Overbearing CEO's Contract Love -
Chapter 383: Always Watching You
Chapter 383: Always Watching You
"Umm..." Amelia Davidson started to feel a bit conflicted. Disagreement could be awkward.
So, under the guidance of the staff, they toured each zodiac-themed area.
They eventually decided to stop at the dreamy Pisces section, with its starry skies and cloud-like furniture, creating a serene ambiance.
Following Amelia Davidson’s recommendation, each of them ordered an Ice Cream Fallen Angel and a slice of cheesecake.
"Emma, are you an Aries?" Matthew Taylor asked.
"Yes," Emma Hart nodded, feeling a bit shy.
"It’s April now, so it’s Aries season, right? When is your birthday?" Matthew Taylor continued to ask.
"Mr. Taylor, Emma’s birthday has already passed! It was on April 15th," Amelia Davidson answered for Emma.
She scrutinized Matthew Taylor. This man was about the same age as the aloof CEO, often wearing a warm smile, yet giving off the impression of a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Her woman’s intuition told her that Matthew Taylor definitely had feelings for Emma Hart.
"Oh dear, that’s really unfortunate. I must give you a belated birthday gift!" Matthew Taylor said, half-covering his face.
"No need for that, Mr. Taylor!" Emma Hart still hoped to maintain some distance from Matthew Taylor.
"By the way, the lovely lady beside Emma, how should I address you?" Matthew Taylor turned to Amelia Davidson.
"Just call me Amelia Davidson, that’s what everyone calls me." With that, Amelia Davidson raised her glass of lemon water, adorned with her wedding ring, and toasted him.
"Pleased to meet you, Amelia Davidson!" Matthew Taylor also raised his glass in response.
"Excuse me," the waiter said, bringing over three glasses of the drink called Ice Cream Fallen Angel.
The Ice Cream Fallen Angel had three layers: the top layer was a large chocolate ice cream ball, the middle layer was thick white cream mixed with small black specks, which Amelia Davidson said were chocolate ice stars, and the bottom layer, making up about two-thirds of the glass, was chilled cola.
"This is really special," Emma Hart said, looking at the three creative drinks. She eagerly scooped a spoonful of ice cream from her glass, her face brimming with happiness and satisfaction.
Seeing her innocent and carefree expression, Matthew Taylor couldn’t help but smile. It was Emma Hart’s pure and kind heart that had made his parents insist he meet her. Unfortunately, she had a boyfriend at the time, Damien Sterling.
It was only later that he found out Emma Hart was pregnant with Damien Sterling’s child. The thought brought a pang of sadness to his heart.
"OMG! It’s bubbling! What do I do?" Emma Hart’s Ice Cream Fallen Angel started to fizz up.
"Quick, use the straw to drink it!" Amelia Davidson quickly instructed Emma Hart.
After finishing the ice cream on top, Emma had dipped the straw into the cola, stirring it slightly, causing the cola to fizz up entirely.
This action made Matthew Taylor’s heart skip a beat as he watched.
"By the way, Emma, how are things with Mr. Sterling?" Matthew Taylor asked.
"Good, thank you for asking, Mr. Taylor. We are doing well, and we’re planning our wedding soon!" Emma Hart said, clearly excited about the topic.
"Another wedding?" Matthew Taylor feigned surprise.
In reality, he was well aware of Emma Hart and Damien Sterling’s situation. Ever since they left B City last time, he had been investigating their affairs and uncovered quite a few shocking secrets.
A one-night stand, pregnancy before marriage, and Emma Hart running away from the wedding—these revelations had astonished him.
"Yes, we felt the previous wedding wasn’t perfect, so we plan to hold it again," Emma Hart shyly responded, her voice gradually lowering.
"Oh, how wonderful, and enviable," Matthew Taylor said.
"Mr. Taylor, aren’t you married yet?" Amelia Davidson was intrigued by this man. It wasn’t because she was interested in him, but because he seemed very concerned about Emma Hart, especially regarding romantic matters.
"No, I don’t have a girlfriend! I’m so busy with work that I don’t have time for dating, though my parents are pressuring me..." Matthew Taylor said, taking a bite of the cheesecake the waiter had just brought. "I feel a bit guilty towards them!" He sighed helplessly.
"Mr. Taylor, you’re young and accomplished, and so handsome. You don’t need to worry about not finding a girlfriend or wife; it’s more about whether you want to date," Amelia Davidson stated the obvious truth.
"Well, I’ll just stay single for a few more years!" Matthew Taylor shrugged with a wry smile, then pouted playfully.
"Hahaha, Mr. Taylor, you’re quite an interesting person." With years of social experience, Amelia Davidson could handle anyone and always kept the atmosphere lively.
"Do you have any plans for dinner? If you don’t mind, would you join me at a seaside restaurant?" Matthew Taylor asked.
Amelia Davidson and Emma Hart politely declined his invitation.
The three of them spent the afternoon chatting about various topics at the dessert shop. Before leaving, Matthew Taylor left his phone number with Amelia Davidson.
"Amelia, why didn’t you just add him to your contacts? Wouldn’t that be easier?" Emma Hart asked curiously in the car.
"Silly sister! I’m married; I can’t just add another man to my contacts! Leaving a phone number without doing anything is the smart move, understand?" Amelia Davidson winked at Emma Hart.
In his Rolls-Royce, Matthew Taylor wasn’t driving but instead copied Amelia Davidson’s phone number and sent it to someone else.
"Check the owner of this number’s contacts and let me see without adding them," Matthew Taylor instructed the person on the other end of the line.
Then, he drove away.
On the coastal highway, Matthew Taylor sped to an underwater viewing restaurant along the coast.
In a VIP room, several men in suits were either chatting or admiring the ocean view.
They were soon drawn by the sound of the door opening.
"Mr. Taylor, long time no see," Damien Sterling extended his hand to greet the entering Matthew Taylor.
Matthew Taylor walked over and shook his hand warmly.
"Matthew Taylor!" Mr. Sterling Senior, leaning on a cane, also approached Matthew Taylor with a welcoming smile.
