Chapter 381: Girlfriends’ Gathering

"Emma Hart, you!" Damien Sterling shook his right foot in the air. This woman sure didn’t hold back with her kicks!

"Hehehe." Emma Hart stood there, swaying her head and laughing smugly.

"I’m leaving." Feeling slightly annoyed, Damien Sterling prepared to leave this place that had disappointed him.

"Wait." Emma Hart suddenly blocked him, then pressed the back of Damien Sterling’s head with her hand, and stood on tiptoe to kiss him.

This little woman was now taking the initiative to counterattack.

Feeling amused, Damien Sterling embraced the little bunny who had willingly delivered herself to him.

After sending Damien Sterling to his car, Emma Hart returned inside to wait for her fitness instructor.

Her schedule was packed: P.E. during the day, beauty treatments at night, and a two-hour nap at noon. Emma Hart was so exhausted that she didn’t even have the energy to pick up her kids from school.

Five days later at noon, Emma Hart was chatting on the phone with Amelia Davidson.

"Emma, why do you sound so lifeless?" Amelia Davidson asked. She knew Emma Hart was preparing for her wedding, but having gone through it herself, she knew Damien Sterling wouldn’t let Emma Hart tire herself out.

"Ah...Amelia, I feel like I can’t hold on anymore!" Emma Hart complained to Amelia Davidson.

The daily exercise was becoming more intense, her diet was strictly controlled to maintain a good figure, and it had been a long time since she sneaked a snack.

"Sister, you’re in the process of transforming from a caterpillar into a butterfly. Learn to endure it. Once you transform, you can wear that beautiful wedding dress!" Amelia Davidson cheered Emma Hart up.

Emma Hart envied Amelia Davidson, who always had a great figure and didn’t need such grueling training.

To comfort Emma Hart, Amelia Davidson suggested they go shopping to de-stress this weekend.

After eagerly pleasing Damien Sterling like a servant in the evening, Emma Hart got permission to go shopping alone with Amelia Davidson on Saturday.

During the lunch break, Emma Hart was waiting for Amelia Davidson at a café next to Sterling Group.

She sat by the window as soon as she entered, ordered a cappuccino, and looked forward to seeing Amelia Davidson.

Today was rare; Amelia Davidson had to return to the office for a meeting, and they had agreed to have lunch together, without their men.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Emma." The café door opened with a crisp bell sound.

Amelia Davidson ordered an iced Americano with half sugar at the counter, then walked over and sat opposite Emma Hart.

"Amelia, your hair!" Emma Hart exclaimed, noticing that Amelia Davidson had replaced her long curly hair, which nearly reached her waist, with a chestnut-colored bob, making her look younger and more spirited.

"Hehe, nice, right? I got it cut a couple of days ago, and Logan Harrington loves it!" Amelia Davidson said, indulging in her own joy.

Emma Hart politely nodded, thinking that no matter what hairstyle or clothes Amelia Davidson changed to, Logan Harrington would love it.

"Miss, here’s your coffee." The waiter brought the iced Americano Amelia Davidson ordered, along with two lollipops.

"What’s this?" Amelia Davidson asked.

"It’s on the house, a special treat for beautiful ladies! We hope to see you again!" The waiter whispered, fearing the other customers without lollipops might hear.

Emma Hart couldn’t help but marvel at how Amelia Davidson, a woman who could easily rely on her looks, chose to depend on her talents instead. When she arrived, she didn’t even receive any candy. She knew she wasn’t bad-looking, so what gave?

In the next second, Amelia Davidson’s words shattered the last bit of confidence Emma Hart had.

"Emma, why are you dressed like this today? You look like a bookworm," Amelia Davidson remarked as she scrutinized Emma Hart’s outfit.

Emma had her hair in a high ponytail, wearing clothes that leaned toward a cotton-linen literary style. Anyone who didn’t know better might think she was a freshly graduated bookish college student!

"Is it that bad?" Emma Hart felt very displeased with Amelia Davidson’s critique.

Amelia shrugged, indicating she wouldn’t continue her evaluation.

The two ordered simple meals at the café, and after eating, they headed towards the shopping plaza.

Amelia Davidson drove.

"Come on! Get in the car, and I’ll take you to a newly opened shopping plaza for some fun!" Amelia Davidson said excitedly, raising the car keys above her head.

Emma Hart cheerfully took the passenger seat.

On the way, they needed various topics to pass the time.

"Emma, I need to tell you something, but you mustn’t tell anyone, not even Logan Harrington," Amelia Davidson said earnestly.

"No problem, go ahead," Emma Hart agreed.

This seemed like a big deal.

"Well, I’ve decided to resign from my job," Amelia Davidson said, taking a deep breath to steady herself.

"Resign?" That was indeed a big deal.

"I submitted my resignation this morning. It should be approved soon. Now I won’t have to see that annoying old widow every day," Amelia Davidson said, as if a huge burden had been lifted from her shoulders.

"So, Amelia, what’s your plan?" Emma Hart asked.

"I’m planning to buy a small villa and turn it into a B&B. I’ll get to interact with all sorts of handsome young men and have more time to spend with Logan Harrington..." Amelia Davidson had everything planned out.

Over the years, she had earned a substantial amount, not as much as Damien Sterling, but enough to comfortably run a small B&B.

"Best of luck, Amelia!" Emma Hart sincerely wished her success.

The newly opened shopping plaza, called "Ice Heaven," was not far from Sterling Group, just three traffic lights away.

Its décor matched its name "Ice Heaven" with blue glass floors and white-themed decorations, giving off an icy, snowy vibe.

The plaza was divided into three areas: a food court, a shopping area, and an entertainment and leisure zone.

"This is it! This brand’s clothes are incredibly popular abroad, and in A City, ’Ice Heaven’ is the only place you can find it!" Amelia Davidson led Emma Hart straight to the third floor of the shopping area, enthusiastically recommending a store called Pink Doll to her.

The store’s décor was primarily pink, with the hottest pink squirrel decoration on the side, making it overwhelmingly adorable.

"Amelia, is this store really suitable for us?" Emma Hart hesitated to go in.

It looked like a place for little girls. Wouldn’t they, being older, be mistaken for moms shopping for their kids?

"What’s unsuitable about it? This is one of the most popular stores right now, and we’re still young, so there’s nothing to worry about!" Amelia Davidson said as she pulled Emma Hart into the store.
