Chapter 332: The Beachside Restaurant

Logan Harrington and Amelia Davidson sat on the bench, enjoying the breathtaking sunset.

"Where did you guys disappear to? We scoured the whole beach and couldn’t find you," Logan Harrington said, a mix of curiosity and concern in his voice.

"Actually, you were just running around the beach, realizing midway that we were nowhere to be found," Emma Hart replied with a smirk.

"Haha, Emma, you hit the nail on the head," Amelia Davidson laughed heartily.

"Seriously though, where did you guys go?" Amelia Davidson asked, her curiosity piqued.

Emma pointed towards a nearby swimming complex. "We took the kids to the pool to teach them how to swim."

As she spoke, Emma gently patted the baby in her arms. Suddenly, Damien Sterling’s phone rang. It was the driver who had brought them to the beach earlier, calling to check their exact location.

Damien quickly sent the driver their coordinates. Afterward, they headed back to the communal changing room to shower and change.

"I never thought you’d be okay with showering in a place like this," Logan Harrington remarked, astonished as he watched Damien turn on the shower.

"It’s no big deal," Damien replied nonchalantly.

In truth, he was surprised at himself. In the past, he would have balked at the idea of using a public shower, let alone enduring the crowded pool. Perhaps it was Emma Hart’s influence that had softened his stance on such ’low-brow’ activities. As he showered, he couldn’t help but chuckle at the memory of snacking on spicy treats with Emma on the couch during New Year’s. It was a moment both amusing and nostalgic.

After their showers, they changed into fresh clothes and exited the changing room. The driver was already waiting by the luxury car, holding the door open for them.

Exhausted from the day’s activities, they settled into the plush seats as soft English melodies played over the car speakers. The gentle tunes, coupled with the singer’s soothing voice, lulled Emma Hart, Logan Harrington, Amelia Davidson, and the children into a peaceful slumber.

Damien Sterling sat in the second row, gazing out the window at the passing scenery. The sleek black limousine glided through palm-lined avenues, weaving left and right, before entering a verdant meadow. After crossing the green expanse, they arrived at an exclusive beachfront parking area.

"Mr. Sterling, we’ve arrived," the driver announced, stepping out to open the door for Damien.

The passengers stirred, awakened by the stillness of the car and the sound of the door opening. Rubbing their tired eyes, they climbed out, taking in their new surroundings.

In the seaside villa district, the car pulled up to a line of about ten hostesses bowing in welcome. This was the beachside restaurant co-founded by Logan Harrington and Damien Sterling, an upscale establishment developed from ten interconnected villas, specializing in island-themed snacks and seafood delicacies. The serene, rustic charm of a country courtyard combined perfectly with the chic ambiance of urban sophistication, giving the place a retro yet elegant feel.

They headed to the top-floor VIP section of the villa closest to the beach and the busiest. Sitting in this exclusive spot, one could almost touch the stars with an outstretched hand or feel like they were about to plunge into the ocean waves with a glance downward. This area wasn’t open to the public; only individuals of significant status could reserve it. However, as the owners, Damien and Logan could use it anytime they pleased.

As they settled into their seats, the waitstaff began bringing out fresh and delicious island cuisine from the kitchen.

"You two really outdid yourselves," Amelia Davidson remarked, genuinely impressed. She had always seen Logan Harrington as a frivolous playboy until Damien Sterling had explained that the design, menu planning, and the entire concept of the restaurant were all Logan’s brainchild. This revelation changed Amelia’s perception of Logan significantly.

"Everything I have is yours," Logan said, toasting Amelia. Their sweetness as an engaged couple was enough to make anyone else feel overwhelmed. Emma Hart, feeling a bit out of place amidst their public displays of affection, glanced at Damien Sterling, who was watching her with amused interest. Feeling self-conscious, Emma decided to freshen up.

"I’ll be right back," Emma said, standing up. "I need to use the restroom."

"Don’t take too long!" Amelia called after her.

Logan and Amelia continued their unabashed flirting, while Damien scrolled through economic news on his phone, looking like a forlorn single man. Meanwhile, Emma finished in the restroom and stood at the mirror, adjusting her outfit. She suddenly noticed a familiar figure in the mirror’s reflection, but before she could confirm, the figure vanished, heading towards the restrooms. She shook her head, thinking it was just her imagination, and left the restroom.

Returning to the table, Emma found it laden with a variety of rare and exquisite seafood dishes. The flavors surpassed even those of the previous night’s dinner at the mountaintop restaurant in Vana Mountain. The food here was authentic and fresh, leaving them all feeling invigorated after their meal.

They chatted as they ate, with Emma Hart enthusiastically recounting the babies’ impressive performance at the swimming pool to Amelia Davidson and Logan Harrington.

Amelia was thrilled, exclaiming that with proper training, the babies might become professional swimmers one day. Logan, beaming with pride, slung his arm around Damien Sterling’s shoulders. "You guys don’t know this, but our dear Sterling here is a certified second-level national swimmer!"

Emma and Amelia’s eyes widened in surprise, staring at Damien as if he were a hidden treasure.

"Logan, put your arm down and keep eating," Damien said nonchalantly.

Suddenly, the soft background music in the restaurant stopped, replaced by a more vibrant melody. A stunning woman in a black dress with her hair elegantly pinned up took the stage with a microphone. Her striking figure and familiar face caught Emma’s attention.

As the woman began to sing, applause erupted from the audience, particularly from a table closest to the stage where the cheers were the loudest.

"It’s Natalie Black!" Emma recognized her former best friend immediately.

"Natalie Black..." Emma’s voice trailed off, a mix of nostalgia and sadness in her tone. She never expected to see her in such a setting.

A barely noticeable smile crossed Emma’s lips as she took a sip of champagne. Once upon a time, she might have felt an urge to confront Natalie, but not anymore.

If it weren’t for Natalie Black, Emma might never have met Damien Sterling, wouldn’t have had her two adorable children, or formed such close bonds with Amelia Davidson and Logan Harrington.

She might still be trapped in a hollow relationship with Ethan Turner, the man who had betrayed her for money.
