" she thought. Who could be calling her at this time? She picked up the phone and saw her mischievous brother Max’s picture on the screen.

"Hello, little brother?" Emma Hart answered, wondering what trouble he had gotten into this time.

"Sis, are you free now?" Max asked from the other end of the line.

Emma Hart frowned, more concerned about the noisy background, which sounded like a busy street, than about Max’s words.

"What’s going on? Are you not at school?" Emma Hart’s voice rose, suddenly anxious. Max had promised her he would behave and stay in school.

"I...I..." Max stammered, unsure how to explain to his sister.

"Hurry up and tell me!" Emma Hart pressed.

"Sis, I’m right downstairs at Sterling Group," Max finally admitted, swallowing nervously.

"What did you say?" Emma Hart shouted into the phone, catching Damien Sterling’s attention.

"What’s wrong?" Damien Sterling asked, putting down his cake, puzzled.

Emma Hart glanced at Damien Sterling and then spoke into the phone, "I’m coming down. Wait there." She hung up quickly.

"Max is downstairs at the company. I need to go see him," Emma Hart told Damien Sterling.

Damien Sterling stood up. "Let’s go. I’ll come with you."

Together, they took the elevator down.

When they arrived, they saw Max wearing a blue hat, expensive trendy clothes, and the latest Adidas sneakers, staring at the ground and kicking at the air.

"Max!" Emma Hart called out angrily.

"Sis!" Max looked up immediately, fear evident in his eyes.

Emma Hart and Damien Sterling quickly approached Max.

"Why aren’t you at school? Why did you come here?" Emma Hart asked anxiously, not giving Max a chance to speak.
