Overbearing CEO's Contract Love
Chapter 295: Do You Like Me?

Chapter 295: Do You Like Me?

Tomorrow is the semifinal, and Emma Hart feels uneasy. Last night, Damien Sterling slept in the adjacent room, so she rose early.

At that moment, Mrs. Harris was still preparing breakfast.

"Mrs. Harris, may I help you?" Emma walked downstairs and offered.

"No need, Miss Emma, rest yourself. Breakfast will be ready shortly," Mrs. Harris responded, appreciating Emma’s gesture.

"Mrs. Harris, could you make me a bowl of pasta?" Emma asked.

"Of course!" Mrs. Harris replied.

Mrs. Harris’s breakfasts were Emma’s favorite.

Emma quickly finished her pasta. Mrs. Harris was delighted to see her enjoy the meal. After all, a good appetite is a blessing.

"Emma Hart, let’s get going." Before Emma could catch her breath, Damien, already dressed, stood by her side, grabbed a slice of bread, stuffed it in his mouth, and asked Mrs. Harris for a glass of milk.

"You’re up early?" Emma was surprised.

"It’s already 6:30. Hurry up and change. Today, you need to go to the office to watch the models’ runway rehearsal and make the final adjustments," Damien instructed.

"Okay!" Emma hurried upstairs.

"Miss Emma! Be careful!" Mrs. Harris called after her.

By seven, they arrived at the company on time. Due to their typically busy schedules, the model rehearsals needed to be completed before eight. Emma and Damien reached the catwalk where the other contestants and models, including Harper Clark, were already present.

"Mr. and Mrs. Sterling!" Everyone greeted them respectfully.

"Mr. Sterling, Emma!" Harper approached them warmly.

"Let’s get started!" the director shouted.

Lights and music filled the stage, and after an impassioned introduction by the host, the models gracefully dominated the runway. Since it was just a rehearsal, it proceeded quickly and efficiently without much time or energy spent.

After the rehearsal, Emma felt less nervous.

"Dear Damien!" Ryan Garcia’s voice came from afar.

"What are you doing here?" Damien frowned, annoyed. Lately, Ryan had been frequently showing up at his company and flirting with his secretary. It seemed necessary to consider adding him to the company’s blacklist.

"I came to see Harper Clark!" Ryan Garcia scratched his head, his eyes fixed solely on Harper.

Harper Clark kept her head down, saying nothing as the four of them walked to the company building.

"Mr. Sterling, Emma, we’ll be heading off now," Harper said, bidding farewell to Damien Sterling and Emma Hart before taking Ryan’s hand and leaving with him.

Damien and Emma couldn’t help but marvel at how quickly things were progressing between the two. Soon after, they headed towards Building A of the company.

Unbeknownst to them, Harper kept looking back as she walked away with Ryan, her gaze lingering on someone.

On the street.

Ryan suddenly let go of Harper’s delicate hand and asked, "Harper Clark, do you like me?"

Harper stopped dead in her tracks, stunned by the sudden question.

After a pause, she finally spoke, her voice as soft as a whisper, "Why would you ask that?"

"Hmph!" Ryan placed his hands behind his head, revealing an inscrutable smile, "If you’re not interested in me, don’t use me as a backup!"

"What are you talking about?" Harper’s voice deepened.

"Your little actions don’t fool me, an old hand at the dating game! You like Damien Sterling, don’t you?" Ryan’s words were light, almost teasing. "You’re just using me to get close to him."

"What nonsense are you talking about? I don’t understand..." Harper retorted.

"When you see him, your expressions and tone are completely different from when you speak to others. You’re always looking back, offering him water. Do you know? Even your breathing changes when you hand him water..." Ryan suddenly stepped closer, leaving barely an inch between them.

Harper calmly pushed Ryan away.

"See, I told you, it’s completely different!" Ryan said confidently, convinced nothing could escape his observation.

"Please, Mr. Garcia, stay out of my affairs!" Harper turned to leave.

Ryan stepped forward and grabbed her wrist firmly, "And Ms. Clark, please... have some self-respect!"

"You!" Harper glared at Ryan fiercely.

Ryan slowly released his grip on her wrist, smiling warmly, "Take care."

He turned and waved goodbye, leaving Harper alone in the chilly morning air. She bit her lower lip and clenched her fists as if trying to crush something in her hands.

Inside Mr. Sterling’s office.

"I’ll have someone drive you home."

"No, I want to see the dress completed."

"Alright, I’m off to a meeting. Call me when it’s done."

Damien Sterling left, his morning filled with a meeting he couldn’t focus on with Emma Hart in the office. He had wanted to send her home, but she was unexpectedly determined.

Emma was tired but more concerned about her dress. Working at Sterling Group felt like navigating a palace—deep and treacherous. She feared sabotage, someone switching or damaging her dress, which would not only be embarrassing but also waste all her recent efforts.

Damien instructed the company’s top tailor to prioritize Emma’s dress.

After nearly a day’s work, the dress was finally ready. The last one Harper Clark tried had fitted perfectly, just missing a touch of something.

Once the dress was completed, Emma quickly called Harper back to try it on. Harper was cooperative, arriving at the company in less than fifteen minutes.

"Sorry to ask you to come back, Harper Clark," Emma apologized.

"It’s no trouble at all, Emma," Harper responded as she took the dress and stepped into the fitting room.

It was past closing time, but given that it was Mrs. Sterling’s request, the tailor didn’t dare leave.

Soon, Harper emerged wearing the dress Emma designed for the competition.

She was about ten centimeters taller than Emma, and her fair, slender figure showcased the dress’s attributes exquisitely. The sheer fabric at the chest added a touch of allure to her ample bust, and the high slit of the skirt subtly revealed her legs, complemented by her peach blossom makeup today. Harper didn’t just look stunning; she seemed ethereally beautiful—like a fairy straight out of a tale.

Seeing Harper, Emma nearly drooled, thinking that if she were a man, she would surely fall at her feet.

"Emma, how does it look?" Harper twirled in front of Emma, smiling with satisfaction...
