Chapter 934: Chapter 927: Volunteering to Join the Battle

"Knowing how to shoot isn’t enough," Luo’er spread his hands and said, "Their weapons and equipment are more advanced than yours, only slightly inferior to ours. Plus, they might have had professional training. You can’t compete with that."

"Then I’ll use a bow and arrow. That’s my forte, right?" Axia seemed unwilling to give in.

"This..." Luo’er looked helplessly at Cheng Ziang.

"I am familiar with the terrain here and know how to deal with them. Besides, they are after me. I don’t want to just hide and be protected by you all," Axia continued.

"It’s precisely because they’re after you that you should be hiding and letting us protect you," Luo’er said.

"Since they’re targeting me, I have the confidence to strike back, because even if I make a mistake, they won’t kill me immediately. They need to capture me to lead them to the tomb," Axia said.

"Luo’er, let her go," Cheng Ziang sighed and said, "She’s an Elf and has fought in the Otherworld wars. I think her combat skills aren’t that bad. She knows how to deal with those people."

"Alright," Luo’er agreed after a moment of thought and then said to her with a stern face, "But you’ll have to unconditionally follow my commands. Can you do that?"

"No problem!" Axia narrowed her eyes and flashed a charming smile.

"Aunt Axia..." Eve stepped forward and called out anxiously.

"Eve, stay with Luo’er and the others. Don’t run around. Leave this to us," Axia said gently while stroking her head.

"Okay," Eve nodded hesitantly, and then said with a worried face, "Aunt Axia, you have to be extra careful."

"Don’t worry, if the Earthlings couldn’t kill me, neither will those Southerners," Axia said with a confident smile.

"Aunt Axia, take my weapon too," Eve said, unhitching her belt with the pistol and handing it over to Axia.

It was a weapon issued to her by headquarters before departure, meant for self-defense and counterattacks. However, since there had been no significant danger along the way, and the Advance Team was protecting her, she hadn’t had the chance to fire it.

"This, what about you..." Axia took the pistol and hesitated to ask.

"Don’t worry, we’ll protect Eve," Luo’er interrupted with a cough.

"Then I’ll leave her in your hands. Eve, be good and wait here for my return," Axia said as she attached the pistol holster to her waist and caressed Eve’s cheek.

"I know, Aunt Axia, and everyone, make sure to come back safely," Eve nodded her head and said.

In front of Axia, Eve acted obediently, like a young lady who had stayed within the confines of her home, entirely different from her previous aggressive demeanor.

"Listen up, everyone," Luo’er cleared his throat a bit and then said seriously, "This is an experimental combat situation. Our enemies are armed and dangerous, so be extra vigilant. If I’m in charge of commanding, it might not be possible to cover every angle. You must rely on your initiative. While following unified commands, you must adjust your arrangements based on the battlefield situation. Don’t wait for orders like fools. If you can’t beat them, run. Don’t stay put waiting for a transfer order—that would be foolish."

"Understood!" Everyone nodded and answered in unison.

Eve went into the inner room and quickly changed into her gear, a compact leather archer’s outfit with two quivers: one on her back, and one slung at her back waist.

The quiver at her waist was cylindrical, packed tightly with arrows, so deep that you could almost only see the feathers. As she moved, these arrows didn’t shake about, as they were snugly fitted.

The quiver on her back was designed to clamp the arrowheads and wrap around the shafts, which required some force to pull out the arrows, and it seemed to hold less, perhaps fewer than ten.

Considering that Axia was also an Elf, Luo’er suspected that the arrows in her back quiver were likely Kedal arrows. These arrows were hardly effective against Rune Armor, but their penetration against standard physical Defense was remarkable.

Aunt Axia was wearing a pair of leather gloves that extended to her wrists. There was nothing out of the ordinary about the left hand, but there was something peculiar about the right.

On her right thumb and index finger, each was fitted with a ring, which Luo’er knew to be an auxiliary tool used for drawing bowstrings when shooting arrows. Additionally, her index, middle, and ring fingers were all fitted with thickened leather sheaths, so Luo’er guessed she could use both the Mediterranean and Mongolian methods of archery simultaneously.

The bow carried by Axia was quite interesting. It wasn’t a traditional Wood Elf style bow but a modern recurve bow from Earth with a draw weight of over fifty pounds; she claimed to have bought it from a caravan.

Just before their departure, Axia brought several white cloaks for the Advance Team members to change into. These cloaks were saved by Axia, some of which had already turned yellowish.

While they were preparing on that end, Luo’er and Baiyue were also busy with the help of Fulajie’er, diligently drawing maps of the vicinity.

If Fulajie’er could independently conduct commands, she wouldn’t need a map at all, but as she was still new to this, she could only have Luo’er assist; and Luo’er required a map to assist because he couldn’t fly up to command from the air like Fulajie’er.

"Next, we’ll scout the enemy’s distribution and direction of advance so that we can effectively allocate our forces to attack their weak points," Luo’er continued to instruct Fulajie’er.

"Oh, I understand," Fulajie’er nodded vigorously.

"Hurry, the enemy is approaching. We must set up the ambush before they attack," urged Luo’er.

"I know, I know," Fulajie’er nodded, and in the blink of an eye, she disappeared from her spot.

"Check your mobility devices, and set the current altitude scale," Luo’er told his team members.

"What is this?" Axia couldn’t help but ask upon seeing everyone tampering with the strange device at their waists.

"Mobility devices, developed by our organization using Earth technology and Otherworld magic, they significantly enhance the mobility of an individual soldier," Luo’er explained succinctly.

Hearing his words, Axia squinted her eyes, sizing Luo’er up, then continued, "Is it powered by Magic Crystals?"

"Hmm, only Magic Crystals can power these anti-gravity Runes," Luo’er nodded, responding truthfully.

"Anti-gravity Runes, you actually have anti-gravity Runes?" Axia’s eyes widened in shock as she looked at them.

"Is it that rare?" Luo’er shrugged his shoulders.

"Anti-gravity Runes are the prized secret of High-peak Dwarves; how could they be willing to share with you? Or did you already resolve the issue with Ronisca?" Axia asked with furrowed brows.

"It looks like you’ve been living in the mountains for too long, you’re not very informed about the current situation," Luo’er said with a smile.

"Aunt Axia," Eve pulled on her sleeve from behind, then whispered, "High-peak people are one of their organization’s partners."

"You actually managed to cooperate with High-peak people?" Axia said in surprise upon hearing Eve’s words.

"What’s so surprising about that? We’ve also established a partnership with Ilanadale," Hu Daoke, who was checking his weapons, couldn’t help interjecting.

"Ilanadale, Wood Elves, how did you manage to convince such a stubborn group of Wood Elves?" Axia grew increasingly amazed.

"That’s easy, our boss..." Hu Daoke was about to speak but was interrupted by Luo’er.

"That’s enough, you all should depart now. Check your Ghost Positioning Systems so Fulajie’er can find you and guide you to your respective positions," Luo’er waved his hand, speaking calmly.

Hearing his command, everyone picked up their weapons and left the room. Axia walked up to Luo’er, squinting her eyes and sizing him up with an unreadable expression as if she had guessed something.
