Chapter 649: Chapter 642: The Swordsman Who Knows Magic
Under the two waves of attack from the Advance Team, the opponents hastily retreated, leaving behind the bodies of several companions. However, Luoer had no time to pay attention to them and thus did not order a pursuit.
"Fula, stay alert to their movements, Little Ke Yue’er stand guard, everyone else go rescue!" After driving off the enemy, Luoer quickly commanded loudly.
Speaking of this, he and Cheng Ziang managed to pry open the deformed cabin door, finally seeing the dwarf pilot and his copilot who had collapsed in the cockpit.
Due to Tangmo’s short stature, she slid directly into the cabin and climbed into the cockpit from inside to check on their conditions.
"They’re still breathing, just passed out!" After a brief check, she reported to Luoer loudly.
"Good, get them out, then we’ll retreat!" Luoer said, feeling somewhat relieved.
While these dwarf pilots didn’t interact much with them, they helped in significant ways during battles, so Luoer couldn’t abandon them no matter what.
He and Cheng Ziang laboriously dragged the soft bodies of the dwarf pilots from the deformed cockpit. Because the dwarves were small in size, there was still plenty of space in the badly deformed cockpit.
With the combined efforts of the three, the unconscious dwarf pilots and copilot were carried out of the cockpit and laid flat on the ground nearby. Tangmo hopped out of the cabin and immediately began to evaluate their injuries.
"The pilot’s injuries are minor, mostly superficial wounds. However, copilot’s left forearm is broken!" After a brief check, Tangmo reported to Luoer.
"Great, get them treated and then try to wake them up. We need to evacuate this place as soon as possible!" Luoer ordered.
"Luoer!" At this moment, Fulajie’er’s voice reached his ear. However, she only called out to him and didn’t continue speaking.
"What’s up?" Luoer asked.
"Well, more people are coming." Fulajie’er said.
"I see, Moumou stays behind to treat their injuries, everyone else prepare for battle!" Luoer nodded as he loudly commanded after Fulajie’er’s report.
"Well, that’s not necessary..." Fulajie’er stuttered.
"What’s wrong with you? Why’re you stammering? If you have something to say, then just say it and don’t just leave it halfway!" Luoer frowned, feeling a bit angered.
"Well, Feng has already started attacking and is fighting with them." As Fulajie’er was speaking, rapid gunshots were heard in the distance.
"Damn it! Who told her to attack?" Luoer fumed.
"It was...you." Fulajie’er hesitated to respond.
"Tch," Hearing her words, Luoer scratched his head in frustration, then shouted, "Everyone, move forward to support Feng. She can’t deal with so many people alone!"
After saying that, Luoer led the remaining team members, advancing with their guns towards the site with the dense gunshots. He didn’t know if it was an illusion but Luoer felt that the shooting from the other side was gradually weakening with every step they took forward.
"Fula, move ahead to scout, ascertain the enemy situation!" Luoer commanded with a frown.
"Oh!" Fulajie’er nodded and quickly flew to the front.
"Luoer, there are magical disturbances!" Baiyue, who was not far away, frowned and said to Luoer just as Fulajie’er had left.
The sensitive magic sensing of Baiyue clearly felt that the magic in the air was rapidly fluctuating, but it wasn’t intense as only she could feel it. She speculated that there were people on the other side releasing magic, which caused the magical disturbance.
Generally speaking, magic absorption usually causes the most intense magical disturbance, whereby anyone with a little knowledge of magical sensing can sense it. Thus, a mage’s fight definitely accompanies significant magical disturbances.
But the magical disturbances caused by magic release are much smaller, so small that only those with sharp magical sensing can perceive it. Other people can’t sense anything.
If Baiyue hadn’t got it wrong, Feng’s magic formula was continuously releasing magical energy. She would absorb magical energy in advance and store it in her body, only to release it during battle. As such, only someone like Tangmo or Baiyue, who are sensitive to magic disturbances, could feel the magic disturbance she creates during battle.
Upon hearing Baiyue’s words, Luoer finally had an understanding. Clearly, Feng was casting a magic formula, which was why there was a continuous magic disturbance. If Feng could use magic formulas, that meant her situation wasn’t too bad.
"Luoer, don’t go over, get down!" Just as Luoer had taken a few steps forward, he heard Fulajie’er’s anxious voice in his ear.
Before he could react, he felt something whizzing past him. Immediately after, the branches and shrubs beside him uniformly fell to the ground, their cuts astonishingly neat. Even some tree trunks as thick as bowls suddenly split into two and sadly fell down.
The branches and shrubs in front of him turned into fragments and fell down with a crackle. What appeared before Luoer was Feng’s petite figure. He saw her standing in the midst of a mess of trees, tightly holding a sword in her hand.
Next to her, trees and shrubs were cut in half, falling in rows to the ground. The forest area where she stood had a large space cut out of it, with hardly any trees taller than one meter visible.
"What is this!" Seeing her silhouette, Luoer couldn’t help but exclaim.
Accompanying the fragmented branches were several irregular corpses. These bodies were cut into several pieces, scattered across the messy ground, and their fresh blood dyed the lush shrubs and grass red.
Hearing the noise from behind, Feng quickly turned around and her sharp eyes softened as she saw Luoer. She winked at him.
"You, you..." This was probably the second time Luoer had seen Feng use this move. He was so astonished that he didn’t know how to express his feelings.
"Did I do something wrong?" Feng tilted her head and asked innocently.
"No, you almost..." Hesitating for a moment, Luoer coughed and said, "You almost hit our own team!"
"I’m sorry. It was unintentional!" Feng widened her eyes, innocently repeated.
"I thought you were in trouble," Luoer finally let out a sigh of relief and then complained, "You shouldn’t stray from the team because if you run into trouble, we won’t be able to help you."
"Don’t worry about me, I can handle them." Feng seriously replied.
"But these people have guns, a little carelessness could be fatal." Luoer said, frowning.
"Guns?" Feng clearly didn’t understand this term.
However, before she had a chance to respond, she saw an enemy who had luckily dodged her previous attack. This time, he was lifting his rifle aiming directly at Feng, who was standing in the open.
"Lookout!" Luoer heard Fulajie’er’s desperate warning. Yet, what was quicker than her warning, was Feng’s reaction.
The moment the enemy raised his rifle, Feng immediately reacted. She lifted her left hand holding the sword hilt and held it in front of her body, leaning forward and ready to fight back.
The enemy quickly fired his gun, but to Luoer’s surprise, the bullet hadn’t hit Feng, as they were blocked by an invisible barrier in front of her.
"That’s, a shield magic!" Luoer couldn’t help but exclaim.
Feng held up her shield magic against the enemy’s attack using her left hand, then lunged forward against the gunshots like a flea. She was in front of the enemy in the blink of an eye.
The enemy, shocked by Feng’s swiftness, stared wide-eyed at her as she suddenly appeared. Although his mouth was open, he couldn’t make any noise.
He wouldn’t even make another noise in the future because the moment Feng reached him, she had swung her long sword. With a spell-enhanced sword, he was cut in two in an instant.
The sword struck from his left rib to the right upwards, splitting his chest entirely in two. Not only that, even his arm, including the gun that was still firing, was cut in half in this attack.
Feng’s attack took Luoer by surprise, leaving him standing in place, tongue-tied. Until now, he had pegged Feng as a mage who could use a sword. However, the situation was different. Feng seemed more like a swordsman who could use magic.
