Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 804 - 797: Clearly Understand

Chapter 804: Chapter 797: Clearly Understand

The message was sent out a little after eight in the morning, and by around ten, a reply had been received. There was no denying that although the Otherworld could not use radio or satellite phones, it had this highly efficient method of communication reliant on magic.

The only flaw of this method was that magic messengers facilitated point-to-point magic communication, not the broadcast style commonly found on Earth.

The advantage of this approach was its strong confidentiality, as only the communicating parties could receive each other’s messages, and it was nearly impossible for others to intercept them. However, the downside was the inconvenience, as it required prior special arrangements for personnel to interface with the other party, and if one side encountered an accident, the connection needed to be re-established.

The letter was written personally by Wang Xu. He informed Luo’er that they could consider Eve as a contingency plan and bring her back to their base for proper accommodation. Additionally, regarding Luo’er’s proposal to support Azita, Wang Xu didn’t dismiss it completely, but left it to Luo’er’s discretion.

In principle, headquarters neither supported nor recognized Azita as a partner, but the Advance Team could offer limited support to ensure he continued to disrupt the CIA’s deployments in Holy Heart City.

As for the limit of this support, it was entirely up to Luo’er to decide, and headquarters would provide the necessary assistance.

Actually, the reason Luo’er wanted to give Azita a leg up was not just to annoy the CIA, but more importantly to ensure that he wouldn’t turncoat and swing back to the CIA’s side.

This was because there was a precedent for this guy’s defection. He had previously plotted against the Advance Team in Holy Heart City, leading to their loss of soldiers and weakening of force, something Luo’er still resented to this day.

After reading Wang Xu’s reply, Luo’er finally had a clear idea of what to do next. What troubled him at the moment was where on earth he could secure a batch of weapons for Azita.

"Luo’er, there’s movement downstairs." Just as Luo’er was about to burn the letter over the kerosene lamp, Fulajie’er’s warning echoed in his mind.

"Is it Azita?" Luo’er watched the letter turn to ash, asking without looking up.

"Yes!" Fulajie’er, floating in front of Luo’er, nodded vigorously.

"You really nailed it, boss." Hu Daoke looked at Luo’er, saying with a look of admiration.

"Let’s take it easy for now, pretend we don’t know anything, and see what tricks he’s going to play," Luo’er said.

"Got it!" Hu Daoke nodded, eager to get started.

Soon, a polite knock came from the door, followed by a man’s voice asking courteously, "Excuse me, is Captain Luo’er here?"

"Come in!" Luo’er nodded and thought to himself, don’t tell me you don’t have an inkling as to whether I’m here or not, don’t tell me you haven’t arranged someone to watch us.

Upon receiving Luo’er’s response, the person outside pushed open the door, and immediately Azita stepped in briskly, with his subordinates standing at the door.

"None the worse for wear, Mr. Azta," Luo’er said with a feigned smile.

"None the worse for wear," Azita nodded, then after looking around, turned to Luo’er with concern, "I wonder how Captain Luo’er’s night was?"

"Fair to middling," Luo’er exchanged a glance with Hu Daoke, then shook his head, "just that this bed is pretty uncomfortable, didn’t sleep well."

"Oh, I see. I will have the owner change to a better bed for you as soon as possible, my apologies for any discomfort you’ve suffered," Azita said with all due courtesy.

"That would be best, of course, but the food here isn’t great either. It would be excellent if that could be changed as well." Luo’er suppressed a laugh and spoke earnestly.

"Of course, of course, how could we let our distinguished guest suffer? We will definitely pass on your suggestions to the owner, ensuring that our esteemed guest won’t suffer any longer," Azita’s smile seemed a bit forced.

"By the way, could we get some booze? I’ve been snoring away all day, my throat is parched," Hu Daoke also chimed in.

"Certainly, certainly, that can be arranged," Azita hastily agreed.

Watching Azita’s smile gradually fade, Luo’er couldn’t help but find it amusing that although Azita was the one in need, he still played coy, wanting Luo’er to be the one to bring up the matter.

Luo’er had no intention of initiating the conversation; if Azita continued to prevaricate, he would just drag it out further with him.

"Did the two of you hear any strange noises last night?" Azita finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and took the initiative to ask.

"Strange noises, as in what kind of noises?" Luo’er asked, not understanding.

"Such as, the sound of gunfire?" Azita said expectantly.

"Was there?" Luo’er looked toward Hu Daoke, purposely asking.

"I don’t know, I slept pretty deeply." Hu Daoke blinked and said.

He was telling the truth; he had indeed slept very heavily last night. Had it not been for Luo’er mentioning it, he would have had no clue about the gunfire.

"His snoring was too loud. All I heard last night was his snoring, none of the other noises." Luo’er pointed at Hu Daoke and said.

"Sorry about that..." Hu Daoke scratched his head, looking apologetic.

"Uh..." Faced with their reactions, Azita’s expression turned very awkward and disappointed. He stood dumbfounded for a long while before opening his mouth helplessly, "Last night, the Booze Ghost Gang got close to this area, but they were driven back by our people."

"Booze Ghost Gang," Luo’er immediately widened his eyes upon hearing this and then glanced at Hu Daoke, pretending to be shocked as he asked, "Did they come after us?"

"It’s not clear yet," Azita shook his head, his expression resolute, "But no matter what, we will protect you all. Please rest assured."

"How thoughtful of you, we hardly know what to say," Luo’er said with a smile.

"You flatter me, Captain Luo’er. After all, we are friends, aren’t we? Although we’ve had our disputes, they’ve now been resolved. So the Hounds Gang will definitely do everything in our power to ensure your safety," Azita, with a wave of his hand, boasted unabashedly.

"So, Mr. Azta’s visit at this time is out of concern for us?" Luo’er looked at him and asked.

"Of course," Azita paused, his face showing difficulty, "It’s just, at the moment our Hounds Gang is in a weakened state, and I fear we may not be able to protect you adequately. Last night the Booze Ghost Gang were repelled, but next time, it’s hard to say."

"So?" Luo’er asked.

"So... Could Captain Luo’er possibly extend your generosity to help us through this present difficulty?" Azita’s face turned red with the strain, but he finally gritted his teeth and asked.

"Mr. Azta, are you hoping that we can assist your gang through the current difficulties?" Luo’er asked.

"Yes, although, although just being able to return is already a great kindness from you, reviving our former glory still relies solely on Captain Luo’er’s assistance," Azita said through gritted teeth, with obvious reluctance.

The situation was just as Luo’er had anticipated; Azita was trying to scare them with a sham to get their assistance.

If this had been before, Luo’er might have fallen for it, but now with Fulajie’er’s help, he easily saw through Azita’s charade and wasn’t trapped by it.

However, Luo’er also had no intention of outright exposing this, because he did indeed plan to help Azita. At the very least, until they left Holy Heart City, Azita must not fall, or else their situation in the east city area would be endangered.

"Since Mr. Azta has gone to such lengths to protect our safety, it is right that we should do something to repay this kindness, isn’t it?" Luo’er pondered for a moment, then showed a smile and politely said.

"On behalf of the Hounds Gang, I thank you, Captain Luo’er, for your great kindness. We will never forget your generosity, and we will vow to guard your safety with our lives," Azita said excitedly, his words tumbling out awkwardly upon receiving a positive response from Luo’er.

"Don’t get excited, Mr. Azta," Luo’er consoled.

"I apologize for disappointing you," Azita’s expression eased slightly after hearing Luo’er’s words, but it was still evident how thrilled he was.
