Chapter 322: Reunion

"Ryan! Get up, you lazy boy!" Brianna Baker barged into Ryan Garcia’s bedroom without any hesitation, yanking the sleeping Ryan out of bed.

"What the heck, Mom? What are you doing?" Ryan groaned, clearly irritated. If it wasn’t his own mother, and instead someone like Logan Harrington, he would have beaten them up for waking him.

"The sun’s been up for ages! Get dressed! Harper is here!" Brianna said, beaming with joy.

"What!" Ryan instantly snapped awake. That girl! After what he did to her, she dared to come back?

Brianna left the room, and Ryan stood in front of his wardrobe, contemplating what to wear to meet Harper Clark. Suddenly, he had a bold idea.

In the living room, Harper Clark and Brianna Baker were sipping tea by the window, basking in the bright noon sunlight. The scene was serene and picturesque.

"Hey, beautiful ladies!" Brianna and Harper turned toward the voice, their lovely faces twisting in shock.

Ryan Garcia strutted in wearing a pink shirt tucked into dress pants, paired with black pointed shoes. It was, to say the least, incredibly outdated and tacky.

"Why are you dressed like that?" Brianna gasped, jumping up from her seat after a moment of stunned silence. Was her silly son trying to infuriate her?

"Ryan...you..." Harper stammered, clearly at a loss for words.

Seeing their reactions, Ryan was overjoyed. If they were going to force him into this, he was going to make it as difficult as possible! No one was going to ruin his bachelor life so easily.

"Harper, don’t you think I look particularly manly today?" Ryan teased.

Harper could only roll her eyes in exasperation.

"Go change your clothes now!" Brianna ordered, furious.

"No way! We have an appointment at the hospital soon. Mom, we should get going!" Ryan replied with a mischievous grin.

"If you don’t change, I’m not going!" Brianna huffed.

Initially, Ryan planned to carry Brianna straight to the car, but she proved to be a formidable opponent. As soon as he picked her up, she scratched him, making him squirm in pain and ultimately give in. He returned to his room to change into his usual stylish outfit.

In the car, Harper sat in the front seat, quietly laughing to herself, while Ryan sulked like a child who had just lost a game.

In the hospital, Brianna Baker, using the excuse of needing to use the restroom, created an opportunity for Harper Clark and Ryan Garcia to be alone.

"Pfft..." Harper Clark turned her head, trying to stifle a laugh.

"Can’t hold it in anymore?" Ryan Garcia rolled his eyes at her.

"Ryan, oh Ryan! You really outdid yourself today with that manly scent!" Harper Clark teased, her tone dripping with sarcasm."You think humiliating yourself will make me go away?"

Ryan’s frustration evident, but what Ryan didn’t realize was that Harper thrived on this kind of challenge. The more he tried to push her away, the more determined she became to cling to him, to make him hers.

Ryan felt a surge of anger but knew he couldn’t do anything rash with Brianna Baker nearby. An idea suddenly struck him. He grabbed Harper’s face and kissed her, their lips barely touching, no further movement.

His eyes closed, savoring the warmth and softness of her lips.

Harper stood frozen, not responding, but her mind was in turmoil.

Brianna Baker, emerging from the restroom, spotted the kissing pair through the crowd. She was overjoyed.

"My son is finally growing up!" she thought, eyes wide with delight, savoring the moment.

After a while, Ryan pulled away, noticing Harper’s slightly dazed expression and smirking mischievously.

They remembered they needed to visit Joshua, who was in the hospital, and decided to buy some gifts for him.

Damian Sterling, upon receiving Ryan’s call, sent a bodyguard downstairs to welcome them.

"Hey!" Ryan greeted Damian and Emma Hart enthusiastically as he entered the hospital room, immediately engaging Joshua with some toys.

The room filled with the sound of children’s laughter.

Watching Ryan play so earnestly, Damian felt a mix of happiness and helplessness.

"Mr. Sterling!" Harper greeted Damian politely. "I came with Ryan. I’ll go check on Emma and the kids." She hurried away, leaving Damian unfazed.

This was a tactic taught by Sophia Greenwood. To gain everyone’s trust completely, Harper had to stay close to Ryan Garcia while keeping a respectful distance from Damian Sterling.

Seeing Harper Clark’s arrival, Emma Hart felt a surge of resentment but didn’t know how to express it. She forced a smile, hiding her true feelings.

Damian Sterling greeted Brianna Baker briefly before pulling Ryan Garcia into a corner.

"Bro, what’s up?" Ryan asked.

"Isn’t there something you want to ask me?" Damian countered.

Ryan’s smile faded, his expression growing serious. In a low voice, he asked, "What did he want when he came to see you yesterday?"

Damian paused for a moment before responding, "He and Grandpa came to visit Joshua, but I don’t think it was that simple."

Seeing Ryan remain silent, Damian continued, "I believe he’s going to make a move soon."

Ryan swallowed hard, trying to calm his nerves. "Let’s not talk about this today," he suggested softly. "Not now, with everyone here."

Understanding Ryan’s sentiment, Damian released his grip on his shoulder. "Alright, we’ll find another time to discuss this."

They turned back towards the hospital bed where everyone was gathered around Joshua. The once frail newborn had grown into a chubby, healthy baby, the center of everyone’s attention and affection.

Determined, Damian silently vowed to protect his family and career. He resolved to resolve the current generation’s troubles to ensure they didn’t spill over into the next.

Time flies, and soon Joshua is discharged from the hospital.

In the Sterling family home, Mrs. Harris was bustling about, preparing Christmas Eve lunch. Emma Hart had called her earlier, instructing her to get everything ready as they were finally coming home after over a week in the hospital. Joshua had fully recovered, and it was time to celebrate.
