Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 847 - 840: Setting Out for Real

Chapter 847: Chapter 840: Setting Out for Real

"So, should I do something for that Melia?" Fulajie’er pondered and asked.

"You guys better not mess around, my head is already spinning," Luo’er said helplessly.

"Won’t bother you," Fulajie’er twirled in mid-air, then asked again, "Are we leaving tomorrow?"

"Yes!" Luo’er nodded.

"Then I’ll go say goodbye to my sister," Fulajie’er said.

"Sorry, making you leave your sister again," Luo’er said with a look of regret.

"Don’t say that," Fulajie’er said with a smile, "after all, I’ve grown up, I can’t cling to my sister all the time, can I?"

Once the itinerary was confirmed, the members of the Advance Team began preparing the necessary supplies for departure. Of course, most of the preparations were carried out by the staff at the base. They just needed to cooperate.

To ensure that the Advance Team could avoid the CIA agents deployed in the Otherworld to the greatest extent, Wang Xu had already started deploying smoke grenades a few days before departure. He arranged several carriages to head out in different directions in the past few days, hoping to attract the attention of these agents.

In the meantime, he prepared fast horses for the Advance Team so that, after leaving the base, they could proceed directly to the upper reaches of the Roen River. Princess Melia’s people would meet them there, and once the Advance Team rendezvoused with Melia’s people, they would escort the team all the way to the entrance of the North Lead Corridor, doing their utmost to ensure the safety of the Advance Team.

"Little Fengye, while I’m away, you have to take good care of Ziang," Mr. Sword Saint Yalunte half-knelt on one knee, gripping Feng’s little hand excitedly, on the day of departure. In front of acquaintances, Yalunte made no attempt to conceal his deep concern for Cheng Ziang.

"Oh, I understand," Feng opened her eyes wide and nodded earnestly.

"Don’t agree to everything he says," Cheng Ziang frowned, looking disgusted, "Really, it’s like I’m still a little kid."

Yalunte approached Cheng Ziang and said seriously, "You are not as capable as Little Fengye, so let her take the lead, and don’t try to act tough."

"Are you speaking human language? Retreat in the face of danger and let a little girl take the front?" Cheng Ziang rolled his eyes, sparing no feelings in his retort.

"Don’t be stubborn about this," Yalunte pleaded tirelessly, "Little Fengye’s abilities are even stronger than mine; nothing will happen if you let her take the point."

"Sorry, can’t do," Cheng Ziang flatly refused.

"You..." Yalunte was so frustrated by his response that he was momentarily at a loss for words, then he turned to Luo’er and said, "Little elf, you have to help me keep an eye on him."

"I know, I’ll help, don’t worry, Mr. Sword Saint," Luo’er nodded and replied.

"Quit adding chaos, if there’s nothing else, get out of here!" Seeing Yalunte bothering Luo’er, Cheng Ziang also became irritable, his brows furrowing as he started to shoo people away.

"Why treat me that way, I’m just concerned about you," Yalunte said, a bit aggrieved.

"Are you hoping the whole world will know our relationship or what?" Cheng Ziang glared at him, lowering his voice and snapping in a huff.

"Well, I’ll be going first then..." Yalunte was taken aback for a moment, then lowered his head and said.

"I’ll come back safely, don’t worry about me." Hearing his downtrodden voice, Cheng Ziang felt a pang of guilt and added this line in the end.

"Aiyah, haven’t even finished the honeymoon and already off on a mission," Hu Daoke couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh.

"Wow, you two?" Cheng Ziang sidled up to him with a mischievous grin and made a few gestures.

"You know..." Hu Daoke scratched his head embarrassedly while jabbing him in the ribs a few times.

"Not bad, when do I get to be godfather?" Cheng Ziang asked excitedly.

"Forget it, it ain’t even a thing yet and you’re in such a hurry," Hu Daoke pretended to be nonchalant while waving his fist, "But honestly, even if it comes to choosing a godfather, it’s not your turn, it’d be the boss’s. Just be content with being an uncle."

"Why should I, I’m older than you," Cheng Ziang objected unhappily.

"It’s my call!" Hu Daoke declared.

"Stop fooling around, the two of you, and get ready to mount up after checking your gear," Wang Xu coughed to interrupt their scuffle.

He looked worriedly at Luo’er, who was tightening Tangmo’s belt, and sighed, "The supply issue might become a major problem for your journey to the Snow Domain since there’s no branch of Blaiqi merchants there. Our support will have difficulty reaching you, so you’ll have to rely on yourselves."

"Don’t worry," Luo’er turned back to reassure him, "I feel this expedition likely won’t involve too much intense combat. Besides, I estimate that by the time we reach the Snow Domain, the shipping routes along the western coast of the Continent would have thawed, and we could resupply directly at Luscaque."

"No matter what, if you really can’t hold on, send us a distress signal, and we’ll deploy an airboat to rescue you immediately," Wang Xu said earnestly.

"That won’t be necessary," Luo’er remarked.

"Luo’er, your Advance Team is currently the strongest squad at the front-line Headquarters, without exception. We can’t afford to lose any of you, nor can we bear such a loss. So I hope you think things through before acting," Wang Xu stepped forward, patting Luo’er’s shoulder as he spoke.

"I understand," Luo’er responded, glancing at Cheng Ziang and sighing deeply before nodding firmly.

"And that goes for you, too," Wang Xu leaned in and whispered.

"I know," Luo’er averted his gaze, nodding somewhat sheepishly.

"Off you go, and stay safe," Wang Xu said as he adjusted Luo’er’s gear before letting go reluctantly.

"We’re heading out," Luo’er declared, quickly mounting his horse, then looking around and calling out, "Advance Team, mount up and prepare to depart!"

"We’ve already transported the daily supplies you’ll need ahead of time to Princess Melia’s camp. Once you join them, they will hand the supplies over to you," Wang Xu said, looking up at Luo’er.

"I understand," Luo’er responded.

"Off you go, and stay safe." Despite his reluctance, Wang Xu waved goodbye.

"I have one more thing," Luo’er suddenly remembered something and reined in his horse, saying to Wang Xu.

"What is it?" Wang Xu asked, somewhat surprised.

"It’s about what I mentioned to you before," Luo’er said, looking at him.

"Before..." Wang Xu paused and then gave a wry smile, "You’re still thinking about that."

"I hope that when I return, you’ll have made your own choice," Luo’er said earnestly.

"I get it," Wang Xu nodded, somewhat resigned.

"Then I’m off," Luo’er said, and with a gentle pat, his well-behaved horse started to move forward.

"Lord Luo’er, are you leaving now?" Truth stood at the doorway with Jora behind her, looking aggrieved. As Luo’er approached, she immediately came forward to greet him.

"Truth, take good care of Jora while we’re away," Luo’er said with a smile.

"I will if that’s your wish, Lord Luo’er. I promise," Truth replied earnestly.

"I told you not to call me Lord Luo’er. Who taught you this bad habit?" Luo’er said with a bitter smile.

"Sorry, I will correct myself, Lord Luo’er," Truth said apologetically.

"Never mind, never mind," Luo’er dismissed it with a wave of his hand, "when you return to Earth, say hello to Kali and the others for me."

In truth, Luo’er could see what Truth was implying. She likely wanted him to bring her along. After all, as a Snow Elf hybrid, she was inherently more suited to the environment of the Snow Domain than they were.

But Truth also clearly understood that Luo’er probably wouldn’t take her since, on the one hand, she had her own matters to attend to. On the other hand, Truth lacked combat abilities. She would only burden the Advance Team and wouldn’t be of much help.

It’s worth noting that even Eve, who served as their guide, had learned basic shooting skills with weapons in this period. The Advance Team truly embraced the philosophy of being fully armed to the teeth.
