Chapter 582: Chapter 575: Farewell_1
Not long after the agreement was signed and the meeting ended, Lin Wei and his group hurriedly prepared to return to Earth. Being Earthlings, they felt as uneasy in the Otherworld as they would in a nuclear radiation zone, therefore they dared not linger here. The power of Magic Power Erosion was indeed terrifying.
In accordance with the agreement, headquarters immediately began Industrial Aid to Ilanadale, helping them prioritize establishing a mining industry, while starting to absorb half-elves from other regions back to settle in Ilanadale.
Nina had achieved the first step of her beautiful desire. Ilanadale, in any case, could not be without the half-elves now. First, they would accept them, then integrate them, making them thoroughly citizens of Ilanadale.
Nina was quite conflicted about the half-elves. On one hand, she genuinely hoped that they could integrate into Ilanadale. Yet on the other hand, she was rather fearful of them. She had previously thought of letting Luoya inherit the throne after her abdication. However, Luoya was a half-elf and her rule would signify the complete collapse of the original elf regime.
Torn between these concerns, Nina established a rule for herself. At least during her reign, she would still maintain the status of the original elves. As for the future, she would cease to interfere.
If she continued to maintain the status of the original elves as she grew older, suppressing the legitimate status of the half-elves, it would be tantamount to ruining the political prospects of the Luo’er siblings in Ilanadale.
Nina was originally a relatively selfish person, who did not like half-elves, except her own children. Precisely for this reason, she is most determined to maintain the status of the original elf race.
The departure of Lin Wei marked the end of Nina’s political activities at the station. That is to say, now her main task was to visit the station, completely freeing up her time. Tangmo and Baiyue seized this opportunity to get closer to her again.
Before Lin Wei left, he also took Luoya along. Lin Wei didn’t have much thought about Luoya. After all, although the proportion of half-elves in the academy was very low, they still had some scale. There was no need to use Luoya for research anymore.
More importantly, Luo Qishan was still the head of Haiya Academy. Despite his long retirement, he still has a lot of connections in the academy and even in the Otherworld Research Center. With him in charge, it is estimated that the team at the research center would not dare propose the idea of researching Luoya.
About to part ways, Luoya was very reluctant, clinging to Nina and crying like raindrops on a pear blossom. Nina had to comfort her softly.
"Mom, I don’t want to go to Earth, I want to stay with you." Luoya sobbed.
"It’s okay, you’re just going there to study, what is there to be afraid of. According to your brother, it’s only half a month’s travel from the academy to Ilanadale. You can come back during the holidays." Nina comforted.
Luo’er’s words were correct. Once the air route was fully opened, the time needed from Ilanadale to Yazhi City would be greatly reduced. Luoya could fully cross the Otherworld Gate to Yazhi City during the summer and winter vacations, and then take the airboat to Ilanadale.
Hearing her words, Luoya turned her head to look at Luo’er, and then at Cheng Ziang. Although she didn’t say it outright, the meaning in her eyes was clear to see.
"Ziang, let’s send her over." Luo’er said to Cheng Ziang after faltering for a moment.
"Oh, okay." Cheng Ziang nodded, knowing what Luo’er was thinking.
Luoya followed the two towards the station door, and couldn’t help but look back at Nina from time to time. At this time, Nina was again occupied by Baiyue and Tangmo, but she still managed to wave her hand back at Luoya with a smile.
After walking a certain distance with Luoya, Luo’er suddenly thought of something and said to Cheng Ziang, "I have some important matters to deal with, you send her over."
"Alright!" Cheng Ziang watched Luo’er leave and said casually. He clearly knew what Luo’er wanted to do, but he did not dare to make it explicit.
"Let’s go." After watching Luo’er leave, Cheng Ziang lowered his head and said to Luoya.
"He did it on purpose, didn’t he?" Luoya blushed and turned her head to look at Luo’er, then raised her head to ask.
"Hmm, well, forget about him, let me accompany you for your last leg." Cheng Ziang said a bit awkwardly.
Luoya heaved a deep sigh, then moved to the front. After a moment of silence, she couldn’t help but speak up: "I’m about to go to that...Earth."
"Yeah, I know..." Cheng Ziang responded somewhat perfunctorily.
"Will it be a terrible place?" Luoya asked.
"Terrifying? Not really. Don’t forget, we also came from there." Cheng Ziang shrugged.
"Of course," Luoya turned around, her face scrunched up in displeasure, and said, "You were born and grow up on Earth, naturally, you’re accustomed to life there. If I go there, I won’t be able to speak the language or know my way around."
"Don’t worry, as long as you can speak Tasta language, you’ll be fine. They have bilingual education there. Both the students and the teachers basically speak Tasta language, so there won’t be any communication problem. Plus, your grandfather is the Principal. As they say, a grandparent’s indulgence, he’ll treat you no less than your mother." Ziang reassured her.
As soon as he finished speaking, he found that Luoya was glaring at him with a look of displeasure. After a slight pause, he asked hesitantly, "What’s the matter? Did I say something wrong?"
Luoya took a deep breath, and then blurted out with annoyance, "I feel like cursing you to death."
"Why?" Ziang was confused for a moment.
"Nothing!" Luoya grumbled and turned to walk away.
"Ah, she’s angry again..." Ziang helplessly followed behind her.
He quickened his pace, reached out to grab Luoya’s wrist, and then walked alongside her. Luoya glared at him, her face flushed, but uncharacteristically didn’t make a fuss. Ziang took this as an opportunity to further hold her hand.
"Don’t worry about parting. You’re a half-elf. The time you’ll spend studying on Earth is only a fraction of your long lifetime. You still have plenty of time to experience your youth. Relax, your brother has already shouldered all the hardships for you. All you need to do is go there and have a good time," Ziang said to her.
"Then, will you wait for me to come back?" Luoya asked in a low voice.
"Of course!" Ziang answered readily.
Upon hearing his response, Luoya looked up at him. But as their eyes met, her face turned red and she quickly averted her gaze, then blurted out, "I was asking if you will have my brother wait for me?"
"Yes, your brother and I will both be waiting for you," Ziang said with a beaming smile.
"I don’t want you to wait!" Luoya said with embarrassment.
"Alright, I’ll stay far away!" Ziang responded.
Luoya glared at him angrily, but had no retort. Ziang chuckled, then continued walking alongside her.
They quickly arrived at the entrance to the base where several carriages were parked to transport the high-ranking officials of the headquarters. A female assistant noticed Luoya and enthusiastically came over to guide her into one of the carriages.
"Hey!" Before being lead into the carriage, Luoya turned around and called out to Ziang.
"What’s up?" Ziang asked.
"You have to come too, you hear?" Luoya ordered.
Upon hearing her words, Ziang paused for a moment before nodding in agreement and replied, "Okay, I will definitely come!"
With Ziang’s promise secured, Luoya relaxed and climbed into the carriage. After she was in, the caravan set off, escorted by a troop of mercenaries, marching grandly towards Yazhi City.
As he watched the caravan disappear from view, Ziang let out a long sigh of disappointment before turning to leave. However, as he turned around, he saw Luo’er standing behind him.
"Did you hear everything I said to her?" Ziang asked awkwardly scratching his head.
"No, I just got here." Luo’er shook his head, speaking impassively.
"Er... let’s head back." After a moment’s hesitation, Ziang continued.
"Let’s go, we need to get back quickly, we might be getting a mission soon!" Luo’er called out, urging Ziang towards the
