Overbearing CEO's Contract Love
Chapter 377: Spring Outing 2

Chapter 377: Spring Outing 2

Damien Sterling and Ryan Garcia turned on their phones’ built-in flashlights, while Lucy Allen and Emma Hart braced themselves against the walls to prevent falling.

The higher they climbed, the more treacherous the path became. The narrow, dark path was eerie, almost making one believe the place was haunted.

Despite the difficult climb, they reached the top of the tower within a few minutes. The top was spacious enough to hold five to ten people comfortably. From there, they could feel the embrace of the surrounding mountains. The spring breeze rustled the leaves, creating a green sea that was truly refreshing.

Damien Sterling hugged Emma Hart from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Didn’t you want to take a photo? Go ahead," he whispered in her ear.

"Really?" Emma Hart was thrilled. She had been begging Damien for a photo together on the way up, but he had stubbornly refused like a child. Now, seizing the opportunity, she quickly pulled out her phone for a selfie with him.

Lucy Allen, seeing the couple tightly embracing, couldn’t help but use a popular internet phrase to vent her feelings, "Ugh, get a room, you two!"

Ryan Garcia had noticed their behavior from the start. Smiling helplessly, he pulled Lucy over for a photo too. "We are the pride of the single world! We can’t let them look down on us!"

Lucy readily agreed with Ryan’s words, and they took a group selfie with a selfie stick. As the sky darkened, they knew it would be dangerous to stay longer, so they hurriedly started descending.

The wind picked up, and the temperature dropped. Emma Hart began to sneeze.

"Emma, where’s your jacket?" Ryan Garcia suddenly noticed Emma was no longer wearing the sports jacket she had come with.

Everyone realized it was missing. Emma sheepishly admitted that she had taken it off during the climb because she was hot and had tied it around her waist. She remembered it was there when they took photos at the top but must have left it in the tower.

"Oh no..." Lucy Allen covered her eyes, pretending to be in distress.

"Why are you always so careless?" Damien Sterling’s tone had a hint of reproach. He himself was only wearing a long T-shirt.

Ryan Garcia sighed helplessly. This woman was always causing trouble. As Emma continued to sneeze, Ryan began to take off his jacket to give to her.

But then, something surprising happened. Damien Sterling took off his only piece of upper clothing and put it on Emma. His muscular body was exposed to the cool air. The loose, warm T-shirt stopped her sneezing immediately. Emma felt warm from the inside out.

"Let’s go! Hurry," Damien Sterling said, ruffling Emma’s hair before taking her hand and leading the way.

Ryan Garcia and Lucy Allen were stunned. They paused for a moment before following. Ryan felt particularly awkward, having already half-removed his jacket, only to put it back on. To make matters worse, Lucy had witnessed his clumsy attempt, leaving him both embarrassed and flustered.

They followed behind Damien Sterling and Emma Hart.

"Humph," Lucy Allen covered her mouth, letting out a slight chuckle.

"What are you laughing at?" Ryan Garcia rolled his eyes at her.

"You know why. Ah, it doesn’t feel cold anymore!" Lucy teased. Ryan Garcia really was a foolish guy, or perhaps, a boy.

"Are you..." Lucy pointed at Emma Hart, then made a heart shape with her fingers, staring expectantly at Ryan Garcia’s face.

Ryan’s features, though not as striking as Damien Sterling’s, were very appealing. Plus, he and Damien were completely different types: one was warm like the sun, the other as cold as an iceberg.

"Are you out of your mind?" Ryan retorted, rolling his eyes again. Why would she ask such a thing? He was Ryan Garcia, after all. How could he possibly be interested in someone as plain, troublesome, and worrisome as Emma Hart? Only his foolish brother Damien would be! And besides, she was Damien’s girl, and one shouldn’t mess with his brother’s woman.

"Think what you want, I still believe it," Lucy said, crossing her arms behind her head in a carefree manner.

The return journey was much easier than the climb, and in less than an hour, they were back down the mountain. Of course, they quickened their pace, aware of the dangers that lurk in the forest at night.

The sun was expected to set around seven, and it was a little after six when they began their descent. They didn’t stop, hurrying back to Peach Blossom Town.

Damien wished they had driven here. They returned to Peach Blossom Town precisely at seven.

The old man at the guesthouse was waiting for them, then led them to the large cabin for dinner. They would depart for City A the next day.

The cabin was bustling with guests, many of whom came to bid farewell to Damien and his group. The children made numerous greeting cards for Emma Hart, wishing her health and safety.

After dinner, Ryan Garcia and Emma Hart played with the kids for a while. They only stopped when the children were tired and sleepy.

On the way back to the guesthouse, Emma Hart was so exhausted she could barely walk. Damien Sterling carried her on his back, and before they even arrived, he heard her soft snores.

It was very dark in the town, and Lucy Allen was too tired to even feel jealous of Emma Hart. She just wanted to get back to her room and take a hot bath.

Ryan Garcia, lost in thought, nearly tripped. He couldn’t stop thinking about Lucy’s question about whether he liked Emma Hart, her fingers forming a heart.

At bedtime, the town was extremely quiet. Even these night-owls from out of town quickly fell asleep once they returned to their rooms.

The next morning, after breakfast, Assistant Lee and the driver were ready early, waiting for the four bosses to get in the car. They packed the cakes and gifts from the townspeople and headed back to City A.

On the road, everyone was mostly silent, seemingly reluctant to leave the idyllic life behind.

Back in City A, the routine of daily life resumed, but it felt a bit hard to get used to. The pastoral scenery outside the window was something they missed dearly.
