Chapter 645: Chapter 638: Reconnaissance Aircraft Under Attack
After contemplating, Tangmo lay on the ground staring at Feng in front of her when suddenly an idea flashed across her mind. She then got up and asked, "Um, Feng, can I examine your body to see where exactly the magic is accumulating?"
"Ok, you can, but don’t tickle me..." Feng said haltingly.
"I’m not a flirt," Tangmo scratched her head, about to get started. Immediately, she thought of something and turned her head to Cheng Ziang, who was quietly observing them from the corner, and waved her hand, "Ziang, turn around, haven’t you heard of not spying on indecent actions?"
"Are you going to undress her?" Cheng Ziang asked with a teasing smile.
"This is a matter between us girls, turn around quickly!" Tangmo urged.
Upon her urging, Cheng Ziang relented with a shake of his head and subsequently turned around. Seeing him turn away, Tangmo began examining Feng’s body.
First, she had to identify where Feng’s magical input was located. It was evident that since Feng was kneeling on the blanket, her magical energy must also be channeling through her legs and into her body.
Tangmo examined Feng’s legs as if she were checking her pulse, looking for evidence of the magic input. Being someone with a high aptitude for magic, her sensitivity to magic was beyond the ordinary. She could feel Feng’s internal flow of magic merely through touch.
Briefly inspecting, she grabbed Feng’s arm to check the flow of magic in her arm. The combined results astonished her, as there was no flow of magic in Feng’s arm.
Next, Tangmo checked her neck again, confirming there was no magic here either. Meaning, the magic entered Feng’s body through her legs but didn’t flow into her upper body.
Thinking about this, Tangmo gave a slight cough and then lifted Feng’s clothes, reaching into her abdomen.
"Ah!" Feng’s body suddenly jerked, followed by a small exclamatory cry.
"Don’t, don’t panic. I am just checking." Tangmo said awkwardly, her face inexplicably turning red.
She used her fingers to check downwards from Feng’s navel, finally feeling the accumulation of magic there. Obviously, the absorbed magical power congregated around Feng’s abdominal area and was channeled from here when it was utilized.
Tangmo felt a strong magical energy here, similar to the sensation she would feel when using the radiant singularity while at Lipei’s side. The magical energy, when condensed and compressed, transformed from a gas to a liquid, similar to a viscous liquid.
"This location..." Feeling the concentration of magic, Tangmo couldn’t help but furrow her eyebrows, looking as if she wanted to say something.
"Dantian!" Baiyue suddenly interrupted from the side.
"What did you say!" Baiyue’s words hit Tangmo like a revelation.
"Feng pools her magical energy into her Dantian and channels it from there when she employs it!" Baiyue stated earnestly.
"Indeed, it can be understood that way," Tangmo nodded in agreement and then turned to Baiyue, "Such a fascinating way to utilize magical energy!"
The way Tangmo and the others used magic involved channeling it directly through their bodies. However, Feng’s method was completely different, she absorbed magic before casting it. This method’s primary benefit was a large instantaneous output and a high casting speed of magic. Most importantly, this kind of magic did not require a Magic Wand as a medium, which is something traditional mages could never achieve.
The absorption and circulation of magic in traditional magic can be arbitrary, but there must be a medium for the output, which is why the Magic Wand is standard equipment for mages.
"Um, are, are you done checking?" Feng asked with a quivering voice, biting her lip. She had been holding in her ticklishness all this time as her body was very ticklish.
"Ah, I’m sorry!" Tangmo paused, finally realizing that she had not withdrawn her hand yet.
Just as she was about to retract it, the door of the room suddenly creaked open. Luoer appeared at the doorway, limping. Seeing Tangmo’s actions, he was dumbfounded. After a long silence, he scratched his head awkwardly and said, "Um, was I supposed to knock on the door first?"
"No, it’s not like that, I was just checking her health!" Tangmo withdrew her hand, then jumped up and hurriedly explained to Luoer.
"Fine, fine, I believe you." Luoer put out a hand to stop her, worried that her sudden rush might make him fall, given his just-healed leg injury.
"I said it’s not like that, don’t ignore me!" Misunderstood by Luoer, Tangmo was almost brought to tears.
"I trust you, don’t panic, my injury has just healed." Luoer quickly explained.
"Luoer, is your leg okay now?" At that moment, Baiyue grabbed the opportunity to discreetly step forward, reaching out to support him.
"I’m perfectly fine now, you don’t need to take care of me..." Under the relentless onslaught from everyone, Luoer awkwardly expressed.
He turned his head and saw that Cheng Ziang was also in the room, currently facing the wall. So he coughed and asked, "What are you doing here too?"
"Haha, oh, me? I’m supervising them!" Cheng Ziang shrugged his shoulders.
"Forget it, I don’t care about your matters anymore, let’s get ready to board the airboat, we have a mission, an urgent mission!" Luoer sighed and then seriously informed them.
"What kind of mission?" Cheng Ziang asked with interest.
"I’m not sure yet, we will only find out after the briefing." Luoer shrugged.
Then, he looked at Feng, who was kneeling on the blanket opposite him. He coughed to get her attention, "Feng, you too, stop charging your power!"
"Okay!" Feng never questioned Luoer’s commands. Upon hearing him, she immediately stood up.
"Is your leg okay?" On the way to the airstrip, Cheng Ziang looked at Luoer’s limping gait and couldn’t help but express his concern.
"Don’t worry, it’s already fine, just a bit of lingering habit. It’ll correct itself after a while." Luoer comforted him.
Upon arriving at the airstrip, everyone boarded the transport plane, which then took them up to the sky-bound airboat. When they reached the office, Li Si and Hu Daoke were already there waiting, although Li Si looked quite stern, so Hu Daoke dared not say a word.
When Luoer and his team walked in, Li Si’s expression relaxed slightly. However, he noticed Feng coming in as well. Upon seeing her, he pursed his lips without saying anything.
The tasks assigned to the advance team by the headquarters are usually confidential, known only to the highest-ranking team members, and even staff and mercenaries must avoid them. It was clear that Luoer had enough trust in Feng to allow her into the office to take on the mission with them.
As the commander of the airboat headquarters, Li Si still had significant autonomy. So if Luoer trusted Feng, Li Si naturally had no objections. Within the boundaries of authority, Li Si didn’t want to constrain Luoer with rules, creating a rigid relationship.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Li Si sighed deeply and told them, "This mission is extremely dangerous and serious. You must succeed, there will be no room for failure!"
Li Si’s words made everyone nervous, as neither he nor Wang Xu had ever spoken so gravely. Usually, they would tell the advance team, if it was accomplished then fine, if not then retreat. This time the demand was for them to succeed and failure was not an option, meaning the situation had become very serious.
"What exactly is going on?" Cheng Ziang couldn’t help but ask.
Li Si glanced at him and then said gravely, "Two hours ago, our reconnaissance aircraft carrying virus samples lost contact with us. Judging from the last message, it’s highly likely that the aircraft was attacked."
"Attacked?" Li Si’s words made everyone tense up. After all, a reconnaissance aircraft was a high-speed combat aircraft, how could it be easily attacked? Who had attacked them?
