Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 654 - 647: Luo’er’s Decision

Chapter 654: Chapter 647: Luo’er’s Decision

Thirty minutes after the crash, the Advance Team had successfully moved their position and were slowly making headway towards the hill not far away.

According to Cheng Ziang’s conjecture, if the enemy’s first search party was entirely wiped out, there was a high chance they would send out even more search parties to the crash site. This could potentially empty their ranks and allow the Advance Team to make their move.

Of course, all these were possibilities, contingent on Cheng Ziang’s assumptions. Currently, Luo’er was arranging for Fulajie’er to locate the positions and prepare the deployment of the anti-aircraft positions. She could separate herself from Luo’er by approximately two to three kilometers, and seemingly ignored gravity, making her an ideal reconnaissance asset.

On the ground, the Advance Team primarily relied on Feng’s perception to evade the bulk of the enemy troops. This Magic World had no radar or satellite surveillance, so much of the time, the Advance Team had to find an indirect strategy, relying on seemingly mystical forces.

Although they had always been skeptical about Feng’s perception, they all observed that her perception rarely misfired. She was like a living radar system, with every movement of all beings within a 50-meter radius neatly filed in her mental inventory.

Feng, wielding her long sword calmly, took the lead, while Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang played the rear guard. The two injured pilots were placed in the middle of the group for safety. After all, both pilots struggled with the Tasta language, making communication with the Advance Team a significant challenge and therefore, they were unable to form an effective combat force.

Speaking of luck, the dwarf crew members suffered the most in the crash. One dwarf gunner was lost, one was seriously injured, and one lightly injured. The Advance Team had only minor injuries, giving the impression that the dwarf crew members had taken the brunt of the disaster for them.

Feng, calmly leading the team, showed minimal emotion on her face. She was always tranquil, rarely showing any emotional fluctuation, even when killing and dismembering others, her expression was perpetually impassive.

Suddenly, Feng, who was at the front, stopped in her tracks. Luo’er, behind her, noticed a flicker of her ears and couldn’t help but ask, "What’s happening?"

"Someone’s coming!" Feng responded, staring wide-eyed at Luo’er.

"What’s their position?" Luo’er asked.

"Over there!" Feng raised her hand and pointed to the left front of the team.

"How many of them are there? Can you feel it?" Luo’er asked, his brows tightening.

"Approximately..." Feng tilted her head, a confused expression on her face, then said, "About twenty or so people!"

"Ziang, you were right. They’ve really sent more people," Luo’er crouched on the spot, then beckoned Cheng Ziang to come forward.

"What should we do? Follow the original plan?" Cheng Ziang queried.

"Yes, follow the original plan and avoid them!" Luo’er nodded firmly.

"Uh..." Feng stood confused behind Luo’er, "Can I kill them?"

"Kill them," Luo’er spun around to face her and his eyes widened in shock, "That’s twenty-odd fully armed marksmen you’re talking about."

"It’s just over twenty people, wait no, thirty now. But, it’s not particularly difficult." Feng maintained her composed demeanor, staring innocently into Luo’er’s eyes.

"This..." Luo’er took a deep breath, casting a questioning glance at Cheng Ziang, and the two exchanged mutual expressions of incredulity.

"Should we let her have a go?" Cheng Ziang hesitated.

"No, it’s far too dangerous." Luo’er shook his head, deciding right away.

"Luo’er," Cheng Ziang called out, his eyes narrowing as he continued, "Have you forgotten about the prophecy? According to our interpretation, Feng won’t be in any danger, at least not for now. Otherwise, how could you possibly lead her to her destiny?"

Hearing his words, Luo’er fell silent for a moment, then resolutely shook his head again: "She cannot attack. As the Captain, I order Feng not to attack. Our plan is clear, we’ve to bypass these people, then strike their rear, not go after them halfway."

"But once these people offer backup, it would exert great pressure on us." Cheng Ziang debated.

"True," Luo’er pondered for a moment, then said, "Still, I can’t let Feng attack."

"May I know why?" Cheng Ziang looked at Luo’er; knowing that Luo’er was not acting on emotion, over the course of two years of war, Luo’er had grown into an excellent commander.

"There’s no doubt about Feng’s combat ability; the recent fight made it clear that Feng is now our Advance Team’s most important asset. Perhaps the combined power of our entire team could not even match her. This brings us to the problem," Luo’er paused then continued, "You deduced that they will continue to send people to search, and you were right, meaning their rear might possibly be vulnerable."

"However," Luo’er emphasized, "if their rear is still teeming with troops and has strong combat ability, how shall we seize their positions then?"

"So you mean..." Cheng Ziang narrowed his eyes, seeming to comprehend Luo’er’s intentions.

"With our current strength, it’s impossible to combat an enemy that is several times our size and well-rested. Now that we have Feng, who can make up for some of our inadequacies, she is the only ace card we have at hand. We should let her conserve her energy to seize the enemy positions, and not let her waste her magic reserve by attacking indiscriminately. Remember, her magic reserve is limited. Once exhausted, it must be replenished, and this will inevitably delay our plans," said Luo’er, a stern look on his face."

"Well, I can quickly replenish her magic with a Brilliant Singularity, I’ve tried it before," Tangmo raised her hand, lacking confidence as she said.

Luo’er glanced at her, then sighed, "Let’s not mention the widespread magic fluctuations caused by Brilliant Singularity. The spell itself also takes a toll on you. You’re one of the few mages we have in the Advance Team. If your magic capabilities get exhausted, you will be asked to leave the Advance Team."

Hearing Luo’er’s words, Tangmo immediately lowered her hand, then discreetly stuck her tongue out. For her, the greatest punishment would be being expelled from the Advance Team, because then she would no longer have the chance to be with Luo’er.

"So, do you understand what I’m trying to say?" Luo’er turned and asked Cheng Ziang.

"I get it. No objection. We’ll proceed as you’ve said!" Cheng Ziang shrugged and pouted, which wasn’t to imply he didn’t agree with Luo’er. Instead, he was sincerely happy. It seemed that Luo’er indeed didn’t require his advice anymore.

"Feng, continue monitoring their movement and lead the team around them!" Luo’er turned to Feng and commanded.

"Understood!" Feng blinked her large eyes, nodded, and although her request to attack was rejected by Luo’er, no trace of regret could be seen on her face.

She continued to lead the team, guiding the Advance Team to avoid the enemy’s search party and continued towards the hill.

The jungle was dense with shrubs. The trees in this area were not very tall, thus the sunlight could directly reach the ground, creating a thick undergrowth of shrubs and vines. Visibility was exceptionally low, and progress was difficult. Had it not been for Feng’s sensing ability as a warning radar, Luo’er wouldn’t have been aware that a group of enemies had just passed them by.
